Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemanfaatan rimpang temulawak (Curcuma xanthoriza, Roxb) yang ditambahkan dengan level terukur  pada pakan bertujuan meningkatkan performan itik Mojosari. Metode penelitian dengan  eksperimen percobaan dan   analisis data Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan P0: kontrol; P1 : 0,2%; P2: 0,4%  dan P3: 0.6% rimpang temulawak  ditambahkan dalam setiap kilogram pakan. Materi   percobaan  itik mojosari jantan periode starter sebanyak 48 ekor, umur 2 – 6 minggu,   bobot badan awal (268.37±9.33) g, dengan koefisien keragaman sebesar 6.05%. Variabel yang diukur ialah konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan. Hasil menunjukan  penambahan tepung temulawak pada pakan dengan level 0,2%, 0,4% dan 0.6% per kg pakan ialah rata–rata konsumsi pakan: 110.50 – 110.63 g/ekor/hr, pertambahan bobot badan masing-masing P0: 740.78±14.68; P1: 776.09±12.85,; P2: 731.05±6.85, P3: 732.70±23.80 dan konversi pakan sebesar 3.97 – 4.26%. Kesimpulannya ialah penambahan tepung temulawak dengan level 0,2% per kilogram pakan memberikan respon terbaik terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan berbanding lurus dengan menurunnya konversi pakan.   Kata kunci: Itik mojosari, Curcuma  xanthorhiza Roxb, konsumsi pakan ,konversi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan THE EFFECT OF ADDING  Curcuma xanthoriza , Roxb TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF MOJOSARI DUCK ABSTRACT The purpose of the study is finding out the effect of adding Curcuma xanthoriza Roxb to production of Mojosari duck in starter. The research method is the experiment with data analysis using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The materials are 48 male Mojosari ducks starter period initial body weight was 263.88±15.97 g, Coeficient variation 6,05%. The treatment used is P0: control; P1: 0.2%; P2: 0.4% and P3: 0.6% is added in every kilogram of feed. Results showed that the addition of Curcuma xanthoriza in the diet at levels of 0.2%, 0.4% and 0.6% per kg of feed is the average feed consumption: 110.50 - 110.63g/tail/day , body weight gain each P0: 740.78 ± 14.68 g; P1: 776.09 ± 12.85 g; P2: 731.05 ± 6.85 g; P3: 732.70 ± 23.80 g, and feed conversion of 3.97-4.26%. The conclusion is that the addition of Curcuma xanthoriza Roxb powder with a level of 0.2% per kilogram of diet gave the best response to body weight gain and proportional  feed conversion.   Keyword : Mojosari duck, Curcuma xanthoriza Roxb  , feed consumsion, body weight  gain, feed conversion

