Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the characterization in the novel of Kalompang and to design a lesson plan for Senior High Students. The method used in the research was descriptive qualitative. The result of the research showed that the novel of Kalompang had five kinda of character in which the main characters were played by Mattali and Rofiqah, additional characters were played by Hasan, Hamidi, Qidam, Sonhaji, and Adnan, protagonist was played by Mattali, antagonist was played by Durahman, simple character was played by Durahman and Kiai Karnawi, developing character was played by Mattali, and typical character was played by Sonhaji. The characters were revealed by conversation technique, behaviour technique, mind, and feelings technique, characters' reaction technique, and background description technique. The novel of Kalompang can be used in a lesson plan during Senior High School learning process.Masalah pada penelitian ini yaitu bagaimanakah penokohan dalam novel Kalompang dan rancangan pembelajarannya di SMA. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan penokohan dan mendeskripsikan rancangan pembelajarannya di SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel Kalompang memiliki lima jenis tokoh yaitu tokoh utama diperankan Mattali dan Rofiqah, tokoh tambahan diperankan Hasan, Hamidi, Qidam, Sonhaji, dan Adnan, tokoh protagonis diperankan Mattali, tokoh antagonis diperankan Durahman, tokoh sederhana diperankan Durahman dan Kiai Karnawi, tokoh berkembang diperankan Mattali, dan tokoh tipikal diperankan Sonhaji. Tokoh-tokoh tersebut diungkap dengan teknik cakapan, teknik tingkah laku, teknik pikiran dan perasaan, teknik reaksi tokoh, teknik reaksi tokoh lain, dan teknik pelukisan latar. Novel Kalompang dapat dijadikan rancangan pembelajarannya pada pembelajaran di SMA.Kata kunci: dramatik, tokoh, rancangan.

Abstract

Karang Gading Wildlife Reserve East Langkat is a mangrove protection area that has great potential for carbon sequestration. This research aims to determine the amount of biomass content, level of carbon uptake and comparison of carbon dioxide uptake in four types of mangrove leaves (Rhizophora apiculata, Bruguiera parviflora, Avicenia alba, Xylocarpus granatum) in Selotong Village. Sampling was carried out at three stations determined by purposive sampling, each with three replicate samples. Mangrove leaves are analyzed in the laboratory by measuring the water content and ash content using the Loi (loss on ignation) method. The results showed that carbon uptake materials from highest to lowest respectively was Rhizophora apiculata 28.4 ± 0.6 (g/g-dry), Bruguiera parviflora 27.6 ± 0.3 (g/g-dry), Xylocarpus granatum 26.3 ± 2.3 (g/g-dry) and Avicennia alba 25. .7 ± 1.8 (g/g-dry). Statistical analysis of the length, width and thickness of the leaves of the 4 types of mangrove leaves showed no difference in CO2 absorption capacity.
