Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetahui apakah ada peningkatan prestasi belajar membaca siswa yang signifikan setelah penerapan teknik STAD. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung. Soal pretest dan posttest membaca diberikan untuk mengumpulkan data. Satu kelompok pre-test post-test digunakan sebagai desain penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada pencapaian pemahaman membaca siswa setelah penerapan teknik STADdengan tingkat signifikansi (0,00) lebih kecil dari alpha (0,00 0,05). Oleh karena itu, peneliti merekomendasikan Teknik STAD untuk diterapkan sebagai teknik dalam pengajaran membaca.Abstract. This research was aimed at finding out whether there was a significant improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement after the implementation of STAD technique. This research was conducted at SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung. The reading pretest and post test were administered to collect the data. One group pre-test post-test was used as the design of the research. The results of this research showed that there was a satisfying significant improvement of students’ reading comprehension achievement after the implementation of STAD technique with the significant level (0.00) smaller than the alpha (0.000.05). Therefore, the researcher recommends STAD Technique to be applied as a technique in teaching reading.Keywords: STAD technique, reading comprehension, aspect of reading.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu apakah ada atau tidak peningkatan yang statistik dari pencapaian siswa dalam berbicara setelah siswa diajarkan melalui What Am I? Game. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest-posttest. Penelitian ini melibatkan 30 siswa kelas 8D SMP di Lampung Selatan. Tes berbicara dalam bentuk mendeskripsikan gambar digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan yang statistik dari pencapaian siswa dalam berbicara dengan signifikan tingkat 0.05. Sehingga dapat disarankan bahwa permainan memudahkan siswa untuk meningkatkan pencapaian berbicara mereka. Abstract. This research was intended to find out whether or not there is a statistically improvement of students’ speaking achievement after the students were taught through What Am I? Game. The research employed one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 30 students of class VIII D senior high school in Southern Lampung. The speaking test in the form of picture description was used to collect the data. The findings revealed that there was a statistically improvement of the students’ speaking achievement with the significant at level 0.05. This suggests that the game facilitates the students to improve their speaking achievement.Keywords: game, influence, speaking achievement.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada peningkatan dalam kemampuan membaca siswa dan aspek membaca apa yang paling meningkat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitative. Sasaran penelitian ini sebanyak 25 siswa SMP. Tes membaca digunakan sebagai alat untuk pengumpulan data. Hasil menunjukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan peningkatan yang signifikan kemampuan membaca siswa dengan tingkat signifikan 0.00.05. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa summarizing activity dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa.The aims of this study were to find out whether there was a statistically siqnificant improvement of students reading comprehension ability. This reasearch was quantitative research. The subjects of this research were 25 junior high school students. The reading test was administrated as the instrument of this research. The result showed that there was a statistically siqnificant improvement of the students reading comprehension ability with the siqnificant level 0.000.05. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti: i) peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa melalui penerapan teknik TPS dan ii) hambatan yang dihadapi siswa selama penerapan teknik TPS. Data diperoleh dari pre-test, post-test dan lembar pengamatan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan secara statistik pada pencapaian pemahaman membaca siswa dengan tingkat signifikan (0.000.05). Hasil dari lembar pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa rendahnya penguasaan kosakata dan kesulitan menginterpretasi ide dalam text adalah hambatan utama yang dihadapi siswa selama penerapan TPS. Bagaimanapun, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknik TPS dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa.The objectives of this study were to investigate: i) the students improvement on reading comprehension achievement after they were taught through TPS technique and ii) the students constraints during the implementation of TPS technique. The data were obtained from the pre-test, the post-test, and the observation sheet. The result showed that there was a statistically significant improvement of students reading comprehension as the significant level (0.000.05). Furthermore, the results of the observation sheet showed that low vocabulary mastery and difficulty in interpreting the idea of the text became the major constraints encountered by the students during the implementation of TPS. However, this suggests that TPS technique can be applicable to improve students reading comprehension.Key words: reading, reading comprehension, TPS technique

