Abstract

ABSTRACTThe quality of cut flowers can be improved by soaking them in a preservative solution, containing three basic compounds, sucrose, citric acid, and Lysol (called the basic formula). A research was conducted to find out an exact formulation which can give an optimal result by mixing the basic formula with cytocinine as a growth substances or anti-ethylene molecule as an completing agent (called the complete basic formula) for chrysanthemum cut flower. This research was done in the plant physiology laboratorium at Faculty of Agriculture of Bandung Raya University, Bandung on July to August 2004 by using univariat Randomized Block Design method consists five treatments, which are basic formula, basic formula + cynetine, basic formula + BAP, basic formula + AOA, and basic formula + STS. The result shows that the quality of chrysanthemum cut flowers can be kept by soaking it in a basic formulation preservative solution only, which containts 48 x 103 mgL-1 sucrose + 241 mgL-1 citric acid + 800 mgL-1 lysol in 14 hours. Soaking the cut flowers in a preservative solution, the decreasing of fresh weight is also minimalized and relative 2-days water uptake is maximalized. The number of ethylene that synthesized and respiration activity of chrysanthemum cut flowers can be pushed by adding the cytocinine into basic formula. Key Words:  Preservative Solution, Quality Of Chrysanthemum Flowers, Growth Substances Cytocinine, Anti-Ethylene

Abstract

ABSTRACTExperiments were carried out to determine the effect of vermicompost media onthe growth and yield of land kale plants located in Sukasari, Tanjungsari, Sumedang, West Java Provinces from September to October 2018. It was conducted using a randomized block design consisting of five treatments and five replications, while the treatment consisted of A = 0.0 kg vermicompost + 2.0 kg soil, B = 0.5 kg vermicompost + 1.5 kg soil, C = 1.0 kg vermicompost + 1.0 kg soil, D = 1.5 kg vermicompost + 0.5 kg soil, E = 2.0 kg vermicompost + 0 kg soil. The results showed that giving vermicompost significantly affected plant height at the age of 29 HST, 36 HST, 43 HST, root length, shoot fresh weight, fresh weight, shoot/root ratio of plant at 43 HST. The use of vermicompost at a doses 1 kg kg-1 soil given the best effect than the other doses.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe usage of preservative solution as a force to improve the quality of Transvaal daisy cut flower  Ornella cultivar is effective. A preservative that was formulated from sucrose + citric acid + lysol + oxyacetate acid was made as suspension by adding of cmc, will be examined its effectivity in this experiment. An experiment by using Randomized Block Design bifactor, which are dosage of suspension and suspension saving period before it was going to be added into the soaking water of Transvaal daisy cut flower. Respons of variable which analyzed are vase life, petal blooming capacity, dynamics of fresh weight relative and water absorpsiton relative 2-days. The result showed that dosage a 50 mLL-1 of suspension and three months saving period was the best compare to another respons variable.Keywords: Cut flower preservative, Dosage suspension
