Abstract

Research objective is to determine the effect of memory training: anagram toward the improvement of cognitive function in the elderly in nursing homes Catur Nugraha Kaliori, Banyumas. Sampling study conducted purposive sampling with the inclusion criteria including the age of 60-74 years, at least primary school education, and able to communicate well. The data collection was done before and after memory training: assessment anagram using the MMSE (Mini Mental State Examination). The data collection were analyzed by using Mc. Neemar Test and Chi Square Test. The results was based on Mc. Neemar Test, the intervention group has data ρ value = 0,001 (p less than 0,05) and the control group has ρ value = 0,031(p less than 0,05), therefore the score ρ value of the intervention group is more significant to increase the cognitif function of the elderly. Moreover, according to Chi Square test can be concluded that ρ value = 0,018 with (p less than 0,05), it means Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, then, there is a difference value between the intervention group and the control group. Conclusion can be drawn that Memory Training: Anagram can improve cognitive function in the elderly more greater than Brain Gym.

Abstract

Hynosis therapy was developed as a part of independent nursing intervention to release the intense of pain that cervical cancer patients suffer from. Therefore, the goal of this research is to investigate the effect of hypnosis therapy towards decreasing the intense of pain that the patients with cervical cancer in the stage III hospitalized in surgical ward.  The research method was pre and post test design without control group. The intervention was hypnosis therapy that was provided by nurse expert in that field towards cervical cancer patient in the stage III. 6 patients were invited in this study and were provided hypnosis therapy. The measuring pain scale  (0-10) was given before and after the therapy. The research showed that there was decreasing the intense of pain from 6,33 to 5,17 after hynosis therapy. Moreover, the verbal complains also changed from crying to only moan after the therapy.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to investigate the effect of using assertive leaflet towards the obedience consuming the drugs and motivation of recovering from tuberculosis. The research design is quasy experiment. Pre and post test with control group design was used in this research. The result of the research shows that there was a significant results in the intervention group group before and after using assertive leaflet towards the obedience consuming the drugs whereas p value 0,008 less than 0,05, on the other hand there was no change before and after in the control group. Moreover, in term of motivation of recovering from tuberculosis, the intervention group has p value 0,007 less than 0,05.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the differences in methods of tutorials learning with recitation of the knowledge, attitude and skills of students in promoting health. The populations in this research are 333 nursing students at Purwokerto Nursing Department. Then, we use a cluster sampling method where 80 nursing students at second grade are divided into two groups, an intervention group, consists of 40 students and a control group, consists of 40 students. Then, the data collection is done by using questionnaire and observation sheets. The data obtained were analyzed using the paired t test to analyze differences in each pre and post experiment group. Then, in order to determine the difference between the two methods we use independent sample t test. The research shows that there is increasing average value before and after the use of tutorial method and recitation method. The test results of Independent Sample T test is 0.005. With significance 0,000, it can be concluded that the use of tutorial method is more effective to improve knowledge, attitudes and skills of students in health promotion compared with recitation method.
