Abstract

Every one of us uses carbon dioxide emitting energy source in our daily activities. The purposes of this research were to obtain information on the level of household activities of carbon footprint and to obtain information on the most influential factor of household activities in Denpasar City. The research method employed was the descriptive quantitative. The analysis of the first purpose was obtained by the multiplication of emission factor and the use of LPG and electrical capacity. The analysis of the second purpose was obtained by implementing the analysis of doubled linier regression supported by employing SPSS version 16.00 program for Windows. The research result showed that the average of the total carbon footprint was as big as 138,037.02 g of carbon/month. Based on that average, the total of carbon footprint in Denpasar city with as many as 15,908 households was 2,195.89 ton CO2e/month. The statistic analysis test showed the factors that influenced the carbon footprint were the amount of household members, the amount of household equipments which needed LPG to operate, the amount of household equipments which needed electricity to operate and the duration of using electric equipments whose R2 power was as big as 90%. The duration of using electric equipments had the highest correlation with the value of 62.70 %. It is suggested that households should use energy saving equipments such as LED products; the government should consistently promote carbon saving movements; and to future research to calculate carbon footprint by using DNPI carbon calculator, or by using software LEAP.

Abstract

The high demand for fish for local consumption and export has led to overfishing and increased the trade of fish that are prohibited by law and international agreements. Therefore, this study aims to calculate species diversity and determine the conservation status of fish traded in traditional fish markets in Bali. Field sampling was carried out at fish markets located in Badung, Buleleng, Karangasem, and Jembrana. Samples are identified to the lowest taxa level that can be determined, based on morphological characters. Diversity parameters such as the Shannon diversity index (H), Simpson (Simp), Fisher Alpha, Species richness (S) and Pielou's evenness (J) were calculated using the Rstudio while the determination of conservation status refers to the IUCN Red List. The number of fish samples collected was 69 individuals from 23 families. Of the total 69 individuals, 61 individuals were successfully identified to species level, while the rest of it were identified to the genus level. The results showed that the family of Labridae/wrasses has the highest number of species (9 species) followed by Clupeidae and Scombridae (7 species each). The result of diversity indices showed that the Kedonganan fish market (Badung) has the highest diversity. Evaluation of the conservation status of traded fish showed that 80% of the traded fish species are still in LC (Least Concern) status, although one species identified as bigeye tuna, Thunnus obesus, is known to have VU (Vulnerable) status.   Tingginya permintaan ikan untuk konsumsi lokal maupun ekspor menyebabkan terjadinya overfishing dan meningkatkan perdagangan ikan-ikan yang dilarang oleh undang-undang maupun kesepakatan internasional. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung keanekaragaman jenis dan menentukan status konservasi ikan yang diperdagangkan di pasar ikan tradisional di Bali. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di pasar ikan yang terletak di kabupaten Badung, Buleleng, Karangasem, dan Jembrana. Sampel diidentifikasi sampai pada level taksa terendah yang bisa ditentukan, berdasarkan pada karakter morfologi. Parameter keanekaragaman seperti indeks keanekaragaman Shannon (H), Simpson (Simp), Fisher Alpha, Species richness (S) dan Pielou’s evenness (J) dihitung dengan Rstudio sedangkan penentuan status konservasi mengacu pada IUCN RedList. Jumlah sampel ikan yang dikumpulkan sebanyak 69 individu dari 23 famili. Dari total 69 individu, 61 individu berhasil diidentifikasi sampai pada level spesies sedangkan sisanya sampai level genus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Famili Labridae/wrasses memiliki jumlah spesies terbanyak (9 spesies) disusul oleh Clupeidae dan Scombridae (masing-masing 7 spesies). Hasil analisis keanekaragaman menunjukkan bahwa pasar ikan Kedonganan (Badung) memiliki keanekaragaman tertinggi. Evaluasi terhadap status konservasi ikan yang diperdagangkan menunjukkan bahwa 80% jenis ikan yang diperdagangkan masih dalam status LC (Least Concern) meskipun ditemukan juga satu spesies yaitu tuna mata besar, Thunnus obesus yang diketahui dalam status VU (Vulnerable).

