Abstract

Abstract

Academic Information System is an essential system in performing academic activities. Universitas Brawijaya are using Academic Information System named SIAKAD-UB. SIAKAD-UB is an information systems that deal with all kinds of student details and academic related reports. SIAKAD-UB encountered many problems along with the growth of data. This study aims to discover factor impact on problems of interface usability found in existing SIAKAD-UB using Heuristic Evaluation and Think Aloud method. This study involving 3 experts and 3 operators with the purpose of the evaluation received input from the experts and users. The result of experiment are find 3 problem heuristic with score 0 which mean no usability problem, 7 problem heuristic with score 1 which mean medium priority refinement, 7 problem heuristic with score 2 which mean low priority refinement, 7 problem heuristic with score 3 which mean high priority refinement. Heuristic evaluation and think aloud find 7 aspect refinement are Visibility of system status, Match between system and the real world, User control and freedom, Consistency and standards, Recognition rather than recall, Flexibility and efficiency of use, Help and documentation.

Abstract

The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic leaves great number of human deaths since its first emergence. The Balinese that praise death through rituals should make some adjustment as there are some religious and traditional activities restriction to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Studies on human rituals have indicated lifelong changes, including in funeral rituals. This research addresses the meaning and adjustment of the death rituals employing various sources and perspectives. Benefiting the investigative study, this research explores the impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic to the adaptation of death rituals practices by the Balinese. The research was conducted in Tabanan in the period from May-September 2021. The qualitative research design with focus on observation, in-depth interviews, and visual documentation of family members who lost other family members due to COVID-19 was employed. Data analysis was performed through inductive thematic analysis for data interpretation. Research results indicated that the experience of the sudden loss of family members due to COVID-19 is worsened because of the absence of the proper funeral rituals. The absence of rituals eliminates the social connections and social functions as it serves function as the social-cultural support to accept death. Additionally, it also diminish the grieving period as well as reducing the role of the traditional social institutions (desa adat) as the social-cultural supporter.  This paper offers the deeper elaboration on how the Pandemic Covid-19 has affected the Balinese in overcoming death both socially and culturally.

Abstract

This article originated from studies that posed questions on the influence of Wonosobo for Human Rights Friendly City implementation in relation to religious tolerance in Buntu Village, Kejajar District. The study aims to identify the impact of the Human Rights Friendly City status that Wonosobo bears on the increasing religious tolerance in Buntu Village. Religious tolerance, which serves as one of Wonosobo's focuses on the Human Rights City agenda, becomes the limitation of this study. The time frame of this research ranges from 2016-2020, especially after the promulgation of Regional Government of Kabupaten Wonosobo Regulation Number 5 of 2016 concerning Wonosobo Regency for Human Rights Friendly City. This study uses a qualitative approach as its research method while utilizing interviews and literature studies as its data collection methods. It is worth noting that Buntu Village already possessed religious diversity and a high level of tolerance in its society even before the Human Right Friendly City policy was ratified as one of Wonosobo’s priorities. However, this study finds that tolerance in Buntu Village runs naturally without any external intervention. The Human Rights Friendly City status plays a tiny role in improving the quality of tolerance in Buntu Village. Hence, our study suggests that it is necessary for the regional government to increase the level of seriousness to continuously implement the program in the form of budget politics or other development programs.

Abstract

The Internet becomes an important need in society. The problem that is often faced by the public to access the internet is a slow connection and unstable internet service provider. Multiconnection is one solution that can be used to make access to the Internet network for better. Multiconnnection requires a technique called load balancing and failover. It is used to maximize throughput so that access to the internet becomes more stable and faster. Implementing load balancing and failover requires routerOS to be able to control incoming packets. RouterOS that features load balancing and failover are Mikrotik and Zeroshell. In this study will apply and compare the performance of load balancing and failover that is applied to router Mikrotik and Zeroshell. The load balancing method used in Mikrotik is nth and in Zeroshell uses round-robin method. Based on the results of the study concluded both routerOS can run very well with load balancing and failover. The result of load balancing performance applied to MikroTik using nth method has higher throughput value compared to the throughput value applied to Zeroshell load balancing. Performance results on failover tests applied to Mikrotik have a smaller delay value compared to the failover test applied to Zeroshell.

Abstract

Conflict is a necessity. Despite being a necessity, the handling can be engineered through careful planning. Chicken game approach in a game theory is an analytical instrument that can be used to prevent the occurrence of conflicts without the need to avoid it. Conflict resolution is the next stage when the conflict occurs. Adequate conflict resolution will not only ease the conflict, but even could become an instrument of empowerment. Indonesia's infrastructure development experiences often cause a tension. Those experiences become the basis so that the similar events do not recur in the future. It is intended that innovation of sustainable infrastructure development is not impeded. In fact, it is expected to accelerate in order to achieve the national interest. Keywords: chicken game approach, conflict resolution, infrastructure development