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti peningkatan kemampuan menulis teks recount siswa setelah pengimplementasian strategi semantic mapping dalam peer feedback. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam penelitian kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 31 siswa X MIPA2 SMAN 1 Rumbia. Tes menulis digunakan sebagai alat untuk pengambilan data. Data dianalisis menggunakan Paired Sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa yang signifikan dengan tingkat signifikansi p=0.000.05. Hasil dari penelitian ini menganjurkan bahwa strategi semantic mapping dalam peer feedback dapat memfasilitasi siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks recount.The objective of this research was to investigate the improvement of students recount text writing achievement after the implementation of semantic mapping strategy in peer feedback. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari motivasi siswa kejuruan sebelum dan sesudah aplikasi blended learning. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian kuantitatif yang menggunakan one group pre-test post-test design. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri 26 siswa kejuruan yang dipilih secara purposive. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner motivasi. Paired-sample t-test digunakan untuk menganalisis perbedaan yang signifikan dari motivasi siswa kejuruan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dari motivasi siswa sebelum dan sesudah blended learning, dengan nilai t-ratio 6.468 yang berarti lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan t-table 2.056. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat dijelaskan bahwa blended learning masih merupakan salah satu cara yang direkomendasi untuk meningkatkan motivasi siswa kejuruan karena memberikan banyak kesempatan untuk bisa mengeksplorasi kebutuhan dan potensi mereka, demikian juga fleksibilitas waktu dan tempat yang membuat siswa bisa mengunjungi kembali materi belajarnya dengan mudah dan nyaman.This research was aimed to find out whether there is a significant difference of the vocational students motivation before and after blended learning. This research was carried out using a quantitative study with one group pre-test post-test design. The subject number of 26 vocational students was taken purposively. The instrument used was the motivation questionnaire. This study used paired-sample t-test to answer the significant differences of students motivation. The result of the analyses indicated that there was a significant difference of students' motivation before and after blended learning, within t-ratio 6.468 which means that it was higher than t-table 2.056. Based on the findings, it is perceived that blended learning is still one of the advocated ways to enhance the vocational students motivation since it provides a lot of opportunities to explore their needs and potentials, as well as place and time flexibility for learning which enables the students to revisit the language easily and comfortably.Keywords: blended learning, enhance, motivation

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis jenis-jenis Teacher’s Talk dan Students’ Talk yang muncul di kelas berbahasa Inggris dan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) dalam interaksi di kelas. Yang menjadi target penelitian adalah guru dan para siswa kelas tiga sekolah dasar di kelas berbahasa Inggris. Peneliti menggunakan Flanders Analysis Interaksi Categori (FIAC) sebagai pedoman untuk menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CLT memberikan efek positif bagi guru dan siswa dalam berinteraksi di kelas.The objectives of the research are to analyze the types of teacher’s talk and students’ talk occurring in the observed English speaking classes. In addition, this research aimed to find out whether there is an effect of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) setting in the interaction. The researcher took teacher and the young learners (third grade students of elementary school) in the English speaking classesas the target of the research. The researcher used Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories (FIAC) as the guidelines to analyze the data. The result showed that CLT setting gives the positive effect for the teacher and student to have an interaction in the classroom.Keywords: CLT, FIAC, interaction, students’ talk, teacher’s talk.

Ini menunjukan bahwa teknik STAD memfasilitasi siswa untuk meningkatkan pencapaian pemahaman membaca mereka. Abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan yang signifikan dari penguasaan kosakata siswa yang ditemukan dalam membaca setelah siswa diajar dengan menggunakan strategi pemetaan kata untuk siswa kelas satu di SMP N 3 Jati Agung dan respon siswa terhadap kata strategi pemetaan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 32 siswa kelas VII C dan menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test satu kelompok sebagai desain penelitian. Instrumen untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes membaca dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari penguasaan kosakata siswa dan respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa mereka sangat setuju (4.20) bahwa strategi pemetaan kata adalah strategi yang efektif dalam pengajaran ini. Ini berarti bahwa strategi itu baik untuk digunakan dalam pengajaran kosa kata.Abstract. The aims of this research were to find out a significant improvement of the students’ mastery of vocabulary found in reading after the students were taught by using word mapping strategy to the first-grade student at SMP N 3 Jati Agung and students’ responses toward word mapping strategy. This research was a quantitative research. The subjects of this research were 32 students of the class VII C and used one group pre-test and post-test design as the research design. The instruments for collecting the data were a reading test and a questionnaire. The result showed that there was a significant improvement of the students’ vocabulary mastery and the students’ responses showed that they strongly agreed (4.20) that word mapping strategy was effective strategy in this teaching. It means that word mapping strategy is good to be used in teaching vocabulary.Keywords: vocabulary, vocabulary mastery, word mapping strategy.
