Abstract

Along with the growth of Technology, the usage of digital signage for a communication device is common in this digital world. And now Petra Christian University starting using digital signage that named DIVo. But for measuring this device are effective or not we need someone to count every person who pass by this device, and we need to count how many person who many readers who read DIVo as well. But for getting the data manually there will be many error. For example there will be human error that can make a mistake for counting how many person that passing by DIVo twice or even more, and we need many human resource to do this work because there are more than one DIVo in Petra Christian University.So we need some device that can detect people who passing by DIVo, and can detect thre reader face, and all of that thing can be done by using Kinect. Kinect is a device that made by Microsoft for gaming console named Xbox, this device is a input unit for Xbox so player doesn’t need a controlling device at all just using their body for playing. And using skeletal tracking and Face tracking inside Kinect SDK, this application can count how many person that passing by DIVo, and count how many person that read the DIvo and count how long the reader read DIVo. And using this device we can overcome this problem if we counting traffic using manual method.

Abstract

Saat ini smartphone berkembang dengan sangat pesat. Salah satunya smartphone dengan sistem operasi Android. Saat ini semakin banyak para pengguna yang menggunakan smartphone dengan sistem operasi Android ini. Hal tersebut juga ditunjang dengan perkembangan aplikasi yang tersedia untuk Android. Kita dapat melihat pada Google Play, sangat banyak aplikasi Android yang tersedia dan dapat digunakan oleh pengguna.Salah satu contoh aplikasi yang cukup banyak diminati adalah aplikasi dengan fitur pencarian tempat - tempat yang sering dikunjungi. Misalnya rumah makan, rumah sakit, hotel, dan sebagainya. Tapi masih sangat kurang aplikasi yang menyediakan fitur tersebut untuk di Indonesia.Aplikasi CityNavi ini dibuat dengan dasar sistem operasi Android. Dengan menggunakan aplikasi ini, pengguna dapat mencari tempat - tempat seperti rumah sakit, hotel dan SPBU. Selain itu juga, pengguna dapat memberi komentar, nilai, menambah data tempat yang baru, serta menggunggah foto.Dan setelah dilakukan uji coba, aplikasi ini bisa mendapatkan lokasi pengguna dengan menggunakan GPS dari ponsel pengguna dan dapat mencari lokasi fasilitas umum yang berada di sekitar pengguna.

Abstract

Sebagian besar pegawai di Pusat Komputer Universitas Kristen Petra juga menggunakan smartphone dengan operating sistem Android. Oleh karena itu, aplikasi INV-IT dibuat agar memudahkan para pekerja di Pusat Komputer khususnya bagian hardware dan jaringan dalam memasukkan data, dimana sebelumnya proses memasukkan data harus dilakukan dengan menggunakan komputer yang berada di ruang kerja pusat komputer bagian hardware dan jaringan.Setelah dilakukan uji coba, aplikasi INV-IT dapat melakukan scan barcode dengan menggunakan kamera smartphone, dimana sebelumnya kode barang ditulis secara manual dan juga terdapat push notification agar para pekerja yang lain juga bisa mengetahui adanya pekerjaan baru yang dimasukkan.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi dan informasi berkembang dengan pesat. Hal ini mempengaruhi kehidupan manusia dalam proses pertukaran informasi yang semakin mudah. Namun seiring dengan perkembangan tersebut, kejahatan dalam bidang ini pun turut berkembang, sehingga pertukaran informasi menjadi kurang aman.Aplikasi yang dibuat menggunakan bahasa pemrograman C# dengan bantuan library untuk melakukan proses terhadap file video yang digunakan. Untuk menyembunyikan file kedalam video menggunakan teknik Least Significant Bit dengan terlebih dahulu menambah keamanan pada file dengan cara melakukan enkripsi Rivest Chiper 4.Hasil akhir dari aplikasi ini adalah sebuah video yang berisikan data rahasia. Untuk mengekstrak data tersebut dibutuhkan password yang digunakan saat menyembunyikan data. Kemampuan aplikasi ini terbatas pada kemampuan library yang digunakan.

Abstract

Along with the growth of Petra Christian University, more college students and guests will come to visit this university. Petra Christian University has more than few buildings and it does not rule out the possibility that new buildings will be build later. Then, Petra Christian University will need location maps and directions to help visitors of the university find specific locations inside campus area. There are physical and digital maps of Petra Christian University, and a Final Project which displays few floor maps of Petra Christian University. But an application which especially provides an interactive map and virtual tour of Petra Christian University hasn’t been made.Thus, a system is being developed, which has two separate applications. The first application is an Android-based apllication called Petra PanoraMap, its goal is to provide interactive maps for Petra Christian University. This application provides a virtual tour for users which displays panoramic views of several locations inside Petra Christian University. The second application is a web-based application called PanoraMap Editor, its goal is to provide all data and pictures needed by Petra PanoraMap. Thus, it is needed to create a data structure that can represent Petra Christian University as a whole entity based on object-oriented approach.Tests have been performed to both Petra PanoraMap and PanoraMap Editor. Petra PanoraMap application can display panoramic views so that users can feel that they are inside Petra Christian University. It is proved that PanoraMap Editor application can produce a type of data that can readily deployed into and read by Petra PanoraMap, so that contents and panoramic photos inside Petra PanoraMap is a dynamic data.