Abstract

The purpose on this research was to find out the effect of chickendensity in the cageonfeed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion of Arabic chicken for grower phase. The material used were 50 birds of Arabic chicken attheage of 60 days with average initial body weight of 743.5 ± 67.28. The variables observed in this study were the feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion. The method used was experiment using Completely Randomized Design consist of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The obtained data were analyzed by using ANOVA followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT).The results of this study showed that there was no significant different between house density on body weight gain and feed conversion, but there was avery significantly different (P<0.01) on feed intake. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the better chickendensity in the cage for Arabic chicken at grower phase uses 4 birds / 1200 cm2 birds/m2, because it performed better body weight gain and feed conversion. So, it is suggested that the farmer would likely to use chickendensity in the cage at 4 birds / 1200 cm2for Arabic chicken of grower phase.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of litter system and interaction of both different level of cage density grower arab chicken. The material used were 48 arabic chicken at grower period which the age 2 months and the average weight 701.7±94.37 g  and the value SD 13.45%. The method used in this study was experimented with completely randomized design (CRD) factorial patterns. First factor was litter system  dan  second factor was the level of cage density. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) , if there was different followed by duncan multiple range test. The results showed that litter system of cage was not showed any significant effect (P>0.05) on feed consumption, weight growth and  feed conversion. The level of cage density was gave significant different (P<0.01) on feed consumption, weight growth and feed conversion. Interaction between litter system and different level of cage density were not gave significant effect (P>0.05). The conclusion of this study there was not interaction between factor litter system and the level of cage density.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui umur yang tepat dalam pengggantianpakan starter ke finisher, dengan menghasilkan kinerja produksi dan persentasekarkas tiktok yang optimal. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat dipakai sebagaibahan pertimbangan dalam menentukan waktu yang tepat penggantian pakanstarter ke finisher.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu penggantian pakan starter kefinisher berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi pakan dan pertambahan bobot badan,tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap konversi pakan dan persentase karkas. Rataankonsumsi pakan tertinggi pada P7 yaitu : 5559,20 g  68,69 g dan terendah P3yaitu : 5245,58 g  87,84 g, rataan pertambahan bobot badan tertinggi pada P7yaitu : 2010,43 g  40,64 g dan terendah P3 yaitu: 1800,03 g ± 40,56 g, denganangka konversi pakan: berkisar 2,92-2,75 dan persentase karkas berkisar: 49,760% -50,640 %.Kesimpulan penelitian adalah bahwa semakin lama pakan starterdiberikan, maka konsumsi pakan dan pertambahan bobot badan titok semakintinggi, tetapi tidak memberikan berubahan yang berarti terhadap konversi pakandan persentase karkas. Waktu penggantian pakan starter ke finisher palingefisien dilakukan pada titok umur 6 minggu.Kata Kunci : Tiktok Jantan, Konsumsi Pakan, Pertambahan Bobot Badan,Konversi Pakan, Persentase Karkas dan Pengggantian Pakan.THE EFFECT OF REPLECEMENT OF STARTER TO FINISHER DIETON PERFORMANCE AND CARCAS PERCENTAGE IN TIKTOKAbstractThe research was to study the effect of replecement starter to finisherdiet on performance and carcass percentage in tiktok. The result of the researchwere expected to be used as information of replecement diet in tiktok.The result showed replecement starter to finisher diet has effect on feedconsumption and daily body weigh. But has no effect on feed conversion andcarcass percentage. The highest feed consumption was P7 ( 5559,20  68,69 g )and the lowest was P3 ( 5245,58  87,84 g ), the highest daily body weightwas P7 ( 2010,43  40,64 g ) and the lowest was P3 ( 1800,03  40,56 g ). Feedconversion was 2,93 to 2,75 carcass percentage was 49, 760 % to 50, 640 %.The conclusion of this research was more long time used starter diet to increasefeeds consumption and daily body weight but there is no effect on feedconversion and carcass percentage. Abstract

The purpose of research was to determine effect quail type and different commercial feed on feed consumption, feed conversion, quail (Cortunix cortunix japonica) Hen Day Production (HDP). The material used for research were 48 heads bangkok quail and 48 heads bangkok-local quail (39 days of age). Method used in the research was experimental design. The data were analysed by Completely Randomize Design (RAL) by factorial design (2x3). The treatment consisted of two combination factor A1 (bangkok) and A2 (Bangkok-Local Crossbreed). The commercial feed consist B1, B2, and B3. The data were analyzed by ANOVA (analysis of variance) and Duncan Multiple Range Test. The result showed that the commercial feed different give a significant influence (P0.05) on feed conversion and HDP. The commercial feed different on feed conversion  B1 were (3.96±0.03) B2 (5.35±0.20), and B3 (5,05±0,37). The commercial feed different on hen day production B1 were (64.52±3.08 %) B2 (51.24±0.09 %), and B3 (50.19±4.43 %). The interaction between quail A2 by commercial feeding with B1 feed conversion were (3.82±0.66), and HDP (68.71±13.54 %). Research concluded Bangkok-Local Crossbreed quail feeding by commercial feed A1 reduce feed conversion and improve hen day production (HDP). Keywords: Bangkok quail, Crossbreed quail, commercial feed, feed consumption, feed conversion, Hen Day Production (HDP).

