Abstract

Competition in the industrial world forcing every company to have a strategy in their production process. Layout arrangement is one of the strategy that can be done so that the production process can run more efficiently. Two strategies that can be used in the layout arrangement are product layout and process layout. The initial layout, product layout, and process layout will be simulated by using Promodel software. Research in this final project will determine the best layout through the comparison of the four factors which are output of products, transportation time, operator utility, and moment. These results indicate that the process layout is better when compared with the initial layout and product layout of the four factors above. Comparison with the initial layout show that the product output from process layout can be increased by 37.49% for can product and 55.22% for lid product. Average transport time on the process layout can be decreased by 88.97%. The average operator utility on the process layout can be increased by 41.81%. Moment of the process layout can be decreased by 53.80%.

Abstract

Problem were found in a uniform warehouse in PT. XYZ are about uniform storage and overstock. This thesis give proposal to decrease uniform inventory cost and rearrange uniform warehouse. Propose for improvement which is given are uniform warehouse guideline with Kaizen concept, determine maximum inventory with Periodic Review, and guideline of uniform database. With Periodic Review’s method, the company can decrease percentage of stockout. Percentage of stockout is 3%.

Abstract

One of the most common problem happened at PT. Charoen Pok­phand Indonesia is the failure in feed collection systems on pellet machine. This failure should be minimized since it creates huge loss in terms of downtime in the working process of the pellet machine. The failure is analysed using 5 Why’s and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) to find the source of the failure. From the analysis, the proposed improvements are to change the parts of feed collection systems and to create a guidance in maintaining and monitoring feed collection systems. The failure in feed collection systems did not happen anymore after the proposal is implemented with the saving costs of manufacturing as Rp472.500.000,00 per month.

Abstract

Production planning, capacity determination and objective value on CV. X only refers to one particular process. The planning method currently used by the company is considered less effective in achieving the company's objective. The purpose of this research is to create a plan that can maximize the achievement of production output by considering production capacity. Based on demand of the past one year, forecast demand for the next three periods conducted, which is June, July and August in 2017. Demand forecast will be used as an input in the preparation of production planning. The method used in this research is aggregate planning. The aggregate planning results are then disaggregated to determine the number of nail for each size that need to be produced and raw material needed in each period.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the location of potential aid depot at the time of the annual flood disasters in Gresik Regency. Determination of the location of potential aid depot is applied using mathematical models and involving BPBD of East Java and BPBD Gresik. Linear programming is applied and solved using solver excel software. The constraint of this mathematical model made are time constraint, the number of vehicles, dan the amount of potential aid depot. The function of the purpose of mathematical model is abaout handling maximize the number of victims dan minimized the total time of delivery relief. The result of research shows that to determine the location of potential assistance or post depot influenced by some obstacle that is the time constraint, the number of vehicles, and the objective function.

Abstract

This research is originated from a problem of low efficiency level that happened in SINBA production line at PT Schneider Electric Manufacturing Batam (PT SEMB). Method used for this project is called waste analysis. Waste analysis is a step of analyze to find what kind of waste that actually happen, in order to find any proper improvement to reduce that waste. Observation has been made and the result was showing that the source of the problem is on the work cell layout and ineffective ways of set-up. Many waste happened due to excessive invaluable movement and long set-up time (movement waste and set-up waste). Improvement and solution has been proposed to remove the movement waste. Improvement result showed that efficiency has increased by 4.35%.

Abstract

Natural disasters in Indonesia often resulted in huge casualties and material lost. Therefore, the coordination of humanitarian logistic is important to be upgraded. The result of this research is a model plan of humanitarian logistic coordination in East Java with case study in Pasuruan regency. The simulation of dynamic system model is run using Vensim software. The objective function is to minimize the response time for emergency response. The proposed model involves Indonesia Red Cross (IRC) as a core team in humanitarian logistic in East Java. The order of priority that could be considered is the assessment team only conducted by IRC, addition of IRCs doctors, addition of IRCs boats for evacuation, additions of IRCs personnel for soup kitchen, and addition of IRCs boats for aid distribution. The simulation results show that the proposed model can reduce the response time up to 20 hours.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk perancangan Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) pada perusahan Roti X. Hingga saat ini perusahaan masih belum memiliki rancangan PPIC. Selain permasalahan peramalan gudang penyimpanan bahan baku perusahaan Roti X juga masih kurang rapi sehingga diperlukan perbaikan layout dari gudang penyimpanan. Perancangan PPIC pada penelitian ini meliputi peramalan, pembuatan master production schedule (mps), perencanaan agregat, pembuatan material requirement planning (mrp), dan perhitungan lotsizing. Metode permalan yang terpilih pada penelitian ini adalah metode winter multiplicative dan weighted moving average. Perhitungan biaya pengadaan material dengan metode wagner whitin sebesar Rp 267,162,595.53. Pembuatan VBA seletah perancangan sistem PPIC dilakukan untuk memudahkan dalam mengakses data dan pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian lain yang dilakukan adalah perbaikan layout gudang dengan menggunakan metode ABC Analysis. Hasil dari perbaikan layout gudang adalah penurunan nilai perpindahan momen sebesar 4.2708 % atau penurunan jarak material handling dari 480 m menjadi 459.5 m.

Abstract

Penerapan strategi dynamic pricing di Indonesia sudah banyak dilakukan oleh industri penerbangan dan transportasi darat (Uber, Gojek, Grab, dll), namun masih sangat jarang ditemukan penerapan strategi ini pada perusahaan pelayaran (perusahaan jasa pengiriman peti kemas). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat model dynamic pricing yang tepat untuk perusahaan jasa pengiriman peti kemas dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penting yang berpengaruh dalam pembuatan model dynamic pricing pada perusahaan jasa pengiriman peti kemas. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah analisa survei kuesioner, membuat skenario-skenario pemodelan dynamic pricing, dan melakukan uji anova. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor penting yang berpengaruh dalam pembuatan model dynamic pricing adalah faktor harga dan musim. Model dynamic pricing terbaik yang dapat diterapkan adalah melakukan kenaikan untuk harga minggu depan ketika jumlah demand aktual minggu ini lebih besar dari jumlah ekspektasi demand minggu ini dan tidak memberikan perubahan harga untuk minggu depan jika demand aktual minggu ini kurang dari ekspektasi demand minggu ini.

Abstract

PT. X is one of roof trusses manufacturer in Indonesia. Due to intense competition between competitors, company needs to provide good service to customers. The problem that happened is the the company’s production capacity per shift still hasn’t been able to meet customer demands, therefore the company often does overtime on production. Inventory cost also being the problem in company where the raw materials are more than demand it cause more inventory cost. The purpose of this study is to allocated the workload with consider the production capacity and find out the best option for controlling raw material inventory. Production capacity can be calculated from standard time and then workload allocation to minimize overtime and idle time. Workload allocation can reduce overtime by 90,8% and idle time by 47,7%. Continuous review system, periodic review system, and multi-item joint order methods will be used as raw material ordering methods. These methods will be compared with the current conditions based on total inventory cost. In conclusion, continuous review system method has the smallest total inventory cost compared to other methods and the current conditions of the company that reduce the cost by 3,55%.
