Abstract

ABSTRACTKalapi (K.celebica Kosterm.) is an endemic and endangered plant species in Sulawesi and categorize as monotypic species in the Fabaceae family. Kalapi, since 1998, listed as endangered. However, researches about kalapi still limited, such research that related to the handling of the seeds, the dimensions of fruits and seeds, as well as testing of physical quality of seeds has not been done. So that, the purpose of this study was to determine  handling of seeds, measuring the dimensions of fruits and seeds as well as testing of physical quality of seeds. Seed was collected from natural forest of Abuki, Village of Anggoro, District of Abuki, Konawe. Testing of physical quality of Kalapi was conducted at the Laboratory of Forestry, Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, Halu Oleo University, Kendari. Research was carried out for 4 months. Related to seed handling, technique to collect seed was by climbing and taking under trees. Physiologically, mature fruit has been colored brownish. Fruits that have been collected were stored in sacks and plastic. Fruits were extracted by using dry extraction. Based on, the dimensions of fruits and seeds observation, the length of the fruit averaged 7.081 cm (with ranged about 2.6-12.8 cm). While, the width of fruits has averaged 2.97 cm (with ranged about 1.7-4.6 cm). The mean length, width and thickness of each seed sized 11.33 mm (7.31-19.93 mm), 9.4 mm (5.99-11.90 mm) and 1.39 mm (0.7-2.02 mm), respectively. The number of seeds per fruit is 1-4 seeds. The average of purity of seeds that has been extracted is 99.51% with a range of 99.22-99.77%. Weight of 1000 of seeds grain is 99.1 g with a range of 91-103.6 g. Prediction of the number of seeds/kg is 10,113 grains of seeds / kg. Seeds moisture content is 13.12% with range of 11.3-13.12%. This research will support and provide important data about kalapi related to their seeds. Keywords: K. celebica Kosterm, character of seed physical, dimension of fruit and seed, Abuki.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian takaran terbaik hyponex merah terhadap sporulasi FMA lokal asal rizosfer kayu kuku. Penelitian dilakukan di Rumah Plastik Asosiasi Mikoriza Indonesia Cabang Sulawesi Tenggara dan Laboratotium Jurusan Kehutanan Fakultas Kehutanan dan Ilmu Lingkungan UHO selama bulan Mei-September dengan menggunakan Rancangan Faktorial Acak Lengkap (RAL) dua faktor yaitu faktor pertama  jenis FMA diantaranya Glomus sp. dan Acaulospora sp. dan faktor kedua yaitu hyponex merah diantaranya kontrol, 1 g/L, 2 g/L dan 3 g/L. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kolonisasi dan sporulasi FMA Glomus sp. pada perlakuan tanpa pemberian hyponex seiring dengan waktu pengamatan. Jenis FMA Glomus sp. mampu meningkatkan nodulasi, jumlah daun dan berat kering tanaman seiring dengan meningkatnya takaran hyponex merah. Perlakuan tanpa pemberian hiponex merah cocok untuk perbanyakan Glomus sp. Kata Kunci:, Glomus sp.,Hyponex Merah, sporulasi