Abstract

One of the recoverable coastal resources that can make a high contribution to the coastal environment and to coastal communities is the seagrass ecosystem. Seagrass is a flowering aquatic plant that has the ability to adapt to live in the marine environment. Seagrass has many functions, such as a nursery ground, a feeding ground and a spawning ground for fish and other biota that have high economic value. Various threats to the sustainability of the seagrass ecosystem in Indonesia continue to increase year after year. Commonly used seagrass transplant methods include the plug, sprig, tie sack and frame method. Kawaroe et al., (2008) stated that the method that produced the highest seagrass yield was the plug method. Likewise, Lanuru et al., 2013 found that the plug method resulted in a better survival rate compared to the staple and frame method. The success of a transplant method is also largely determined by the characteristics of the substrate at the transplant site. According to Lanuru (2011), the sediment characteristics consisting of fine, muddy sand are better than coarse sand and less muddy as a substrate for Enhalus acoroides seagrass transplantation.

Abstract

The technique of remediation of heavy metal contaminated soil can be done biologically with the help of microorganisms. Bioremediation is a soil remediation technique that uses enzymes from microorganisms in an effort to rehabilitate soil. The bioremediation mechanism occurs when enzymes derived from the activity of microorganisms interact with heavy metals in the soil and then convert them into uncomplicated chemical structures so that the level of heavy metal toxicity decreases. Among biological agents, enzymes have great potential to effectively convert and detoxify pollutant substances because enzymes have been recognized to be capable of converting pollutants at detectable levels and are potentially suitable for restoring polluted environments. Eco-enzyme is a fermented liquid produced from the composition of fruit/vegetable organic waste, water and brown sugar, which is an alternative product in helping the process of soil biodegradation. Eco-enzymes contain hydrolytic enzymes that can increase soil fertility and can be used as an effort to degrade heavy metals in polluted soil.

Abstract

Pendidikan adalah hak dasar bagi setiap warga negara Indonesia untuk dapat menikmatinya. Kenyataannya masih terdapat anak-anak yang belum mengenyam dunia pendidikan. Hal ini disebabkan berbagai faktor baik dari segi ekonomi, zonasi dan sebagainya. Seperti yang terjadi pada TPA Suwung, masih banyak anak-anak yang belum berpendidikan dan memiliki pengetahuan serta ketrampilan tentang pemanfaatan limbah sampah menjadi barang bernilai ekonomis. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penyuluhan, pelatihan dan evaluasi. Program pengabdian yang akan dilaksanakan, yaitu penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang pentingnya mengembangkan kreatifitas dan pemanfaatan limbah sampah menjadi barang bernilai ekonomis kepada anak-anak TPA Suwung dan penyuluhan dan pembuatan akun media sisoal sebagai media promosi. Adapun tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat, yaitu untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya mengembangkan kreatifitas sejak dini dan pemnafaatan sumber daya yang ada disekitar.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Usaha Ternak Satwa Sari bertujuan meningkatkan kesejahteraan peternak dan mendukung ekonomi lokal melalui diversifikasi produk telur bebek menjadi telur asin. Dalam kegiatan ini, 15 anggota Usaha Ternak Satwa Sari dilatih dalam pembuatan telur asin melalui tahapan penyuluhan, praktek langsung, dan evaluasi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta dari 28.93% menjadi 88%. Diversifikasi ini mengurangi risiko pasar, menambah nilai produk, dan membantu perkembangan pasar baru, mendukung keberlanjutan usaha ternak. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif pada ekonomi lokal, meningkatkan kemandirian peternak, serta membuka peluang pasar dan pengembangan usaha peternakan. Dukungan berkelanjutan seperti penyediaan modal, infrastruktur, akses pasar yang lebih luas, dan pengembangan produk olahan bernilai tambah diperlukan. Kolaborasi tim PKM Unmas Denpasar dan Usaha Ternak Satwa Sari memberikan manfaat nyata dalam mengembangkan hasil ternak bebek dan mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal di Kabupaten Jembrana. Duck Salted-Egg Production Training for Improving the Business Competitiveness of Satwa Sari in Jembrana Regency Community service activities at the Sari Animal Farm Business aim to improve the welfare of farmers and support the local economy by diversifying duck egg products into salted eggs. In this activity, 15 members of the Sari Animal Farm Business were trained in making salted eggs through the stages of counseling, direct practice and evaluation. The results of the training showed an increase in participants' knowledge from 28.93% to 88%. This diversification reduces market risk, adds product value, and helps the development of new markets, supporting the sustainability of livestock businesses. The success of this activity has had a positive impact on the local economy, increasing the independence of breeders, as well as opening up market opportunities and livestock business development. Continuous support such as providing capital, infrastructure, wider market access and development of value-added processed products is needed. The collaboration between the PKM Unmas Denpasar team and the Sari Animal Farming Business has provided real benefits in developing duck livestock products and supporting local economic growth in Jembrana Regency.