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama waktu pembatasan pemberian pakan terhadap performans atau penampilan  produksi ayam pedaging periode finisher. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi tentang lama waktu pembatasan pakan untuk mendapatkan  efisiensi penggunaan pakan kepada masyarakat khususnya peternak  ayam pedaging .. Metode penelitian mengunakan metode percobaan, dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan : tanpa pembatasan pemberian pakan (P0), 2 jam/hari pembatasan pemberian pakan (P1), 4 jam/hari pembatasan pemberian pakan (P2) dan 6 jam/hari pembatasan pemberian pakan (P3). Setiap perlakuan diulang 6 kali. Variabel yang diamati :  konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan bila terdapat perbedaan  yang nyata atau sangat nyata dilanjutkan  dengan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembatasan waktu pemberian pakan memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0.01) terhadap konsumsi pakan,  memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang tidak  nyata  terhadap pertambahan bobot badan, dan memberikan perbedaan pengaruh yang  nyata (P<0.05) terhadap konversi pakan. Kesimpulan: Pembatasan   pemberian pakan 6 jam/hari menghasilkan angka konversi pakan terendah (1,69) atau menghasilkan efisiensi pakan yang tinggi pada ayam pedaging finisher. Saran dalam pemeliharaan ayam pedaging finisher untuk efisiensi pakan dapat dilakukan pembatan  pemberian pakan  selama 6 jam setiap hari.   Kata kunci : Ayam pedaging, pembatasan pakan, konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan. EFFECT OF THE LENGTH OF RESTRICTED FEEDING TIME ON  PERFORMANCES  OF  FINISHER BROILER ABSTRACT The aim of the research was to study the effect of the length of restricted feeding time on performance of finisher broiler. Result of the research expected can be used as  information for  broiler farmer  about feed efficiency with restricted feeding time. The method of the research was experiment with Completely Randomized Design (CRD), 4 treatments which were without restricted feeding (PO), 2 hours , 4 hours and 6 hours restricted feeding time with  6 replications. The variables were  feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion. The datas was analyzed  with Analysis of Variance, and if significant of difference to be continued with  Honestly Significant Difference (HSD).. The result of the research indicated that restricted feeding had  highly significant  effect (P<0.01) on feed consumption, had not significant  effect on   body weight gain (P>0.05) and significant effect (P<0.05) on feed conversion. The conclution was restricted feeding a long as 6 hours/day had lowest feed conversion (1.69).  Suggested on rearing finisher broiler could be restricted feeding time 6 hours/day for feed efficiency.   Keyword: finisher broiler, feed restriction , feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bentuk dan interaksi telur puyuh dan bobot telur puyuh terhadap jenis kelamin, bobot tetas dan lama tetas. Materi penelitian menggunakan telur puyuh terseleksi sebanyak 162 butir. Metode penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap faktorial dan transformasi akar kuadrat yang terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu bentuk telur dan bobot telur yang meliputi bobot ringan, sedang, dan berat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk telur berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap jenis kelamin, sedang faktor bobot telur berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap jenis kelamin. Faktor bentuk telur berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot tetas, sedang faktor bobot telur berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot tetas. Sementara itu bentuk telur dan bobot telur, keduanya berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap lama tetas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin berat bobot telur maka akan mengasilkan DOQ berjenis kelamin jantan begitu pula sebaliknya dan semakin tinggi bobot telur akan menghasilkan DOQ dengan bobot tetas yang tinggi begitu pula sebaliknya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disarankan untuk penetasan telur puyuh dengan bobot ringan sehingga berpeluang lebih besar untuk menghasilkan DOQ betina.SHAPE EFFECT OF EGGS AND EGG WEIGHT SEX, WEIGHT AND OLD HATCHING HATCHING QUAIL (Coturnix-coturnix japonica)ABSTRACTThe aim of the research was to examine the influence of egg shape and egg weight of Japanese quail egg towards sex, weight, and time of hatching, and the interaction between the shape and weight of Japanese quail eggs with sex, weight, and time of hatching. Materials research using 162 eggs of Japanese quail. The research methodused wasCompletely Randomized Design with factorial design twofactors. The second method is the square root transformation for the variable of sex. The results showed that the egg shape had no significant influence (P>0.05)to variable of sex, and egg weight factor had a very real influence (P<0.01)tovariable of sex. Shape factor had no significant influence (P>0.05) to the weight of hatching, and weight factorhas a significant influence (P<0.05)to the weight of hatching. Shape factor and weight factor had no significant influence (P>0.05)to hatching time. Results of the research can be concluded that eggs with heavy weights greater opportunity to produce DOQ male gender and vice-versa, and the higher weight of the eggs will be producing DOQ with high weight and vice-versa. Based on the research results, it is recommended for hatching eggs quail laying for use with light weight.Keywords: egg shape, egg weight, hatchingsex, hatching weight, hatching time.

