Abstract

The research about “The Potencial of Tropical Abalone Haliotis asinina L. As Source of Mushroom Antimicroba ProducingSymbionts” had been done. This research aimed to know the abalone potency as a source of inoculum and to characterizeisolate fungal symbionts H. asinina L. Isolation of fungi symbionts H. asinina L. was performed used a PDA medium (PotatoDextrose Agar). Characterization of isolates fungal symbiont from H. asinina L. consists of macroscopic and microscopicobservations, and activity testing against pathogenic bacteria and fungi. The results showed that there were isolates of fungalsymbionts H. asinina L. (Abl.J.1, Abl.J.2, and Abl.J.3). The results of macroscopic observation colony indicated Abl.J.1 andAbl.J.3 isolate had a surface likes flour and Abl.J.2 isolate had a flat surface such as cotton; Abl.J.1 isolate green, Abl.J.2 isolatelight green and Abl.J.3 isolate black in colours. Three isolates had concentric circles; isolates Abl.J.1 and Abl.J.3 had radiallines and isolate Abl.J.2 had not radial line. The result of microscopic observation showed that three isolates had not septa, and hyaline (colorless); three isolates had asexual spores conidioshpore and all isolates was suspected to belong to the genusAspergillus. All isolates were able to inhibit the growth of Salmonella thypi bacteria and Candida albicans fungus and theresulting compounds were bacteriocidal and fungicidal.Keyword: Gastropods, H. asinina L., Symbiont fungus, Antimicrobal, Aspergillus.

Abstract

Industrial progress and waste of urban domestic activities have an impact on the Pb heavy metal pollution on the environment, this will have an impact on human health. Pb metal can be overcome with biological methods by utilizing bacteria in reducing Pb metal. The study aimed to obtain the species  of resistant bacterial isolates of Pb metal and determine its characteristics. Sediment and water samples were obtained from the Tallo River. Isolation and selection of Pb metal resistant bacteria were carried out on nutrient agar media is 10 ppm added of PbAgNO3, afterwards the colonies that grew and differed were characterized by morphological morphology and several biochemical tests. The characterization results obtained 8 isolates of Pb metal resistant bacteria consisted of 8 isolates from sediment samples and 3 isolates from water samples. The characteristics of each bacterial isolate on cell morphology are the same and biochemical tests show different results.

Abstract

Abstract

Fermented Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is a processed oil where the manufacturing process uses baker's yeast, is easy to make and has simple equipment. The high content of lauric acid and vitamin E is beneficial for skin health, so it is often used as a raw material for making soap. One way to improve the function of VCO is the fortification process with dragon fruit which contains high antioxidants. This activity aims to increase community entrepreneurial interest by utilizing local potential into health and beauty products so that it can improve the family economy. Coconut and dragon fruit are the main raw materials for VCO and VCO soap which are easy to find in Sabila Village, Mallawa District, Maros Regency. Community service activities (PKM) begin with counseling/lectures on sterilization techniques, packaging methods and online product marketing. Followed by training on how to make VCO by fermentation and VCO soap with fortified dragon fruit extract. The results of the activity showed the enthusiasm of the participants during the discussion and the results of the pre- and post-test evaluation showed an increase in participants' knowledge about VCO and VCO soap by 78.0% after the training.
