Abstract

Capital Market Act 1995 does not distinguish between the conventional capital market with the Islamic capital market. This raises some questions about the concepts and principles of Islamic capital markets, as well as the trading mechanism in the Islamic capital market. To answer these questions, this study aims to determine the difference between the conventional capital market based on the principles of Islamic capital markets and capital market concepts, application of capital market trading mechanisms in conventional versus Islamic capital market, and the meaning of investment according to Islamic Shari'a. To explain the purpose of this research, engineering studies and documents through a literature study will describe the rules concerning the capital market both conventional and Islamic. Based on the research results can be explained that the conventional capital market concepts and principles are not much different from the Islamic capital market. The only difference is the emphasis on the type of issuer and the securities to be traded in accordance with Islamic principles. While trade execution procedure between the conventional capital market and Islamic capital markets are no different, namely by using JATS (Jakarta Autometed Trading System). The difference lies only in contracts used in the transaction. Meanwhile, the investment can’t be separated from the Islamic Shari'a because investment is allowed in Islam, however, in contrast to speculative investments.

This study aims to describe how the implementation of information security in border areas, especially in Riau province, through the operational concept of David L. Weimer and Aidan R. Vining. This research uses a qualitative approach through a case study, namely Rupat Island. The data collection method in this study was through observations in border areas and interviews with government employees of Bengkalis Regency and border communities, which were carried out from January 2021 to November 2021. The results showed that information security in border areas led to improved telecommunications infrastructure, which proliferated. Apart from that, local governments continue to build access to public information. However, border communities are still lagging in television and radio broadcasting. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of corporate governance, capital intensity, and financial distress on accounting conservatism with leverage as a moderating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach on 18 insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2023 period, with a total of 54 observational data obtained through a purposive sampling method. Secondary data were obtained from financial reports and analyzed using panel data regression and Moderating Regression Analysis (MRA) using EViews 12 software. The results of the study indicate that partially, institutional ownership, managerial ownership, independent commissioners, capital intensity, and financial distress do not have a significant effect on accounting conservatism (p > 0.05). The results of the MRA test also show that leverage is unable to moderate the effect of institutional ownership, managerial ownership, independent commissioners, and capital intensity on accounting conservatism. However, leverage is proven to weaken the effect of financial distress on accounting conservatism (β = -0.0377 p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.4456 shows that the independent variable is able to explain accounting conservatism by 44.56%, while the remainder is influenced by other factors outside the research model.

Abstract

Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) in Palembang organizes various higher education programs, from diplomas to PhDs. In this study, we perform data analysis using linear regression methods and predictive modeling techniques. In this connection, a survey was conducted among UIGM Computer Science Engineering course students to collect the necessary data. Data generated from surveys is used to predict future student choices when choosing a course of study. According to the forecast results, 12 students choose Intelligent Computer and Vision (KCV) majors, and 84 students choose Software Engineering (RPL) majors. Due to data limitations, these predictions may not be completely accurate. However, more complete data can help improve prediction accuracy. Therefore, it is important to collect more complete and representative data to improve prediction accuracy. The more complete the data, the more accurate the forecast results, which can provide more precise guidance in decision-making about your area of expertise. This study contributes to the application of linear regression and predictive modeling techniques in higher education and highlights the importance of comprehensive data collection to support better predictive outcomes.
