Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine the nature of anatomy Tohiti Rattan (Calamus inops Beccari) that is in Protected Forest Area Mountain Springs Village Papalia Wolasi District of Wolasi Konsel.  This research method using descriptive and anatomical measurements using standard IAWA (International Association Of Wood Anatomically, 2008).  Vascular bundles at Rattan Tohiti network file consists of a collection vessel (metaxylem, protoxylem and phloem) and the fiber bundle. The average diameter metaxylem 233,74μm and the average diameter protoxylem 37,87μm. The proportion of cells rattan Tohiti, obtained the proportion of parenchymal cells, fiber bundle 48,93%, 39,02% metaxylem, phloem protoxylem 4,98% and 2,63%. Based on measurements of fiber dimensions Tohiti rattan, known fiber length very long 1956,52μm, classified as moderate 13,55μm fiber diameter, the average diameter of the lumen 5,62μm and an average wall thickness 4,27μm.  Keywords: Rattan Tohiti, Structural Anatomy, Fiber Dimensions.

Abstract

Kawasan Taman Hutan Raya (Tahura) Nipa-nipa memiliki kekayaan jenis yang perlu di eksplore, penelitian ini mencoba mengidentifikasi keragaman jenis-jenis bambu yang terdapat pada Kawasan Tahura Nipa-Nipa Kelurahan Mangga Dua.  Sampel ditentukan dengan  menggunakan metode purposive sampling yaitu ditunjuk secara langsung spot-spot keberadaan bambu.  Luas kawasan Tahura kelurahan mangga dua sebesar 40 Ha, jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 50 plot yang berukuran 20 m x 20 m. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada Kawasan Tahura Nipa-nipa kelurahan mangga Dua terdapat 3 marga bambu yaitu Gigantochloa, Bambusa dan Dendrocalamus yang terdiri dari jenis-jenis bambu Ater (Gigantochloa atter), bambu Apus  (Gigantochloa apus), bambu Cina (Bambusa multiplex Lour.), bambu Betung (Dendrocalamus asper), dan bambu Kuning (Bambusa vulgaris). Jenis bambu yang memiliki Indeks Nilai Penting tertinggi adalah bambu Ater (Gigantochloa atter) dengan jumlah INP sebesar 162.99%. Sedangkan yang terendah adalah bambu Betung (Dendrocalamus asper) 19.69%.  Keanekaragaman jenis bambu di kawasan Tahura Nipa-Nipa Kelurahan Mangga Dua masih tergolong rendah yaitu 0.548. Kata kunci : Jenis Bambu, Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) Bambu, Keanekaragaman Bambu, Tahura Nipa-Nipa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of stands (Arenga pinnata Merr) in limited production forests (HPT) and find out the use of sugar palm (Arenga pinnata Merr) by rural communities around limited production forests (HPT). This research has been carried out in the Hamlet 5 of Tolowe Ponre Waru Village, Wolo Sub-district, Kolaka District. In January - February 2018, showing the potential of palm sugar (Arenga pinnata Merr) divided into 3 namely 189 adult stands, 32 stands and 547 saplings. While the use of sugar palm (Arenga pinnata Merr) in the Hamlet 5 of Tolowe Ponre Waru Village there are 37 of 62 households. The form of utilization is divided into 4 parts: 26 heads of households process the juice of sap into palm sugar, 7 heads of the family ferment the juice of nira into tuak and 4 heads of families process the palm leaves (Arenga pinnata Merr) into roofs and brooms. However, not all processed forms can be marketed, processed forms that can be marketed are palm sugar and palm wine, while processed forms that are not marketed are roofs and broom sticks used for household needs.Keywords: Potency, Utilization, Aren (Arenga pinnata Merr).

Abstract

 Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the use of two types of tuba root extract, namely milk sap tuba root and clear sap tuba root in Wood Preservation of Gmelina (G. arborea Roxb) against subterranean termites. The method of testing against subterranean termites is using the burial method for 12 weeks. Wood resistance is calculated from the percentage of weight loss and the degree of termite attack on wood according to SNI 01-7207-2006 concerning the classification of wood resistance to subterranean termite attacks. the results of the study, it was concluded that the use of preservatives for milk sap tuba root and clear sap tuba root with concentrations of 2% and 4% were not considered effective for preserving Gmelina wood from subterranean termites. Keywords: Gmelina wood, preservation, milk sap tuba root, clear sap tuba root, subterranean termites, loss of weight, degree of attack.Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan dua jenis ekstrak akar tuba yaitu akar tuba getah susu  dan akar tuba getah bening  dalam pengawetan kayu Gmelina (G. arborea Roxb) terhadap Rayap Tanah. Metode pengujian rayap tanah menggunakan metode penguburan selama 12 minggu. Ketahanan kayu dihitung dari persentase kehilangan berat dan derajat serangan rayap pada kayu menurut SNI 01-7207-2006 tentang klasifikasi ketahanan kayu terhadap serangan rayap tanah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan bahan pengawet akar tuba getah susu dan akar tuba getah bening dengan konsentrasi konsentrasi 2% dan 4%, dinilai belum efektif untuk di jadikan bahan mengawetkan kayu Gmelina dari serangan Rayap Tanah. Kata kunci: Kayu Gmelina, pengawetan, akar tuba getah susu, akar tuba getah bening, rayap tanah, Kehilangan berat, derajat serangan.
