Abstract

Landfill activities can produce leachate water that can be infiltrated into the soil so that it can pollute the surrounding well water.. This study aims to map the distribution of leachate water to the quality of shallow groundwater around TPA. Sampling of well water owned by residents is 100-700 meters from the TPA and 2 leachate water sample points of the Sukosari TPA. The parameters of leachate water and well water analyzed include, pH, BOD, COD. The quality standard for shallow groundwater quality used is the class I quality standard of Government Regulation No.82 of 2001, while the leachate water quality standard used is the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia No P.59 / Menlhk / Setjen / Kum.1 / 7/2016. The quality of shallow groundwater around the Sukosari TPA is polluted with leachate water judging from the parameters of pH, BOD and COD. The pH parameter does not meet the quality standards, the BOD value that meets the quality standards is only 6.7,8.9. COD value that meets the quality standards is only the location of the well 7. The effect of leachate water derived from the Sukosari TPA on well water quality showed a positive correlation for the pH parameter, namely with a value coefficient of 0.911 and for the BOD and COD parameters showed a negative correlation, namely with a BOD value of -0.657 and a COD value of -0.628 and there was a significant relationship. Abstract

One of the greenhouse gases that causes climate change is the emission of methane (CH4) produced by landfills. The methane comes from the anaerobic decomposition of organic matter in the waste at the landfill. The purpose of this study is to estimate methane emissions at the Piyungan landfill, Bantul, Yogyakarta, from 2021 to 2025 using IPCC method. No similar work has been conducted so far, especially in the Piyungan landfill. The result shows that methane emissions produced at the Piyungan landfill in 2021 is 544.05 tons with a total waste generation of 549.49 tons/year and is dominated by 88% organic waste. Meanwhile from 20,786 tons of waste generated in 2025, the methane emissions are estimated to be 573.85 tons. To minimize the methane emission from Piyungan landfill, it is recommended mitigation and adaptation efforts, i.e., the 3R method (reduce, reuse, recycle), the composting of organic waste, the addition of gas ventilation pipes. The methane gas from the Piyungan landfill should be explored as alternative energy fuel in future work.

Abstract

Industri tekstil menghasilkan limbah cair berwarna yang dapat menyebabkan pencemaran air dan bersifat toksis bagi bioindikator (ganggang dan ikan). Penelitian ini menggunakan ikan sebagai bioindikator untuk menentukan tingkat pencemaran limbah industri yang dibuang ke sungai. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pencemaran air di Sungai Blader di Cilacap setelah menerima limbah industri tekstil, berdasarkan koefisien nilai nutrisi (NVC: Nutrition Value Coeficient) ikan yang hidup di sungai ini, serta mengetahui kualitas air sungai tersebut berdasarkan parameter fisik dan kimia. Lokasi Penelitian adalah di Sungai Blader Cilacap yang merupakan tempat pembuangan limbah cair industri tekstil. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam tiga tahap selama tiga bulan. Tahap pertama adalah penentuan koefisien nutrisi bioindikator (ikan uji) dan pemeriksaan kualitas air Sungai Blader yang dilakukan di lokasi penelitian. Tahap kedua adalah analisis limbah industri tekstil di Laboratorium Teknik Lingkungan IST AKPRIND Yogyakarta. Tahap terakhir adalah analisis data dan pembuatan laporan penelitian. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa limbah cair industri tekstil yang dibuang di Sungai Blader Cilacap, dapat menurunkan koefisien nilai nutrisi ikan uji (ikan betik / Anabas testudineus, BL) menjadi 1,53- 1,63 yang berarti tidak memenuhi syarat untuk dikonsumsi manusia. Dilihat dari parameter temperatur, pH, CO2, kekeruhan dan O2 terlarut kualitas air Sungai Blader di lokasi pembuangan limbah industri tekstil, mengalami pencemaran lebih berat dibandingkan lokasi pengamatan lain. Limbah industri tekstil yang dibuang di Sungai Blader Cilacap, sebagian parameternya masih memenuhi syarat baku mutu air limbah yang berlaku di Jawa Tengah, hanya ada tiga parameter yang melebihi standar baku yaitu COD, pH air, dan ammonia bebas.

