Abstract

PT Citra Indah Abadi Jaya is a service company engaged in the powder coatings of aluminum and metal. The problem that occurs in companies is that there is lateness in order completion. This lateness was caused by company schedulling based on the estimation of the Production Department. Therefore, a production schedulling algorithm is needed that can minimize the maximum lateness in the company. The algorithm that will be used in this research is the Symbiotic Organisms Search (SOS) and Earliest Due Date (EDD) algorithms. The SOS and EDD algorithm programs are run with Excel VBA. The eco size of the SOS algorithm is 50 with 20 replications. The results of the proposed best algorithm will be compared with schedulling the company's actual conditions. It is expected that the proposed schedulling algorithm can meet the needs of the company.

Abstract

In meeting market demands and competition, many companies focus their attention by making various efforts to market their products, gain the largest market share, and increase company profits by improving, improving, or developing the systems they have. Companies with fast distribution, such as the retail business sector, need adequate warehouse facilities so that the needs of consumers or stores can be met optimally. PT. Clandys is a company engaged in the retail of baby and household equipment. The main problems that exist at PT. Clandys are the warehouse system that is still poorly coordinated and the inventory checking that still uses the manual system. With the problems in the PT. Clandys warehouse, a good warehouse system. is needed. The warehouse system that has been created can connect the central warehouse and branch warehouses to each other, provide notifications, as well as automatic matching for goods receipt transactions and stock taking. In addition, a warehouse system was also created to develop other transactions in the PT. Clandys warehouse. Other transactions at PT. Clandys such as mutations, returns, and pre-orders of goods can be coordinated between warehouses and the warehouse system  created.

Abstract

For companies engaged in delivery services, punctuality is the main factor that can directly affect customer satisfaction and is one of the main benchmarks for company performance. Therefore, analyzing the root causes of delays needs to be done to provide improvement proposals that can prevent, reduce and overcome the root problems.One of the root causes chosen by the researcher to be studied further is the problem of delays caused by traffic jams. Decision Support System is required to assist companies in making decisions regarding departure time to reduce late deliveries The method that will be used to predict the delay is Decision Tree Regression. The accuracy of the prediction results will be measured based on the value of the Root Square Mean Error. The results show that Decision Tree Regression is still not right for predicting delays, so the truck departure schedule will be pegged based on the travel time or the length of the truck's journey from the depot to the customer's warehouse. The company can also implement other improvement proposals to improve the system in the company, so it can prevent and reduce the impact of delays.

Abstract

PT UBS is a company that produces gold jewelry. Finishing process at PT UBS involves plating and final QC process that needs color masters. Color masters are finished goods that are stored as color standards. The color masters have an expiration date. The company has 4 problems: color masters are not easy to be located to be used during the final QC process, many color masters are out of date, the overstock of some color master candidates, and sometimes they found no colos master candidates. The objectives of this study are to design information system for the color master expiration dates, to design information system for the color master candidates, and to design a new storage for the color masters. Microsoft Excel with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is used to design the information systems. SketchUp and anthropometry data are used to design the new storage. The results of this study are 2 information systems and 1 storage design. The information systems will facilitate expiration dates control and inventory control. The storage design will increase efficiency of final QC process since color masters are located easily.

Abstract

PT. X had the probem of low haulage productivity in 2021 where the target of 10 ritases per truk per day was often not achieved. The company has made improvements using the DMAIC method. This study aims to provide an analysis of the achievement, control, and development of productivity improvements in haulage trucking. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews, and company past data. Data processing was done by histograms, T statistical test, and control chart. From the results of the study, it is knon that the T-test shows that conditions before the repair have been validated and are not better than the conditions after the repair. The I-MR chart shows that the improvement after the repair process is stable and maintained within the existing UCL and LCL. Truck availability increased 7,15% to 92,44%. Driver availiability increased 3% to 94%. Ritase achievement increased by 25,01% to 12,15 ritase/truck.

