Abstract

Kandis acid (Gracinia cowa) has been used for cooking, medicine, beauty, etc., but using of seeds has not been profitable so it was wasted. Seeds can be used as a fitobiotic to replace antibiotics or as feed ingredients. The purpose of this study was to determine the food ingredient and the inhibitory of bacteria on kandis seeds flour. This research was conducted by laboratory experiments using Kandis seeds flour as a material, analysis proximate used to represent the composition of feedstuft, bioactive used test flavonoid quantitaf seconder and the inhibitory test with hollow diffusion methode. The results of the test were dry matter 89.11%, crude fat 4.77, fiber 18.57, crude protein 0.99, tannin 0.29%, GE 5244 kcal / kg, Ca 0.72%, P 0, 22%, flavonoids 0.44%, density 413 g / mL. The smallest inhibitory bacteria produced by lactic acid bacteria then Salmonella and Escherichia coli. The food ingredient represented that value Kandis acid seeds flour can be used as food and there are bacterial inhibitory by the activity of flavonoids and tannins. The conclusion is the kandis acid seeds have potential as feed ingredients and phytobiotics Keywords: gracinia cowa, flavonoid, proximate analysis, inhibition

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the performance of broiler production in a closed and open house system. The study was conducted on September 13-October 25, 2019, at Sumardi's broiler farm located in Kademangan Village, Pagelaran District, and Malang Regency. The material used is 120 broilers in a closed house and 120 broilers in an open house. CP-707 strain broiler chickens were given complete feed produced by PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia. Feed and drinking water are given ad libitum. Research variables are feed consumption, body weight, feed conversion, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat weight. Research data were tabulated and analyzed using unpaired t-test. Based on the results of statistical analysis, there is a difference between the performance of broiler production in a closed house and open house system (P<0.05). Closed house system gives a better effect on the performance of broiler production.

Abstract

Abstract

Birds quail (Coturnix Coturnix japonica) is a type of bird lots of quail maintained in the community have morphology i.e. small body, round and tail short Setyawn, Sudjarwo, Widodo, and Prayogi (2011) stated that bird quail is one community poultry of the genus Coturnix which can be generated as producer eggs and meat. Destination from study this for knowing the effect of sex ratio and age parent to consumption feed, weight eggs, and conversion feed. Method study is test design Random Complete (RAL) pattern factorial with 2 factors, namely factor 1 is Sex Ratio and factor 2 is age parent with every 3 treatments and 3 replications. Research results show the sex ratio does not give influence real on consumption feed, the weight of eggs, and conversion feed. Average consumption feed of 675.63 (g/ head) to 683.61 (g/ head), average weight egg of 11.28 (g/ item) to 11.60 (g/ item), and the average conversion ration of 5.63 to 6.08. Influence to age parent gives influence that is not real to consumption feed, weight eggs, and conversion feed. Average consumption feed as big as 677.17 (g/ head) to 679.74 (g/ head), average weight egg of 11.28 (g/ item) to 11.55 (g/ item), and the average conversion ration of 5.71 (g/ head ) to 5.92 (g/ head ). Interaction balance male-female and age parent no give influence real to consumption feed, weight eggs, and conversion feed. The conclusion from the research is the influence of the balance of male-female and the age of the parent no give influence the consumption of feed, the weight of eggs, and conversion of feed.

Abstract

This study evaluated the impact of adding onion (Allium cepa L.), shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.), and garlic (Allium sativum L.) peels as additives to the broiler production. The material used was 189 one-day-old commercial broiler chicken Lohmann strain (unsexing) and assigned to nine treatments and three replications: T0(-): basal diet, T0(+): basal diet + antibiotic (zinc bacitracin 0.1%), T1: basal diet + 0.5% garlic peel, T2: basal diet + 0.5% shallot peel, T3: basal diet + 0.5% onion peel, T4: basal diet + 0.25% garlic peel and 0.25% shallot peel, T5: basal diet + 0.25%. garlic peel + 0.25% onion peel, T6: basal diet + 0.25% shallot peel + 0.25% onion peel, T7: basal diet + 0.167% garlic peel + 0.167% shallot peel + 0.167% onion peel. Feed intake, final body weight, feed conversion ratio (FCR), mortality, productivity index, and income over feed cost were the variables that were observed in the current study. The data were analysed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results of the study show that the addition of the three garlic powders do not give any effect (P>0.05) on feed intake, final body weight, FCR, mortality, production index and IOFC. The conclusions of this study showed that garlic peel, shallot peel, and onion peel could be used as feed additive. This choice yields positive effects on production performance, particularly in terms of Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) and the production index.
