Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis praktikum untuk meningkatan penguasaan konsep dan  keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP pada subkonsep difusi osmosis. Model pembelajaran yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran berbasis praktikum dan pembelajaran konvensional dengan metode demonstrasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperimen dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Non-Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Kelas yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas tes penguasaan konsep, tes keterampilan proses sains, dan angket respon siswa. Tes diberikan pada awal pembelajaran dan setelah pembelajaran. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis praktikum mempengaruhi penguasan konsep dan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Hasil uji menunjukkan adanya perbedaan hasil tes antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Rata-rata nilai pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Terdapat hubungan yang baik antara hasil tes penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan proses sains. Siswa memberikan respon yang positif terhadap model pembelajaran berbasis praktikum.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Berbasis Praktikum, Penguasaan Konsep, Keterampilan Proses Sains, Difusi-Osmosis

Abstract

Penelusuran menggunakan angket menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua konsep yang yang tercakup dalam kisi-kisi pengembangan soal disampaikan oleh guru di kelas. Terdapat konsep yang tidak didapatkan siswa dari guru tetapi didapatkan dari hasil penalaran siswa terhadap informasi yang ada pada soal dan teman yaitu memperkirakan jenis dan jumlah makanan yang harus dimakan setiap hari berdasarkan piramida makanan serta mengidentifikasi jenis dan kandungan zat makanan berdasarkan label pada kemasan makanan.   Search using the questionnaire showed that not all concepts covered in the lattice about the development delivered by teachers in the classroom. There is a concept that does not get students from the teacher but the students come from the reasoning of the existing information on the matter and your friends are estimating the type and amount of food should be eaten every day by the food pyramid and identify the type and content of nutrients on the labels on food packaging.

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan melakukan kajian  tentang hubungan antara keterampilan mengajar menganalisis materi pelajaran, menuntun siswa menguasai konsep, dan memberi penguatan konsep dengan pengasaan konsep gizi pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi FPMIPA UPI. Sebagai calon guru Biologi mahasiswa Program Studi  Pendidikan Biologi dibekali dengan konsep-konsep yang diperlukan untuk mengajar serta dibekali pula dengan keterampilan mengajar. Salah satu mata kuliah yang ditawarkan kepada mahasiswa adalah mata kuliah Ilmu Gizi yang membekali mahasiswa dengan pengetahuan dasar, keterampilan mengukur status gizi, dan keterampilan merancang program pendidikan gizi. Selain itu, mahasiswa yang sama juga dibekali dengan keterampilan dasar mengajar yang mencakup keterampilan membuat rancangan kegiatan pembelajaran, serta mensimulasikannya di kelas pada mata kuliah Perencanaan Pembelajaran Biologi. Konsep serta keterampilan yang didapat mahasiswa pada kuliah Ilmu Gizi seharusnya dapat menunjang keterampilan dasar mengajar pada mata kuliah Perencanaan Pengajaran Biologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jurusan Pendidikan Biologi FPMIPA UPI selama 2 semester.Data yang digunakan adalah data nilai pada mata kuliah Ilmu Gizi yang dikorelasikan dengan data nilai tes tertulis yang meminta mahasiswa merancang kegiatan pembelajaran pada topic Makanan dan Kesehatan. Jumlah mahasiswa yang dilibatkan sebanyak 74 orang. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik uji korelasi. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa korelasi antara penguasaan konsep Gizi dengan kemampuan mengajarkan konsep Makanan dan Kesehatan lemah (0,233). Keterampilan mengajar yang paling dikuasai adalah keterampilan membuka dan menutup pelajaran sedangkan keterampilan yang paling kurang dikuasai adalah keterampilan memberikan penguatan serta merancang asesmen. Mahasiswa yang memiliki nilai mata kuliah Ilmu Gizi yang baik (rentang nilai) belum tentu memiliki kemampuan merancang program pembelajaran yang baik pada konsep Makanan dan Kesehatan. Kesimpulan yang didapat adalah penguasaan konsep yang baik saja belum cukup sebagai bekal merancang dan melaksanakan pembelajaran pada konsep terkait. Diperlukan bekal kemampuan mentransfer pengetahuan dan mengintegrasikannya dengan kemampuan mengelola kelas.   Kata Kunci: pengetahuan gizi, penguasaan keterampilan dasar mengajar, korelasi.

Abstract

This study was based on the urgency of critical thinking skills and decision making as part of Higher Order Thinking Skills which students need to master, in addition to the abundance of issues about the dangers resulting from the use of plastic bags related to the environmental pollution topic. The aims of this study were to describe the critical thinking skills and decision making; and to identify the correlation of critical thinking skills with decision making. The method of this study was correlational which involved 30 students of 7th grade of junior high school in SMPN 1 Lembang. The research data were collected by using critical thinking skills test and decision making skills test in the form of an essay. The correlation of both skills were analyzed by using Spearman’s rho Correlation Test using SPSS 16.0, as for interview as the complement. The findings of this study showed that the mean values of both skills are categorized as good. In critical thinking, question at issue, information, and assumptions indicators are categorized as “moderate”; indicator of concept, interpretation and inference, also the implication and consequences are categorized as “good”; while indicator of purpose and point of view is categorized as “excellent”. In decision making, defining problems and evaluation indicators are categorized as “good”, while indicators of generating alternatives, checking risks and consequences, and selecting alternatives are categorized as “excellent”. Critical thinking skills and decision making of students on the use of plastic bags were found to have a significant correlation, positive, and moderate correlation level with 0.458 correlation coefficient. Therefore, it can be concluded that critical thinking skills have a positive correlation with student’s decision making skills on the use of plastic bags.

Abstract

The article aimed to investigate in detail the impact of the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain And Create) learning model on primary school students' science literacy in the water cycle material. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design. This research was conducted on 100 primary school students in Bandung, Indonesia. The data collection technique was using observation and science literacy tests. Observations were used to see the implementation of the RADEC learning model, and tests were used to see the impact of the RADEC learning model on students' science literacy. The results of this study indicated that the RADEC learning model on the water cycle material can be implemented well. In addition, the RADEC learning model has proven to have an impact on students' science literacy, this could be seen from the results of the N-Gain score of science literacy, which was 0.48 in the medium category. The results of the mean difference test show that there was a significant difference between the pretest and the posttest score, the sig. value of the mean difference test results was 0.000. So, the RADEC learning model had an impact on students' science literacy in primary schools. This research contributed to education in an effort to realize meaningful learning through the implementation of an innovative learning model, namely the RADEC learning model, and this model was very suitable to be applied in learning to develop various skills in the 21st century, including science literacy

Abstract

Habits of mind is one of the dimensions of long-term learning that allow productive actions to occur and can produce positive student character in solving problems in their lives. The importance of habits of mind is in contrast to the ability of habits of mind of students in one of the high schools in Bandung City which is still low. Based on this, the researcher aims to analyze the biology learning process carried out by teachers to further understand the factors that influence students' habits of mind. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive. The sample was chosen using convenience sampling, so that 34 samples were obtained from class X students and biology teacher at one of the state high schools in Bandung City. The research results show that the low level of students' habits of mind is because teacher has not implemented how to develop students' habits of mind in classroom learning. Differentiated learning, student centers, reflection activities, and learning independence in using resources are the next researchers' recommendations for interventions to improve students' habits of mind.
