Abstract

ABSTRACTBloodstain is one of the body fluid which might drop in some criminal case. Investigating bloodstain is very useful to solve a criminal case and can be an evidance. There are some ways to eliminate the evidance for example wash the bloodstain from victim’s cloth. The purpose of this research are to know the description of hemoglobin crystal exposed by some detergent powder using Teichmann test and Takayama test. Teichmann test and Takayama test are forensic laboratory examination that can help to prove the formation of hemoglobin crystals. The reserch was an experimental study conducted in a University Medical School Biochemistry Laboratory Riau. Exposure method in this research is to be streamed. The results of this research was still finding hemoglobin crystals in 14 (100%) slide that have been drained of bloodstain using 7 brand deterjen powder. The conclusion of this reserch is bloodstain that has beeb exposed to detergent powder still gaves an overview of hemoglobin crystals.Keywords : bloodstain, detergent powder,hemoglobin crystals, Teichmann test, Takayama test

Abstract

Bloodstains is one of the biological fluids are most commonly found onthe crime scene criminal cases. In the blood, there are 3 (three) components:erythrocytes, leukocytes, and plasma, iron (Fe) within the hemoglobin inerythrocytes can be utilized in the estimate of the age of bloodstain. At themoment the blood into blood, iron contained in hemoglobin (Fe2+) will reactwith the oxygen present in nature which will oxidize Fe2+ to Fe3+, The processof changing Fe2+ to Fe3+ can be used to estimate the age of bloodstain at thescene. One of them is by using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. This study aimed todetermine the correlation of absorbance (Å) Fe2+ to the age of bloodstain byusing UV-Vis spectrophotometry. This study is an experimental, Samples to beused as research is a white cotton cloth soaked in human blood. The resultsshow that no correlation was found from absorbance (Å) Fe2+ with the age ofbloodstain were analized using UV-Vis spectrophotometry.Keyword : Absorbance Fe2+, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, Bloodstain

Abstract

In the case of violent crimes such as murder, assault and rape, it is possible to find biological fluids such as blood spots at the crime scene . Blood spots contained two components, such as cellular component consisting of erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets and plasma components. Erythrocytes contained hemoglobin that contain iron atom (Fe). Iron atom in heme would be reduced from Fe2+ to Fe 3+ due to reaction with oxygen. Alteration of Fe2+ to Fe3+ can be analyze by using infrared spectrophotometric. This study aims to determine the change in the value of % T in human bloodstains on cotton cloth functional groups contained in the molecule Fe-O. This study is experimental. Samples were white cotton cloth soaked in human blood. To see the correlation of % T with the age of bloodstains on cotton cloth used Pearson correlation test. The results show that no correlation was found from persenttransmitance Fe-O with age human bloodstain on cotton cloth using infra red spectrophotometry.Keyword : Persenttransmitance Fe-O, bloodstain

Abstract

Bloodstains on the floor, clothes and on the weapon used for crime are most likely to be cleaned of by the criminal as part of the attempt to vanish the evidence. Abolition of the bloodstains on the floor can use carbolic floor cleaner. Carbolic floor cleaner contamination on bloodstains may affect the result of bloodstains identification using Teichmann and Takayama tests. The purpose of this research were to know the description of hemoglobin crystal as a result of Teichmann and Takayama test on bloodstains exposed by carbolic floor cleaner. This descriptive research was done at Biochemical Laboratory of Medical Faculty Riau University. Eight carbolic floor cleaner solutions were used in this research. Each carbolic floor cleaner were wiped on each slide using a tissue, then Teichmann and Takayama test were done on each slide. The results of this study shows that the bloodstains exposed by carbolic floor cleaner will still form hemin crystals in Teichmann test and hemokromogen crystal in Takayama test. This research emerged allegations that carbol exposure was not able to inhibit the formation of hemoglobin crystals and does not damage the heme structure of hemoglobin.Keywords : bloodstain, carbolic acid, Teichmann test, Takayama test
