Abstract

One of interesting aspect in game is virtual enemy (AI) as enemy to the player. This aspect is important to give challenge to the player, especially for a single player game. One game that requires such AI is a turn-based strategy game. To be able to create an interesting and challenging AI for the player, it is require equally strong and dynamic AI.To create such AI, ID3 and Influence Map will be used as the base of the AI used in turn-based strategy game. Applications made include ID3 training software and Influence Map class inside the game that will be used. ID3 System is made to have the ability to process continuous data.The results showed that the ability to create a decision tree by ID3 is greatly influenced by the training data used. The results also showed that the propagation method used for the Influence Map system can be set to suit the requirements in the game.

Abstract

Human techniques in manipulating picture are more and more, especially in character recognition. Various types of techniques to manipulate it also has advantages and disadvantages. One technique that is often used is to use artificial neural network. While the recognition technique using the feature extraction is still rarely used.Therefore, an application was made to recognize a feature extraction of capital letters in the image. The technique used is to find the intersection or edge and curvature features from images containing capital letters so that it can be done the recognition of features from such capital letters.Through the test results, has obtained an example of the introduction of the intersection and curvature features stored in the matrix as compared to the basic structure of the letter. Matrix generated from this testing , for some particular font will be quite satisfactory result . But there are still shortcomings in recognizing letters in a font that is not symmetrical.

Abstract

Making mockups for display to investors often requires a very high cost, manufacture mock floater if deemed there are less suitable in the making. To overcome this age often the designers will re-create the mock-scale model if it is not in accordance with the wishes of investors. But the problem that arises is the purchase of an expensive tool visual examples, so it is not efficient in generating cost manufacturing maket.To overcome this, invented a visualization application mockups city park by using markers made of paper, so that the cost of making these mockups cheap, compared with money must be spent to buy equipment such as, trees, park benches, etc. Users can also add mockups according to keingginannya, can add objects that are free on the Internet, then choose a marker in accordance with his wishes, the User can print the even own mockups that will be used.To make the visualization process is carried out mock-long process ranging from changing color to gray, change the color to black and white, edge detection, square detecting, matching the template to print the object desired dimensions. Through the test results, it was found that the result object that is displayed on the screen is in conformity with the position marker, the downside of this process is that the process that takes a long time rendering and 3D printing process object that still has texture and recognizable marker must rectangular.

Abstract

Rendering is the process by the end of the whole process of modeling or computer animation to change the form of three-dimensional objects into two dimensions. One popular method of rendering known today is ray tracing. Ray tracing is a technique for generating an image by tracing the path of light through pixels in the image.Ray tracing method is able to produce realistic images because it is calculating lighting effects such as ambient, diffuse and specular. Reflection and refraction of light is also calculated in ray tracing. In addition, ray tracing method is divided into two kinds, known as the tracing rays from the eye (backward ray tracing) and tracing rays from the light source (forward ray tracing).Caustic effect produced by emitting light in a transparent object. Refracted light will gather in an area so that the area will appear brighter than the surrounding areas. In previous studies, the effect of caustic applied to the primitive object, where the light checks done once per object. In this study, the object used is mesh. Checking the light will be performed on each triangle in the mesh.Results showed the greater refractive index, the more caustic effect gathered in certain areas of the body bare round, but spread on a flat and taper grounded object. The increase in the complexity of the mesh will increase linearly time. Comparison with other software shows the difference in the form of caustic effects and rendering time.

Abstract

Javanese letter are a representative and a proof of Indonesia’s rich and diverse. Nowadays the use of Javanese language in oral and written conversation Indonesia is getting rare. Our people prefer to learn our national language or international languages such as English and Chinese. Another work to conserve Javanese letter is make Javanese letter optical recognition. Therefore, in this thesis an application that could be used in the preprocessing phase of Javanese letter recognition was developed.Hough transform and projection profile are the methods that used in this application. Hough transform is a method that perform skew detection on the document. Projection profile is a method that process segmentation.In Chapter 5 light intensity, consistency range between rows, font size and type, the difference of font weight would affect the result. The result of projection profile method can segment 77% of document with consistent range between rows. The hough transform method can detect skew on the document up to 94%.

Abstract

The background of digitalizing one of the Indonesian folklores, Malin Kundang in 3D object modeling for Android is to reintroduce the story, which is not as famous as any other fairy tales from other countries. This application is usable for Androids, which have been widely used nowadays. What makes this program different with any similar programs is the using of 3D object digital and its animation, and users can actively run the program and play the story, in which the learning method has been commonly applied for kids these days. This program uses Unity3D as the main software maker. On the other hand, Blender software is used to make the 3D object and its animation. This Blender application is also applied to convert the 3D type to .fbx so that the animation is able to be read and used. To support the 3D object digital, this applications is designed in 3D visual with narrative storyline and mini games. The 3D visualization presents the story in dialogues per scene by using 3D object and its animation, meanwhile the mini games put the story through the culture at that time. The output of this application is to let its users be aware of one of Indonesian cultures, which in this case is Malin Kundang the folklore, in more unique and authentic way.

