Evaluation of the implementation of workshop and laboratory management on vocational high school Fuadillah Pangestu; Sukardi Sukardi

This research aims to reveal: the development of workshop and laboratory management implementation, also the suitability of facilities and infrastructure on Vocational High School in Banggai District, which refers to the indicator of good workshop and laboratory, according to the Directorate of Vocational Education. This research is evaluation research, which employs a goal free evaluation model and descriptive quantitative approach. The research sample involved in this study was 187 teachers and students. The data analysis technique used in this research was the average score and skewness. The result of this research shows that: (1) The workshop development is appropriate enough and good, yet it still needs further improvement with students to score at 81.19 and -0.229 also the teachers at 197.78 and -0.433. (2) The laboratory development is appropriate enough, and it still needs further improvement with students to score at 96.64 and 0.393, also the teachers at 209.03 and 0.36. (3) The suitability of the workshop's facilities and infrastructure is appropriate enough, and it still needs further improvement with the score at 250.205 and 0.549, and also the laboratory is appropriate enough and good, yet it still needs further improvement with the score at 252.80 and -1.694.

Vocational High School Teachers’ Efforts in Equipping Graduates with Soft Skills Based on Work Demands Rudi Nur Syamsudin; Sukardi Sukardi; He Shiyu

A preliminary study in Yogyakarta showed that the graduates’ enthusiasm to enter building construction study program in vocational high school was low. One of the factors affecting the graduates’ enthusiasm was related to the low-level teachers’ efforts in preparing the graduates’ soft skills. This study aimed to identify (1) the integration level of soft skills elements, and (2) the teachers' obstacles to equipping the graduates' soft skills. It was descriptive quantitative research conducted in the study program of building construction at vocational high schools. The results of the study showed: (1) the integration level of communicative ability, integration level of cooperative competence, integration level of motivating ability, integration level of developing etiquette and moral, and integration level of building responsibility were wholly integrated. Then, the integration level of problem-solving ability and integration level of science and technology mastery was mostly integrated; (2) the obstacles included: the students’ ignorance attitude, the lack of collaboration between the students’ parents and the school stakeholders in developing the graduates’ soft skills, the absence of soft skills training and the unsupported school culture. Those obstacles impeded the graduates’ soft skills.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja BKK SMK di Kabupaten Sleman pada jurusan Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) otomotif berdasarkan penilaian dari pengelola BKK, guru TKR otomotif, dan kinerja BKK dalam hal kebermanfaatan berdasarkan penilaian dari siswa kelas XII jurusan TKR otomotif. Penelitian Ini adalah penelitian evaluasi yang menggunakan model discrepancy. Penelitian ini dilakukan di lima Sekolah Kejuruan di Kabupaten Sleman, penelitian ini melibatkan pengelola BKK, guru TKR otomotif, dan siswa kelas XII TKR otomotif sebagai responden. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yaitu 5 dari 53 SMK yang telah memenuhi kriteria yang telah ditetapkan dan data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dalam bentuk invetori Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata penilaian dari Pengelola BKK yaitu sebesar 103,20 termasuk dalam kategori rendah dari skor yang ditetapkan sebelumnya untuk penilaian dari pengelola BKK yaitu 45 hingga 180.

Profil kompetensi siswa SMK kompetensi keahlian teknik kendaraan ringan di Kota Pekalongan Alan Andika Priyatama; Sukardi Sukardi