Abstract

PT. X is a food packaging company. From interviews with the company reveals that it has not implemented the ISO 22000 because there is no commitment. The project aims to identify and complete the documents and deficiencies required for the ISO 22000:2018 certification. The documents and data needed for the design are obtained by interviewing workers at the company and observation. The first step is conformity analysis to the ISO to find out what percentage of the company's readiness. The second step is designing the required clauses. The initial gap is found 10.16%. Then the appropriate clauses will be directly included in the new design and those that have not been fulfilled will be redesign. The design is carried out for clause 4 to clause 10. After designing, the company’s readiness to conform the ISO 22000:2018 IS 84.4%. The results of the design show improvement so that the company can be considered ready to carry out certification.

Abstract

The curriculum of the Petra Christian University Industrial Engineering Study Program is always updated every four years to keep up with the times, especially in science and technology. However, the evaluation carried out in the curriculum changes did not include the analysis of efficiency and student study results. The curriculum that evaluated in this final project are the curriculum in 2007, 2012, and 2016 with student data used are class 2007, 2012 and 2016. Curriculum evaluation is analyzed using the efficiency measurement method. In addition to efficiency calculations and analysis, this study also looks for the influence between curriculum and majors on GPA by using One-Way ANOVA, Kruskall Wallis, Paired T-Test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank tests. The results obtained indicate that the curriculum changes made by Industrial Engineering are more efficient. Curriculum efficiency has a significant effect on the final GPA and the length of time students graduate. In addition, there is an increase in the final GPA of students compared to the GPA until semester 5, before determining the majors.

Abstract

PT X is a coachbuilder company that was founded in 1973.  PT X produces two types of vehicle bodies, namely: minibusses and buses. In order to meet consumer demand, the company uses a make to order strategy. The production department plays an important role, and the warehouse department as a supporter of the production department, therefore a good relationship is needed between the two departments, one of which is ordering and shipping components. The system for ordering and delivery of components now, there is no planning for ordering components, which causes a delay in the production process. Improvements were made by creating an ordering and delivery information system for components, also make a support information system for the Microsoft Dynamics GP program that is already used in the company. Support Information system using Microsoft Macro Excel program. The improvements that have been made can accelerate the component ordering process.

Abstract

PT. X started a business process to introduce solar power generation devices as an alternative energy source. Currently, Key Performance Indicators of PT. X was not designed according to the company's business model and values. The company also does not have a dashboard to monitor the performance of each department and its achievements. Companies find it difficult to monitor their performance. The purpose of this final project is to design Key Performance Indicators based on the company's business model, values, and quality objectives. Database is also needed to record and store supporting data for calculating Key Performance Indicators. Data and calculation results are visualized in a dashboard to make it easier for companies to monitor the performance of each department. With this dashboard, companies also get information and insights related to the performance of solar projects. Companies can take advantage of information and insights to formulate strategies so that companies can improve the achievement of the company's Key Performance Indicators better.

Abstract

PT. X is a private company engaged in the manufacture of weapons (Alutsista) the Main Equipment of the Indonesian National Army Weapon System. The company has had problems with warehouse management where the arrangement of raw materials on shelves that are placed arbitrarily, recording incoming and outgoing goods is still manual and also has problems with warehouse SOPs. In the raw material warehouse there are 7 shelves, each shelf consists of 3 stacks. By making changes to the warehouse layout, you can make your own warehouse activities more efficient. Then by applying the fixed storage method and labeling the identity on each shelf, the search and retrieval time of goods before is 37,092 seconds and after is 23,632 seconds. For changes to the SOP itself, the company previously had 3 SOPs and the new plan became 7 SOPs. The SOP itself is divided, merged and simplified the sentences from the old SOP to the new SOP. The use of Visual Basic for Applications for recording incoming and outgoing goods themselves to facilitate warehouse operators in carrying out the data collection process and also reduces the risk of incorrect data entry.