Abstract

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the discovery of a new coronavirus. This disease occurs as a result of COVID-19 infection in the respiratory tract. Transmission of this disease occurs due to droplets when sneezing. Prevention and slowdown of transmission can be done by implementing health protocols. Respiratory etiquette includes using a mask, washing hands with a hand sanitizer, and using a safe hand-sanitizer stand. The propose of this social wellfare is to condact training on the manufacture of hansanitizer and foot hand sanitizer stands that are safe, inexpensive, and easy to manufacture and are needed by residents who are economically affected during the pandemic. The result of this service to the community has resulted in a hand-sanitizer stand prototype design that is easy and inexpensive to be made independently by the district.

Abstract

Member of the dasa wisma group RT 06 Dusun Niten, Nogotirto, Kapanewon Gamping, Sleman  still grates the coconut manually, so the grated coconut yields 6 kg/hour. To increase the grated coconut with a larger capacity, the Dasa Wisma group needs a coconut grater machine. The AKPRIND Yogyakarta Institute of Science & Technology community service team provided training and handed over machine assistance to the dasa homestead group RT 06 Dusun Niten, Nogotirto, Kapanewon Gamping and provided training on how to operate and maintain coconut grater machines and how to store grated coconut properly. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide knowledge to the dasa wisma group RT 06 Dusun Niten, Nogotirto, Kapanewon Gamping how to operate, maintain the coconut grater machine, and store the grated coconut properly so that the machine lasts longer and the grated coconut doesn't rot, and the handover of a coconut shredding machine with a capacity of 40 kg / hour. Through this community service activity, it is hoped that Dasa Wisma Members and community members in RT 06, RW 12, Niten, Nogotirto Village, Gamping District, Sleman Regency can operate, maintain coconut shredding machines and be able to increase the production capacity of grated coconut by 800% when compared to using manual labor and can store grated coconut properly, so that it is expected to improve the community's economy. Community members positively assess and agree with this community service activity.

Abstract

Recycling is one way to manage plastic waste. If recycled, plastic waste in the form of bottles, glasses or other plastic waste has a fairly high selling value. The waste bank in Salakan Bangunharjo Bantul has been quite engaged in the plastic waste processing business. One of the activities of this waste bank is to collect and sort plastic waste from the community, but it has not been maximized because of space constraints and also does not have a plastic waste shredder. Therefore, the Abdimas Team from the Department of Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, AKPRIND University Indonesia, designed and made a plastic waste shredding machine. The method carried out is to conduct plastic waste management training through waste banks, the use and maintenance of plastic waste shredding machines and the delivery of plastic waste shredding machines. The purpose of this service activity is so that the waste bank in Salakan can carry out the plastic waste recycling process optimally, so that it can increase the economic value of the plastic waste. The capacity of this plastic waste shredder is 20 Kg/hour using a gasoline motor as a propulsion, and has specifications of 66 cm in length, 38.5 cm in width and 80 cm in height. Based on the results of the survey using questionnaires, this service activity can be said to be successful because community members, especially members and administrators of waste banks in Salakan, have become more aware of the benefits of plastic waste sorting, the operation and maintenance of plastic waste shredders, and positively assess and agree with this community service activity.

Abstract

Produksi dan konsumsi masyarakat yang tidak dikelola dengan bijak telah menjadi pemicu utama timbulnya permasalahan sampah, baik di Indonesia maupun di dunia. Untuk mengurangi volume sampah sekaligus memberikan nilai tambah secara ekonomi, konsep 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) menjadi solusi yang relevan. Sampah nonorganik dapat didaur ulang menjadi kerajinan atau produk daur ulang, sedangkan sampah organik dapat diolah menjadi pakan ternak, biogas, dan pupuk kompos. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di wilayah RW 22 Notoyudan, Kelurahan Pringgokusuman, Kecamatan Gedongtengen, Kota Yogyakarta dengan tujuan memberikan edukasi kepada warga dalam mengelola sampah rumah tangga melalui pendirian bank sampah berbasis konsep 3R. Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya menjaga kualitas lingkungan serta mendorong pemberdayaan ekonomi melalui pemanfaatan sampah. Kontribusi konkret dari kegiatan ini antara lain adalah terbentuknya bank sampah dan tersampaikannya edukasi mengenai pengelolaan sampah kepada warga, yang diperkuat dengan bantuan mesin pencacah sampah untuk mendukung keberlanjutan program. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih, sehat, dan berdaya secara ekonomi.
