Abstract

Abstract

Processed food from rabbit meat has great potential as a healthy food for people. High protein and low fat is the superiority from rabbit meat, but food from rabbit meat is not familiar as chicken meat. There are several processed food from rabbit meat in Banyumas, one of them which is UMKM Rabbit Satay at the Baturraden Lokawisata. The purpose of this research is to find out strategy for development for UMKM Rabbit Satay. This research was conducted from September to October 2022. The result of this research using SWOT analysis showed that position of the UMKM Rabbit Satay at the Baturraden Lokawisata is in V position (Hold and Maintenance). Meaning is necessary to maintain good performance and fixed some bad performance. The strength and opportunities is the highest score of 3.444. This means that beautiful view can make consumer to enjoy it with some food, high protein content needs to be advertising or make a banners, lots of visitors have a healthy lifestyle make opportunities can be combined with discount prices or can increase the number of orders.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of quantitative production parameters on the Performance Index (PI) of broiler chickens. Five key variables were examined: mortality, culling, feed conversion ratio (FCR), final body weight, and harvesting age. The analysis utilized secondary historical data from 17 production cycles of broiler chickens at PT XYZ between 2021 and 2023. Multiple linear regression was employed after satisfying classical assumption tests. Results indicate that all independent variables significantly influenced PI both simultaneously (p < 0.05) and partially. The adjusted R-squared value of 99.81% demonstrates that the model explains nearly all variation in the performance index. Partially, final body weight had the highest positive impact on PI (coefficient +223.11), followed by FCR (-184.84), harvesting age (-10.41), culling (-3.61), and mortality (-3.238), all with negative effects. These findings highlight the critical role of production parameter control in optimizing broiler performance efficiency.

Abstract

Microclimate conditions significantly influence broiler production efficiency in tropical climates. This study evaluated microclimate conditions and their impact on production and economic efficiency in open, semi-closed, and closed housing systems. The research was conducted on three commercial farms representing each housing system in West Java. Microclimate parameters (temperature, relative humidity, heat stress index) and production performance (body weight, FCR, mortality, production index) were measured over one production cycle. Results showed that the closed-house system maintained significantly better microclimate conditions with lower temperature deviations (brooding: -0.52°C; post-brooding: -0.35°C) compared to open (1.06°C; 5.11°C) and semi-closed houses (0.07°C; 1.54°C). The closed-house system achieved significantly higher final body weight (2397.6 g/bird), production index (434), and income over feed cost (Rp 31,238/bird) compared to other systems. Correlation analysis revealed strong negative relationships between temperature parameters and production performance (p<0.01). The closed-house system demonstrated superior microclimate control, leading to significantly improved production efficiency and economic returns.