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) memperoleh informasi tentang profil kompetensi siswa serta ketersediaan fasilitas belajar; (2) untuk mengetahui nilai kompetensi siswa dengan standar kualifikasi kompetensi yang dibutuhkan di dunia kerja; (3) untuk menganalisis pengaruh kurikulum, kinerja mengajar guru, dan praktik kerja industri terhadap kompetensi siswa SMK Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di Kota Pekalongan. Jumlah anggota populasi pada penelitian ini adalah 305 siswa, dengan sampel 237 siswa yang diambil menggunakan teknik Klaster. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian ex-post facto dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Selanjutnya teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan cara penyebaran angket yang menggunakan model skala rating, yang dianalisisa dengan analisis regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) profil kompetensi siswa SMK Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di Kota Pekalongan telah sesuai dengan kebutuhan SKKNI Teknik Kendaraan Ringan dengan kontribusi kurikulum sebesar 17,06%, kinerja guru 37,49% dan prakerin 21,08% serta ketersediaan fasilitas belajar sudah memadai; (2) Kompetensi siswa SMK Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di Kota Pekalongan secara rata-rata adalah baik dan relevan dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 83.77; (3) kurikulum, kinerja guru dan praktik kerja industri berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kompetensi siswa SMK Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan di Kota Pekalongan. COMPETENCY PROFILE OF THE STUDENT OF SMK SKILL COMPETENCEOF LIGHT VEHICLE ENGINEERING IN PEKALONGANAbstractThe aims of this research were: (1) to obtain information about Students competency profiles and the availability of learning facilities; (2) to determine the students competency level using the standard qualifications needed for future job; (3) to analyze the effect of the curriculum, teacher proficiency and industry job practices on competencies of the students of SMK Skill Competence of Light Vehicle Engineering in Pekalongan.The number of the population in this study about 305 students, with sample number of 237 respondens had drawn using claster sampling techniques. This research was ex-post facto with the quantitative approach. Futhermore, the techniques of data collection are by way of distributing a questionnare using rate scale models, which were analysed by multiple regression.The results of the research show that: (1) the competency profile of the students of SMK Skill Competence of Light Vehicle Engineering students in Pekalongan in accordance with the requirements SKKNI Light Vehicle Engineering with 17.06% contribution of the curriculum, 37.49% contribution of teacher performance and 21.08% contribution of industry job practices and availability of learning facilities is adequate. (2) the competencies of the students of SMK Skill Competence of Light Vehicle Engineering in Pekalongan in average is good and relevant to the needs of the workforce with an average value of 83.77; (3) the curriculum, teachers proficiency and industry job practice have a positive and significant effect on the competencies of the students of SMK Skill Competence of Light Vehicle Engineering in Pekalongan.

Pengembangan modul prakarya dan kewirausahaan materi pengolahan berbasis product oriented bagi peserta didik SMK Anita Anggraini; Sukardi Sukardi

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan model tes minat dan bakat dengan metode jaringan syaraf tiruan; (2) memperoleh hasil uji fungsionalitas tes minat dan bakat yang dikembangkan dengan model Jaringan Syaraf Tiruan (JST); dan (3) memperoleh hasil unjuk kerja dari pengujian tes minat dan bakat dengan model jaringan syaraf tiruan untuk memprediksi potensi siswa bidang robotika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Subjek uji coba dibagi menjadi dua, uji coba secara terbatas pada 10 siswa dan uji coba secara luas sebanyak 31 siswa. Hasil dari penelitian pengembangan ini adalah: (1) keberhasilan produk yang dikembangkan dengan beberapa spesifikasi model yaitu; (a) JST dibangun dengan struktur single layer, jawaban tes sebagai masukan dan kesimpulan hasil tes sebagai keluaran; (b) Model pembelajaran JST menggunakan metode perceptron dengan model aktifasi pada JST menggunakan model bipolar (symmetric hard limit); (2) Proses pembelajaran secara terbimbing dengan 10 pola mendapatkan bobot yang dapat membedakan 10 pola dengan tepat, berdasar pengujian secara terbalik. (3) Pengujian secara luas menunjukan produk yang dibangun mampu memprediksi potensi siswa dalam bidang robotika, dengan membedakan 31 pola hasil tes siswa yang berbeda dengan menggunakan bobot yang didapat dari 10 pola pembelajaran. DEVELOPING INTEREST AND TALENT TEST USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK (ANN) TO PREDICT STUDENTS' APTITUDE IN ROBOTICSAbstractThis investigation was aimed: (1) to develop the model of interest and talent test using ANN; (2) to obtain the results of functionality examination of interest and talent test which is developed using ANN; and (3) to obtain the results of the performance from the examination of interest and talent test which is developed using ANN to predict students' aptitude in robotics. This study was a research and development. Subjects were divided into two trials, limited trial was given to 10 trainee students, and wider trial was tested on the 31 students. From the analysis, it can be concluded that: (1) the success of the products developed had some model specifications as follows; (a) ANN was built with a single-layered structure, the answers to the test was the input and the conclusion of the test was as output. (b) ANN learning model used a neural network perceptron method with activation of the ANN using bipolar model (symmetric hard limit). (2) The learning process was guided by the 10 patterns that could be weighted appropriately to distinguish 10 patterns, based on testing in reverse. (3) Extensive testing showed the developed product was able to predict the aptitude of students in the field of robotics, by distinguishing 31 different student examination result pattern using the weights obtained from the 10 patterns of learning.

