Abstract

Stunting adalah masalah kurang gizi kronis yang disebabkan oleh asupan gizi yang kurang dalam waktu yang cukup lama akibat pemberian makanan yang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan gizi. Indonesia menduduki urutan ke-5 negara yang memiliki penderita stunting terbanyak di dunia, Jawa barat menduduki urutan ke-12 dalam posisi prevalensi stunting anak berusia di bawah lima tahun di Indonesia dengan prevalensi sebesar 29,2% termasuk untuk wilayah Kabupaten Sumedang. Data menunjukkan bahwa di Kabupaten Sumedang, khususnya Kecamatan Jatinangor, memiliki angka kejadian stunting cukup tinggi, dan Desa Hegarmanah merupakan salah satu desa dengan tingkat stunting yang cukup tinggi di Kecamatan Jatinangor. Melalui kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PPM) Prioritas di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Jatinangor, tim pelaksana PPM melakukan pemberdayaan terhadap kader kesehatan di Kawasan Desa Hegarmanah, Jatinangor mengenai pencegahan dan penatalaksanaan stunting dengan tujuan untuk membantu kader kesehatan dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan kewaspadaan terjadinya stunting pada anak serta bagaimana cara menanggulangi dan mengatasinya. Khalayak sasaran pada kegiatan ini adalah kader kesehatan di Desa Hegarmanah sejumlah 60 orang. Metode kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan ceramah, simulasi, diskusi, dan praktikum. Pengukuran pengetahuan pada kegiatan ini diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner pretest dan posttest, sedangkan pengukuran kemampuan psikomotor berdasarkan lembar cheklist observasi. Data dianalisis dengan distribusi frekuensi, nilai mean, dan dependent t-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan rata-rata skor pengetahuan kader sebelum (54,7±15,2) dan setelah (66,2±16,3) kegiatan pemberdayaan, dengan rata-rata peningkatan skor 11,5±15,5 (p=0,000;α=0,05). Pada kemampuan psikomotor kader menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan setelah dilakukan kegiatan. Melalui kegiatan ini pengetahuan dan kemampuan kader kesehatan dapat meningkat dalam pencegahan dan penatalaksanaan stunting pada anak. Hasil kegiatan ini merekomendasikan perlunya rencana tindak lanjut yaitu pencegahan dan penatalaksanaan stunting pada anak oleh kader kesehatan yang sudah dilatih dan dilakukan evaluasi secara berkelanjutan bekerjasama dengan Puskesmas Jatinangor.

Abstract

The incidence of cancer in children is increasing and has entered into the top ten most prevalent diseases in children. Cancer in children have an impact both physical and psychosocial changes that can occur as a result of the disease and the side effects of treatment. The treatment for children with cancer should be done continuously and lasts a long time, so the role of parents in supporting the treatment is very important. Parents are the important factors to implementation of family centered care in the treatment and care for children with cancer. The implementation of family centered care is influenced by the self efficacy belief of parents. This study aimed to identify parental self efficacy in the treatment of children with cancer at the Rumah Kanker Anak Cinta Bandung. This study used a descriptive quantitative. The sample in this study was chosen by consecutive sampling, and found 40 samples within a month. Data collection using questionnaires developed based on Bandura theory (1997). Data was analyzed using descriptive analyzes by frequency and persentation. The results showed that the majority of parents who have children with cancer have a high self efficacy as many as 23 people (57.5%). Parents who have children with cancer in this study had a high ability or confidence (self efficacy) in treating children with cancer. So that it can be very supportive for the process of care, treatment, and cure of children, which expected to improve the quality of life for children with cancer.

Abstract

Introduction: Infants with low birth weight (LBW) is a major risk factor for increased morbidity and mortality rate. LBW infants that getting treatment in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) will be exposed to various environments and excessive stimulus with various procedures performed that causing stress on the infant. Management strategies that can be done to reduce stress of the excessive stimulus is with developmental care. This literature review is aimed to identify the effectiveness of developmental care on physiological functions of LBW infants in the NICU. Method: Articles were collected from several databases including Medline, CINAHL, EBSCOhost, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Proquest. The keywords were developmental care, low birth weight infant, neonatal intensive care unit, and physiological function were searched for quantitative studies. The articles reviewed were only articles with full text, written in English, and published during period 2013 to 2018. The study was criticized by the author using the Critical Appraisal Tool from JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute). It found 10 articles that related specifically to developmental care on LBW infants in the NICU. Result: Implementation of developmental care for infants in the NICU effective in optimizing the physiological functions of infant, including lowering the pulse and frequency of breath that makes the infant more relaxed. Developmental care can also improve oxygen saturation, reduce pain, reduce gastro esophageal reflux, increase sleep time, and improve neuromuscular maturity. Conclusion: Developmental care facilitate the infant more relaxed. The infant needs regularity of physiological functions and achieving restful sleep to grow and thrive.