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat proses pembentukan kelompok Tani Pelestari Hutan di Taman Hutan Raya Nipa—Nipa (Tahura Nipa-Nipa) dan tingkat partisipasi anggota KPTH tahura Nipa-Nipa dalam pengelolaan Hutan.. Penelitian dini dilakukan di Tahura Nipa-Nipa pada kelurahan  Watu- watu dan Tipulu  dengan sampel sebanyak 70 KK. Variabel yang diamati adalah proses pembentukan KPTH berupa latar belakang dan tujuan pembentukan KPTH, serta tingkat partisipasi kelompok dalam pengelolaan Hutan di Tahura Nipa-Nipa. Data hasil penelitian ditabulasi dan diberi skoring berdasarkan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian adalah KPTH dibentuk pada awalnya karena adanya keinginan masyarakat untuk mengelola kawasan Tahura dengan lestari sekaligus dapat mensejahterakan anggotanya. Tingkat partispasi masyarakat pada tahap perencanaan pembentukan kelompok tergolong rendah, sedangkan tingkat partispasi anggota KPTH pada pengorganisasian dan pelaksanaan program tergolong tingkat partisipasi tinggi, hal ini disebabkan karena adanya kemauan masyarakat untuk mnegelola hutan secara lestari. Kata Kunci: KPTH, Taman Hutan Raya Nipa-Nipa, Partisipasi, pengelolaan hutan  Seed Germination of Pololi (Lithocarpus celebicus (Miq.)) RehderAbstract: This study aims to determine the process of forming a group of Forest Conservation Farmers in Nipa-Nipa Forest Park (Tahura Nipa-Nipa) and the level of participation of Nipa-Nipa Tahura KPTH members in forest management. watu and tipulu. This study used a simple random sampling method. The observed variables were the process of forming a KPTH in the form of the background and purpose of establishing a KPTH, as well as the level of group participation in forest management in Tahura Nipa-Nipa. The research data were tabulated and scored based on a Likert scale. The results of research on the background of the KPTH were formed is the desire of the community to manage the Tahura area sustainably while at the same time be able to prosper its members. The level of community participation at the planning stage of group formation is relatively low, while the level of participation of KPTH members in organizing and implementing programs is classified as a high level of participation, this is due to the willingness of the community to manage forests sustainably. Keywords: KPTH, Nipa-Nipa Forest Park, Participation, forest management

Abstract

Abstrak: Kayu kuku (Pericopsis mooniana [Thw] Thw.) merupakan jenis dari famili Fabaceae. Kayu kuku dilaporkan termasuk dalam jenis kayu lokal sulawesi yang saat ini masuk kategori terancam punah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui viabilitas benih kayu yang dipengaruhi pengikiran dan lama penyimpanan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Rumah Asosiasi Mikoriza Indonesia (AMI) cabang Sulawesi Tenggara selama 1 bulan (Mei). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (Ral Faktorial) dengan tiga kali ulangan dan tiap unit 50 biji. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa benih tanpa skarifikasi memiliki nilai tertinggi pada peubah rata-rata waktu untuk berkecambah yaitu 10.58 hari. Penyimpanan benih 1 tahun mempunyai nilai tertinggi pada peubah persentase kecambah = 67,50%, daya kecambah = 66,50% dan rata-rata benih berkecambah perhari = 1,12 benih dan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perkecambahan benih. Perlakuan skarifikasi signifikan terhadap persen kecambah = 91.33%, daya kecambah = 91.00%, dan rata-rata benih berkecambah perhari = 1.52 benih. Benih kayu kuku perlu diskarifikasi sebelum dikecambahkan untuk mempercepat perkecambahan. Kata Kunci: kayu kuku, skarifikasi, perkecambahan The Effect of Scarification and Seed Storage Duration on The Viability of Kuku Wood Seeds (Pericopsis mooniana[Thw]Thw.)Abstract: Kayu kuku [Pericopsis mooniana (Thw) Thw.] is one of the species in the family Fabaceae. Kayu kuku is reportedly included in the local Sulawesi timber species which is currently in endangered category. This study aims to determine the viability of kayu kuku seeds which influences by scarification and the length of seed storage. This research carried out at the Indonesian Mycorrhiza Association greenhouse in the Southeast Sulawesi for one month (May 2019). This study used a completely randomized design on Factorial Ral with three replications and each unit of 50 seeds.The results showed that the seed without scarification had the highest value on the average time to germinate variable, which was 10.58 days. One year seed storage has the highest value on the variable percentage of germination = 67.50%, sprouts power = 66.50% and the average germination rate per day = 1.12 seeds and no significant effect on seed germination.Significant scarification treatment of sprout percent = 91.33%, germination power = 91.00%, and average germinating seeds per day = 1.52 seeds. The seed of Kayu Kuku needs to be clarified before germination to accelerate germination. Key words: Kayu kuku, scarification, Germination
