Abstract

Surabaya is the second biggest city in Indonesia. With it’s majority society on productive age, Surabaya has been declared as the City of Literacy since June 2014 by the city government. The realization of this City of Literacy has become a commitment part of Tri Risma Harini as the Major of Surabaya, not only to focus on infrastructure development, but also to focus on the human development index. The raising of this Literacy city’s program has been marked by the establishment of 400 Taman Baca Masyarakat (TBM) in each sub-district with 15 minutes daily reading which has become a routines, so that the children must be facilitated with kind of interesting reading space,with the purpose is to make reading no longer a boring.. The designer chooses container which is no longer functional in the harbor, to be conversed from a goods diversion into an educational facility for an early childhood. Based on the flexibility of dimension, design and mobility, this container library will be interesting and advantageous in Sombo Flats, especially for early childhood kids in Surabaya City.

Abstract

An interior design "Night Clubs and Bars in Balikpapan"has becomes a night entertainment facility atlernative for the middle and upper class, particularly the young executives. A Place that help balancing between work and relaxation for every individual who comes, provided with facilities such as good service, music that can be enjoyed by everyone, also the security is well maintained, as well as a satisfaying beautiful viewof the city. The nightclub is divided into three areas for visitors, i.e. lobby, bar area, and dance area. With stages that go into space. Space is provided as follows; lobby, bar with seating area, entertainment area, up to the dance area in accordance with the concept of "Nebula".

Abstract

Health services in Indonesia are provided through public hospitals and specialist hospital to optimize the health service for society. However, the health services for children in Indonesia is poorly maintained, whilst the emergency room design in the hospital could affect the patient’s psychology and well-being. Besides the facilities, another aspect in an emergency room that could accelerate the patient’s healing progress are colors, interior materials, textured, lighting,  indoor air condition, and scenery. The design method consists of some steps such as inquiry, empathize, define, brainstorm, prototype, test, apply, and reflect.   The emergency room is designed for infants and children (0-14 years old) with an attractive design which suitable for children. The design concept is Enjoyable Active, which could create a playful, energetic, cheerful, and warm emergency room atmosphere. The main colors of this design are: green, to lower the stress; beige, to give a cheerful atmosphere and neutralize nervous feeling in patients; and blue which provide a calming nuance.  Other facilities in the design are information area, registration area, playground, register area, pharmacy, and radiology area which are reachable in the emergency room.

Abstract

This design works will design The Roaring Twenties & Speakeasy Bar Restaurant with American style in the 1920s. The advance of the urban lifestyle demands that people get more entertainment to release stress and busyness. Places for entertainment are most visited by the public are restaurant and lounge. With the services and food dishes that visitors can feel comfortable. Many various types of restaurants, lounges and bars according to the Author still can’t adequately meet the needs of society. In this restaurant, the concept will be used by the author in designing the restaurant The Roaring Twenties & Speakeasy Bar is a classic and stately using the Art Deco style. Author using design thinking as design process. Author conducted observations and interviews of similar restaurants and also to the visitor of the restaurant. This restaurant not only serves food, but also able to relax linger and socialize with around while enjoying live music and serving snacks at the lounge and bar. Classy and magnificent concept is intended which when visitors arrive can immediately feel the splendid in the days of the 1920s.
