Abstract

This research attempts to improve the sales of a convenience store. The proposed improvements are done using 5R and planogram concepts. Planogram is applied to classify the products and to determine the locations of the racks. The Implementation has been done and it showed 200 of 475 items has increased in number of sales. The average weekly demand for the increased items is 62 units. The implementation is applied during fasting period where the highest priority of buyers is foods and drinks. Therefore, for drugs and cigarettes has the smallest the number of sales.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design packing standard process and processing time in PT X. The standard process and processing time is needed because at this time PT X does not have standard process and processing time especially in packing KPA 148. With having the standard process and processing time, it is expected to give quality assurance for the process.The standard of design process and process time is done by conducting experiments based on data making of other type A packing (KPA043) in each process. The results of the recommended experiments will be written into Work Instruction (WI) and then implemented. The results obtained in the form of standard and processing time where the milling process has a standard time of 750 seconds, the cutting length process has a standard 9.2 - 10.8 mm and standard on hotpress process using temperature 147 - 153oC for 200 seconds for packing KPA 148.

Abstract

PT. X is a company that produces cosmetic packaging based on make to order system. This company consist of five departements which one of them is assembly and decorating 2 (AD 2). AD 2 Department causes 28% of 59% production delay. Production delay is caused by two factors, these are internal factors and external factors. Effectiveness and level of rejection included in internal factors. Low effectiveness occurs due to high trouble hours where 32.05% of working hours are used to solve production problems. The high trouble hours is caused by three factors, these are product trouble, process, and machine. The cause that mostly impact trouble hours is long sorting time with 1.76 hours average time. Rejected products can be divided into internal and external causes. The percentage of rejected products from external and internal causes are 0.51% and 3.99%, respectively. Internal rejected products occurred because of the broken material as 49%. 58% of it are caused by USW machine. The proposed improvement is given by updating the standard time.

Abstract

FSCM Manufacturing Indonesia is a factory that focuses itself in producting otomotif filter. By this time, the factory has not implemented kanban thoroughly, thus, the inventory can not be controlled. The problem that occurs is all operators and employees do not responsible in the application of kanban in the factory. More over, there is a shortage of supporting material caused by unplanned inventory. This research is done to implement kanban and to control the supporting material at FSCM Manufacturing Indonesia. The result shows that kanban has been implemented and been controlled at the factory and the shortage of supporting material is also decreased from 30.577 materials to 2.185 materials.

Abstract

PT Citra Indah Abadi Jaya is a service company engaged in the powder coatings of aluminum and metal. The problem that occurs in companies is that there is lateness in order completion. This lateness was caused by company schedulling based on the estimation of the Production Department. Therefore, a production schedulling algorithm is needed that can minimize the maximum lateness in the company. The algorithm that will be used in this research is the Symbiotic Organisms Search (SOS) and Earliest Due Date (EDD) algorithms. The SOS and EDD algorithm programs are run with Excel VBA. The eco size of the SOS algorithm is 50 with 20 replications. The results of the proposed best algorithm will be compared with schedulling the company's actual conditions. It is expected that the proposed schedulling algorithm can meet the needs of the company.

Abstract

This final project is done to design a Production Planning and Inventory Control system (PPIC) system for Bed Sheet X company. Currently, Bed Sheet X company does not have yet a PPIC system. Company is produced the products only to fulfill their maximum stock.  The design of the PPIC system in this final project includes forecasting, designing Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirment Planning (MRP), and calculating lot sizing. Some forecast methods are compared in term of  Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) value. The Winter's Multiplicative method is the best method for each type of fabric. The Winter’s Multiplicative MAD value is 71.875. The lot sizing method used is Wagner Whitin Algorithm (WWA). The total cost of raw materials’ procurement is Rp. 34,968,493. After designing the PPIC system, a Visual Basic Application (VBA) is made to make it easier for users to do a production planning.

Abstract

PT. X is a company that engaged in the animal feed manufacturing. PT. X had started to produce animal feed since 1972. Animal feed that produced by PT. X includes chicken, pork, duck, quail, and etc. The form of animal’s feed is flours, pellets and crumbles. Now, one of  PT. X has department, The Hand Add Department, has a problem that the layout still cause a lot of time for workers to move during the work process. A lot of time is wasted because there is a backtracking movement. The Hand Add Department also has a plan to add a special scale for weighing a special material. That is called anti-cocci. The facility layout design and the additional of a special scale for weighing a special material after the experiment has resulted in saving distance between facilities about 14,75%, saving working time/day about 24,99%, saving time for one batch mixing about 8,26%.

Abstract

PT. Charoen Pokphand is a company engaged in the animal feed industry. The company wants to make continuous improvements to facilitate the distribution of animal feed. The initial improvement that needs to be done is to control the amount of inventory of a product by looking at the demand from consumers. The determination of safety stock uses the ABC classification method, where the ABC classification divides based on classes. There are 3 classes, namely class A, class B, and class C.The purpose of ABC classification is to help companies to see priority inventory in storage in the sense that much is needed by consumers. The writing of this Final Project report shows that the warehouse capacity is 254.592 kg and the capacity of goods for safety stock required is 192.091 kg so that the warehouse can store goods for safety stock maintenance for the next 3 days with the remaining warehouse capacity of 62.501 kg.

Abstract

PT. X is a company engaged in the body body sector. The company is growing, marked by the increasing number of orders, production volume, and the number of types of products. The absence of an unplanned production schedule and raw materials caused this company to be late in delivery and suffered indirect material losses. Due to the absence of a PPIC system in the company, this causes inaccurate production times so that the time given to customers is often missed. Therefore, this company increasingly needs planning for its production and inventory. In designing the PPIC system, so that in the future the production process can run according to the plan and the completion time will be as promised to the customer. the method used is the method of forecasting and production planning, the preparation of the master production schedule, and the raw material requirements as well as the schedule for ordering the required raw materials.

Abstract

SKU 2 DC packing process on line 9 PT. X is done manually by operators using three methods. These three methods were analyzed with time study and simulated with Promodel software. Methods with higher unit per man hour which are method 1 with seven operators and method 2 with eight operators are analyzed again and given some improvements. Operators improve their motion based on two hands process chart, focusing the work of the operator by fixing the job description, improve the working space layout, and change the speed of wrapping machine. There are two solution improvements. Solution 1 is using method 1 with 88 ppm wrapping machine speed and solution 2 is using method 2 with 120 ppm wrapping machine speed. The result of the improvements is an increase in productivity of 3,85% for solution 1 to 13,46 unit per man hour and 15,3% for solution 2 to 16,05 unit per man hour.