Pengembangan modul pembelajaran kewirausahaan model student company di SMK Negeri 1 Godean Fetrika Anggraini; Sukardi Sukardi

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul kewirausahaan model student company yang layak digunakan di SMK. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Modul pembelajaran kewirausahaan model student company layak digunakan. (2) Menurut siswa, modul yang dikembangkan berkualitas sangat baik, serta jika dilihat dari nilai skewnes distribusi data adalah normal. (3) Penerapan modul dalam proses pembelajaran secara umun dapat terlaksana. (4) Peningkatan pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan modul yang dikembangkan berkategori sedang dengan rerata Uji-t sebesar 80,03 dan selisih nilai (effect size) 13,97 dengan persentase ketuntasan siswa sebesar 95%. Pembelajaran menggunakan modul juga mampu melatih kemandirian siswa dalam belajar dan mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan dalam bekerjasama. THE DEVELOPMENT OF A STUDENT COMPANY MODEL OF ENTREPRENEURIAL LEARNING MODULE AT SMK NEGERI 1 GODEANAbstractThis study aimed to develop a student company model of entrepreneurial learning module which was appropriate for SMK. This study was research and development. The results of the study were as follows. (1) The student company model of entrepreneurship learning module was appropriate for use. (2) According to the students, the developed module was excellent and the skewness of the data distribution was normal. (3) Generally, the implementation of the module in the learning process was succesful. (4) The increase of the students"Ÿ understanding by using the developed module was in the fair category with an average t-test score of 80,3 and the difference in value (effect size) of 13,97 with students"Ÿ mastery percentage of 95%. The learning using the module was also able to train the students' autonomy in learning and able to improve the ability to cooperate.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul prakarya dan kewirausahaan materi kerajinan berbasis proses yang layak digunakan di SMK. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: (1) modul prakarya dan kewirausahaan materi kerajinan berbasis proses layak digunakan; (2) menurut siswa, modul yang dikembangkan berkualitas sangat baik, dan jika dilihat dari nilai skewness distribusi data adalah normal; (3) penerapan modul dalam proses pembelajaran secara umun dapat terlaksana; dan (4) peningkatan pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan modul yang dikembangkan berkategori sedang dengan rerata gain score sebesar 0,62 dan selisih nilai (effect size) 14,5 dengan persentase ketuntasan siswa sebesar 87%. Pembelajaran menggunakan modul juga mampu melatih kemandirian siswa dalam belajar dan mampu menumbuhkan kemampuan dalam bekerjasama. The results of the study were as follows: (1) the developed craft and entrepreneurship module of process-based craft materials was appropriate for use; (2) according to the students, the developed module was very good and the skewness of the data distribution was normal; (3) in general, the implementation of the module in the learning process was succesful; (4) the improvement of the students' understanding after using the developed module was in a fair category with an average score gain of 0.62 and the difference in value (effect size) was 14.5 with the percentage of mastery of about 87%. The instruction using the module was also able to train the students' autonomy in learning and to generate the ability to cooperate. The study was to describe the implementation of the entrepreneurial character education through the school culture in the vocational high schools (VHSs).The method that the researcher made use in the study was the qualitative one. The study was conducted in the 2 Depok Public Vocational High School and the 2 Pengasih Public Vocational High School. The data source in the study was the school members, the documents, and the school cultures. The data was collected by means of observation, interview, and documentation. For the instruments, the researcher made use of the human instrument and the interview guideline. The data was analyzed by using the open coding, the axial coding and the selective coding. The findings in the research were as folows: the entrepreneurial character education by means of the school culture implementation in the VHSs had been included in the entrepreneurship culture through: (1 ) the five artifacts in the verbal/conceptual dimension that might generate 17 dominant entrepreneurial characters; (2) the five artifacts in the action/behavioral dimension that might generate 8 dominant entrepreneurial characters; and (3) the four artifacts in the physical/material dimension that might generate seven dominant entrepreneurial characters.
