Abstract

ABSTRAK Tukad Mati is one of watershed that is flow through two regencies of Badung and Denpasar that has 12 km length. Tukad Mati functioned as irrigation, drainage system and as the exile of wastewater from all activities along the river. Because of the pollution, the water quality has degraded. The source of pollution is organic matter pollutant, agricultural pollutant such as pesticide and hazardous waste. The aim of this research is knowing the pollutant loading rate from point source and non point source using Qual2kw model, to define that amount of pollutant that are allowed to exile in Tukad Mati river. The water quality parameter that analyzed is DO, COD, BOD and Phosphate. This research divided into three sections, and 4 scenario of simulation to know allowed loading rate of pollutant along the river. The result of simulation using Qual2kw for BOD that is the minimum DO loading rate was 1,15 kg/day for section 1 then maximum loading rate is 64,88 kg/day on section 3. Meanwhile for COD parameter, the minimum loading rate is 1446,61 kg/day and in the upstream the minimum COD loading rate 1375,06 kg/day. For phosphate parameter the loading rate that allowed is 0,79 kg/day, while in the upstream maximum 12,57 kg/day on segment 3. Keywrods : Tukad Mati, Qual2KW 5.1, Loading Rate, water quality

Abstract

Bali island as one of the best tourism destinations in the world is producing waste around 4.281 ton/day, including the temple waste. Every month, over 3 million Balinese Hindus carry out ceremonies. At the end of the day, each temple produces about 2000 L of temple waste, which is directly disposed to landfill without any treatment due to the insufficiency of waste processing facilities. The treatment of temple waste potentially such as water sanitation, waste accumulation, pollution, and human health. This study describes the characteristic of temple waste generated from home and the efforts of temple waste recycling initiatives. The temple waste is generally composed by 80% of organic material, such as flowers, leaves, fruit and food waste, coconut, bamboo, and in other side the plastic does exist. Some initiatives in recycling the temple waste were done in the previous research, such as aromatherapeutic incense from discarded flowers, generating vermicompost by mixing the discarded flowers with cow dung, and producing biofuel from marigold flowers. A recycling improvement is urgently needed by the existing temple waste in Bali. It is expected that Balinese Temple as the cultural icon of Bali would not be longer become the waste contributor to the landfill.

Abstract

Tukad Nyuling is a watershed with a watershed area of 7,436 ha (BPDAS Undaanyar) and a length of 13 km, flowing year-round generally flowing to the south. Period I monitoring of BOD and detergent parameters in the upstream, middle and downstream of Tukad Nyuling has exceeded the class II water quality standard. Parametar total coliform in the downstream Tukad Nyuling condition has exceeded the standard of grade II water quality, with a concentration of 7,000/100 ml. COD parameters in the middle of Tukad Nyuling conditions that have exceeded the standard of class II water quality, where COD concentration reaches 31.10 mg/L. Monitoring period II BOD parameters in the upstream, middle and downstream Tukad Nyuling has exceeded the standard water quality class II, BOD concentration ranges from 5.28 mg/L to 5.79 mg/L. Concentrated detergent in the middle and downstream Tukad Nyuling has exceeded the standard of class II water quality, the concentration of detergent in the middle reaches 16.21 mg/L while in the downstream reaches 18.46 mg / L. Based on the status of water quality with the method of index pollutant upstream has a mild pollutant status while the middle and downstream have a moderate pollutant status.

Abstract

This article presents a critical discourse on environmental management and spatial planning in Bali. Using Foucault's (1973) theory, this article presents an empirical discourse on environmental degradation in Bali as a breakthrough in thinking awareness. Through an in-depth literature review, this article begins with (1) describing the construction of ideas on environmental management and spatial planning, and (2) presenting Balinese philosophical values and views in building awareness of ecocentrism. This study is expected to provide a systemic perspective on how the value system that is believed to be the socio-cultural view of the Balinese people is translated into spatial planning and its environment. This discourse then leads to the context that in the sociocultural view of the Balinese people, everything that exists in nature is interdependent as a unified ecosystem that must be maintained and preserved. At the ecocentrism level, the Balinese people's philosophy of life believes in the values of deep respect for all aspects of life, starting from the biotic-abiotic components, animals, plants and everything on earth as a manifestation of the concept of tat twam asi.

Abstract

In this study, samples will be taken from 6 Communal WWTP locations in the City of Malang. Based on the review of Communal IPAL by DEWATS, the majority of IPAL Communal is not monitored, so it is necessary to evaluate evaluation on the ability and willingness of the community to care for WWTPs Communal with operating costs according to SOP. Based on the results of the evaluation of the financial aspect, the willingness of residents to pay fees between 2000 rupiahs to 5000 rupiahs and the ability of residents to pay at the Tlogomas Communal IPAL is Rp. 11,150, Oro - Oro Dowo Rp. 7,125, Jodipan Rp. 8,900, Kota Lama Rp. 8,750, Mergososo Rp. 6,150, and Gadang Rp. 8,900.

Abstract

Important role of rivers in daily life is used as a means of providing clean water, irrigation systems for farmers, transportation facilities and sports such as rafting. In Bali, rivers have an important role as a means of tourism activity. Utilization of water resources such as rivers in various activities will certainly affect the quantity and quality of rivers. The water quality of the Ayung River has decreased due to dense number of settlements around the river and heterogeneous community activity patterns with increased domestic waste production. Based on results from analysis parameter and determining status of river, it was found that Ayung River in the upstream, middle and downstream part was included in the lightly polluted category. This is due to the TSS and Faecal coliform parameters whose values exceed the quality standard. Faecal coliform content upstream of the Ayung River is 170 MPN/100mL. The content of TSS and Faecal coliform in the middle of the Ayung River was 131 mg/mL and 84 MPN/100mL. Meanwhile, the content of TSS and Faecal coliform downstream of the Ayung River was 114 mg/mL and 790 MPN/100mL.