Abstract

Rendering is the process by the end of the whole process of modeling or computer animation to change the form of three-dimensional objects into two dimensions. One popular method of rendering known today is ray tracing. Ray tracing is a technique for generating an image by tracing the path of light through pixels in the image.Ray tracing method is able to produce realistic images because it is calculating lighting effects such as ambient, diffuse and specular. Reflection and refraction of light is also calculated in ray tracing. In addition, ray tracing method is divided into two kinds, known as the tracing rays from the eye (backward ray tracing) and tracing rays from the light source (forward ray tracing).Caustic effect produced by emitting light in a transparent object. Refracted light will gather in an area so that the area will appear brighter than the surrounding areas. In previous studies, the effect of caustic applied to the primitive object, where the light checks done once per object. In this study, the object used is mesh. Checking the light will be performed on each triangle in the mesh.Results showed the greater refractive index, the more caustic effect gathered in certain areas of the body bare round, but spread on a flat and taper grounded object. The increase in the complexity of the mesh will increase linearly time. Comparison with other software shows the difference in the form of caustic effects and rendering time.

Abstract

Internet technology has shown its significant growth. It affects human habits in how they seek and gather information. News has become human’s daily needs. There are so many kind of news to be read, but time is limited. Therefore, recommendation feature for news feature nowadays is needed, so it is easier to supply what kind of news that readers read, where user can rate the news.These research focused on recommendation feature for news feature based on Android. To give recommendation feature, there will be a certain server required to grab news data from some specific websites. Then, news data which was grabbed is parsed and processed to be used for members profile calculation.Based on the research, rating can change news recommendation which is given from time to time and there are still some flaws on HTML structure and RSS standard from Indonesian news websites.

Abstract

Academic records of student candidates and students of Petra Christian University (PCU) which have been stored so far have not been used to generate information. PCU’s Top-level management needs a way to generate information from the records. The generated information is expected to support the decision-making process of Top-level management.Before starting the application development, analysis and design of the student academic records and the needs of Top-level management are done. The design stage produces a number of modeling that will be used to create the application.The final result of the development is an Academic Decision Support System application for PCU. The developed application includes Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL), customizable graphs, and user maintenance features.

Abstract

Along with the rapid technology development, the usage of computer input tools is also on the rise. Starting from a keyboard which had specific message for each button, developed into touch screen technology which enables human to interact directly with the screen; now technology in which a mere gesture is enough to input a command to the computer is being developed. Gesture detection can be done by the utilization of several tools. For instance, Kinect is one of the tools which are equipped with depth sensor that is capable to recognize and tracking human joints.The system being made is consisted of skeletal tracking process toward user and motion detection. Skeletal tracking process had been provided by kinect sdk. That skeletal tracking is utilized to detect users hand position. Users hand detection is used to detect the gesture that is done by the user. The making of this application  is done by Microsoft Visual Studio C# WPF 2010 and Kinect Software Development Kit.Therefore, this thesis is aimed to make an application which is capable in gesture and hand position detection on certain areas. This application utilized Kinect as the media for command input. The process starts from the checking of position movement, which will be identified as swipe gesture later on. In addition, hand position detection in specific areas is also being utilized, in order to determine how wide those areas is able to be touched by hand, when the users position is exactly in the centre of Kinects sensor

Abstract

Many people are eager to learn more about the world of farming, not just knowing the name and shape of the animal. However, not everyone can travel to the farm to learn about the life cycle of the animal. One way that can be used to provide a learning experience about the life cycle of living beings in the fastest way is through a game. One of the game’s genres that can be used to provide entertainment and educational aspects to the players is a life simulation. As a life simulation game, the data used is from the real studies of sheep. To give a more realistic situation, this game has a fuzzy state machine to determine the behavior shown by the animals when being approached by the opposite sex.By creating the simulation of sheep with three-dimensional interface, the player will enjoy the gaming experience more similar to the real world. This will give more pleasure to the player. This game was made using the Unity Engine and scripting using C # with MonoDevelop. From the test results, the majority of sheep AI performance is partly influenced by changes in the inputs necessary for the calculation of fuzzy and largely influenced by the interaction of the player in the game.