Abstract

Sulawesi Jaya Raya company is a company engaged in the field of services . The company serves the freight by ship . During the Company Sulawesi Jaya Raya working order shipping process take orders manually as orders , order ships and containers , renting a place in the harbor , hire a truck and driver , to bill payment . Data communication between headquarters and branch offices still use the telephone and fax . Integrated data often lead to miscommunication or billing errors , delays in delivery order handling , and error rekapan data items that have been sent or not . To produce information quickly and accurately , an enterprise must be supported by a computerized information system , but the computerized context has a very broad scope , good handling to information systems may provide an advantage over the services provided to the customers so as to create long-term relationships better. Designing the system using the Data Flow Diagram and Entity Relationship Diagram . The program uses the MySQL Server as a database , and using the PHP programming language . The scope of the program includes creating a master database created for the city , customer , ship , ship schedules , user and price . Delivery transactions include transactions and  receipts, delivery orders include delivery delivery, table of contents , list of fit , the minutes and bills , letters and claim road , transaction admission includes a list of news events as well as the unloading and then the final bill is the automatic report generation .

Abstract

The development of technology can make human being to do a lot of things more simple. Teaching method currently has many variations so that the learning process is more alive. Learning by explaining the process which can be seen is very beneficial. Sometimes in a process, hand gestures play an important role in understanding the whole process. The use of webcam can be another alternative to digitize what is written by users. This thesis aims to digitize lecturing notes on paper using a device webcam.The system includes processes like image retrieval, paper detection, projection mapping, skin detection and removal, and processing results with threshold method. Paper edge detection process uses the method of canny edge detection. In paper edge detection, webcam image becomes image with white color for area of paper. Projection mapping process is used to map the image with trapezoid shape of paper into image with rectangular shape of paper. Skin detection process uses HSV and YCbCr color space. In skin detection process, hand which still appears in image becomes image without hand. The application was created using the C# programming language with Visual C# 2010 as its IDE.The experiment results indicate that the color, ink thickness, threshold value, height of the webcam, size and distance between scratches, and lighting level will affect the final outcome of the application. In addition, the hand’s position during the writing may cause a shadow on the paper. The best result of all methods which have been tried is the result of the threshold method.

Abstract

The development of information and computer technology (ICT) has reached to various fields in the world, one of them is medical field. There are new methods of medication and diagnoses currently based on ICT, like MRI and CT Scanner. Both MRI and CT produces data as volume image which contains the scan results of internal organs, also known as DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) Image. For various needs in the medical world, DICOM image processing is necessary.This thesis aims to make a feature to load a volume image and do skin and skull segmentation in a short time, and also to do mesh generation from processed DICOM images. Skin segmentation is done by thresholding the image, extracting the largest connected component, and holefilling to fill the unnecessary holes. As for the skull segmentation, the process is done by removing the spines which is connected to the skull, and then extracting the largest connected component. Afterwards, mesh generation is done to produce the 3D objects from the processed images. This mesh generation process is done using the marching cubes algorithm.The testing results show that the skin and skull segmentation process will work well when there are no other objects that are connected to the skin or the skull. Skin segmentation process takes a significant amount of time, primarily caused by the holefilling process. The time required for mesh regeneration depends on the complexities of the image. The mesh generation result’s quality is affected by resolution reduction ratio, relaxation factor and iteration of smoothing.

Abstract

Transcription of music is an active research problem in computer science and has many applications in digital music. The use of time-domain filter to improve sound quality and adding sound effects is commonplace, but the use of filter for pitch detection is rarely explored. This work thesis aims to create a pitch detection system based on digital filter and test it’s performance in guitar and piano signals. IIR Comb Filter and Peak2 onset detection is chosen as the main algorithm for this application. IIR Comb Filter have notches, zero values corresponding to a certain frequency and all it’s harmonic frequencies. If make IIR Comb Filter correspond to a pitch frequency, all its harmonic frequency will have zero values. Filtering this kind of filter with a pitched signal will result in elemination of a pitch frequency and all it’s harmonics, and the filter corresponding to the input frequency will have a minimum output compared to the other filter’s result. Peak2 onset detection works by taking the result of two peak detectors. The first peak detector detects sudden changes in amplitude in time-domain, the second peak detector takes the first peak detector’s values as an input, producing a smother result. Test showed that the result varied between instruments. Onset detection for guitar and piano performs rather poorly, about 55% of all the correct onsets were detected. For pitch estimation, the accuracy for the pitch detected is 81.25% for all monophonic signals and 64.29% for all polyphonic signals.