Abstract

RINGKASAN   Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 27 Mei 2010 hingga 24 Juni 2010 di dusun Surowono desa Canggu Kecamatan Badas Kabupaten Kediri. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh lantai kandang (lantai renggang dan lantai rapat) dan  imbangan jantan-betina terhadap konsumsi pakan, bobot telur, konversi pakan dan tebal kerabang burung puyuh. Materi yang digunakan adalah 24 ekor burung puyuh jantan ddengan Koefisien Keragaman (KK) 5,92 % dan 84 ekor betina dengan KK 4,85 % umur 60 hari. Metode penelitian adalah percobaan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Pola Faktorial (2x4). Faktor pertama adalah lantai renggang dan lantai rapat. Faktor perlakuan kedua adalah imbangan jantan-betina 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5. Sehingga diperoleh 8 kombinasi perlakuan. Setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Variabel yang diamati adalah konsumsi pakan, bobot telur, konversi pakan dan tebal kerabang. Data dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan jika terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan antar perlakuan dilakukan Uji BNT (Beda Nyata Terkecil). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lantai kandang tidak memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P > 0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, bobot telur, konversi pakan dan tebal kerabang.  Imbangan jantan-betina berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konsumsi pakan, bobot telur dan konversi pakan tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap tebal kerabang telur. Tidak terdapat interaksi antara lantai kandang dan imbangan jantan-betina (P > 0.05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, bobot telur, konversi pakan dan tebal kerabang. Kesimpulan bahwa lantai kandang tidak mempengaruhi konsumsi pakan, konversi pakan, bobot telur dan tebal kerabang. Sedangkan semakin besar imbangan jantan-betina maka konsumsi pakan, bobot telur dan konversi pakan semakin menurun. Saran dalam pemeliharaan burung puyuh dapat digunakan kandang sistem lantai renggang atau lantai rapat dengan imbangan jantan-betina 1:4 pada pemeliharaan puyuh. EFFECT OF CAGE FLOOR (SLAT AND LITTER) AND SEX RATIO ON FEED CONSUMPTION,  EGG WEIGHT, FEED CONVERSION AND THICKNESS OF EGGSHELL IN QUAIL Achmanu, Muharlien, Salaby Akhmat ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of  cage floor type (slat and litter floor) and sex ratio on feed consumption, egg weight, feed conversion and thickness of quail’s egg shell. The results were expected to provide scientific information about using cage floor type and  sex ratio of quail production and a scientific reference for researchers and other farmers for  increasing the productivity performances of quails. The material were 24 male quails and 84 female ones of 60 days old. The research method was experiment by using Randomized Completely Design (RCD),arranged factorialy (2x4). The observed variables were feed consumption, egg weight, feed conversion and thickness of eggshell. Data were analyzed with ANOVA and if there were significant differences between treatments then calculated with Least Square Different (LSD) test. The results showed that cage floor type did not significantly effect (P>0.05)  on feed consumption, egg weight, feed conversion and thickness of eggshell, while sex ratio had highly significant effect (P < 0,01) on feed consumption, egg weight, feed conversion  and not significant effect on  thickness of eggshell. There was no interaction effect (P> 0.05) between the cage floor and sex ratio on feed consumption, egg weight, feed conversion and thickness of eggshell. The conclusions were cage floor type did not influenced the feed consumption, egg weight, feed conversion and thickness of eggshell. Sex ratio had influenced the feed consumption, egg weight, and feed conversion, but did not influenced the thickness of eggshell. Abstract

The purpose of the research was to determine the effect of combination of quail type and different commercial feed treatment. The material used for this research are 96 female Bangkok quail and Bangkok-Local Crossbreed (15 days). The variables are carcass and giblet percentages (heart, liver, spleen and gizzard). The method used in this research is Completely Randomize Design (CRD) by factorial design (2x3). The treatment consists of 2 combinations;  factor A1 (Bangkok) and A2 (Bangkok-Local crossbred). The commercial feed consists of B1 (brand commercial feed A), B2 (brand commercial feed B), B3 (brand commercial feed C). The data collection are in the age 15 days until 63 days. The data are analized by ANOVA (analysis of variant) and continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The result shows that interaction of the type of quail and different commercial feed are not significantly influenced (P>0.05) on carcass and giblet percentages. The treatment of type of quail is significantly different (P<0.05) on carcass and liver percentages. The different of commercial feed is not significantly influenced (P>0.05) on carcass and giblet percentages. This research concludes Bangkok quail and brand commercial feed A is able to produce the highest percentage of carcass. Keywords: bangkok quail, crossbreed quail, commercials feed, carcass, hearth

Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effect of addition pinneapple peel meal in diet on total egg and egg quality duck. Materials of the research were 60 mojosari ducks at seven months old. The treatment of pineapple peel meal addition in diet were treatment on level of 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8%. Variable were numbers of egg, egg shell thickness, fat and cholesterol egg yolk. The datas were analyzed using ANOVA from Randomized Block Design (RBD), if the result had significant effect, would be continued by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that an addition pineapple peel meal in  duck diet had no effect (P>0,05) on numbers of egg and thick of egg shell, however, it had  highly significant effect (P<0,01) on fat  and  cholesterol  egg  yolk . The concluded showed that the addition of pineaple peel meal  in ducks diet can be decreasing fat and cholesterol egg yolk and can not decreasing numbers of egg and egg shell tick.