Abstract

Kabupaten Badung sebagai pusat pariwisata Bali memiliki potensi sebagai penyumbang emisi karbon yang bersumber dari jasa akomodasi pariwisata. Vila merupakan jasa akomodasi dengan sumber penghasil emisi karbon primer dari penggunaan bahan bakar LPG dalam aktivitas memasak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan persentase nilai jejak karbon primer pada jasa akomodasi villa di Kabupaten Badung sebagai pertimbangan dalam pemenuhan ruang terbuka hijau. Data primer dari penelitian diperoleh dengan melakukan survey sebanyak 60 vila.Variabel penelitian terdiri atas jumlah penggunaan bahan bakar LPG per bulan pada setiap vila. Jejak karbon primer diperoleh dari nilai faktor emisi LPG dikalikan dengan jumlah penggunaan bahan bakar selama satu bulan. Persentase jejak karbon primer pada jasa akomodasi vila di Kecamatan Kuta Selatan sebesar 36,76% dan memiliki nilai paling tinggi dibandingkan Kecamatan Kuta 34,31% dan Kecamatan Kuta Utara 28,92%. Nilai persentase carbon footprint primer berbanding lurus terhadap rata-rata penggunaan bahan bakar LPG per bulan. Emisi CO2 primer dipengaruhi oleh jumlah LPG dalam aktivitas memasak di vila. Salah satu solusi alternatif untuk menanggulangi jejak karbon primer pada vila adalah menciptakan ruang terbuka hijau melalui pembuatan taman vertikal. Konsep taman vertikal pada vila sebagai ruang terbuka hijau berfungsi menyerap polusi seperti emisi CO2 sehingga kualitas udara sekitarnya menjadi lebih baik.

Abstract

Canang sari merupakan simbolik dari kehadiran Ida Sang Hyang Widhi. Sebelum memulai kegiatan belajar, sekolah di Bali selalu menghaturkan canang sari di Pura Sekolah. Canang sari menjadi sampah ketika sudah selesai digunakan dalam kegiatan persembahyangan di sekolah. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah siswa mampu melaksanakan siklus canang sari. Pelaksanaan pengabdian dilakukan selama 4 bulan dengan tahapan observasi, persiapan dan perancangan kegiatan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah Siswa-siswi SD Sarawati 6 Denpasar memahami makna dari canang sari. Indikator penilaian meliputi memahami pengertian canang sari, memahami fungsi canang sari, menyebutkan bahan-bahan untuk membuat canang sari, membuat canang sari, memahami jenis-jenis sampah, membedakan sampah organik dan non organik, menjelaskan manfaat sampah organik dan non organik. Pada kegiatan kegidua, siswa-siswi SD Saraswati 6 Denpasar mampu memahami dan membuat kompos dari canang sari. Indikator penilaian yaitu mampu menyebutkan alat dan bahan pembuatan kompos dari canang sari, melaksanakan pembuatan kompos dari canang sari, menganalisis keadaan kompos pada saat pembuatan, dan mempresentasikan cara membuat kompos dari canang sari. Training on Making Compost from Canang Sari Offerings At SD Saraswati 6, Denpasar, BaliCanang sari is symbolic of the presence of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi. Before starting learning activities, schools in Bali always offer canang sari at the tample. Canang sari becomes garbage when it has finished being used in prayer activities at school. The purpose of this community service is that students are able to carry out the canang sari cycle. The implementation of the service was carried out for 4 months with the stages of observation, preparation and design of activities, implementation of activities, and evaluation. The results of community service activities are students of SD Sarawati 6 Denpasar understand the meaning of canang sari. Assessment indicators include understanding the meaning of canang sari, understanding the function of canang sari, mentioning the ingredients for making canang sari, making canang sari, understanding the types of waste, distinguishing organic and non-organic waste, explaining the benefits of organic and non-organic waste. In the second activity, students of SD Saraswati 6 Denpasar were able to understand and make compost from canang sari. The assessment indicators are being able to mention the tools and materials for making compost from canang sari, carry out the making of compost from canang sari, analyze the state of compost at the time of making, and present how to make compost from canang sari.

Abstract

Storynomics tourism is about packaging the beautiful charm of a tourist destination in an interesting story, so that it becomes an attraction for foreign tourists visiting places of interests in Indonesia. Every tourist destination in Indonesia has its own uniqueness and this can be packaged in the form of storynomics tourism which can promote tourism and the creative economy in Indonesia. The training and consultation of designing agritourism attraction programs with storynomics values reported in this paper aimed at preparing tourism programs, i.e. branding for Kampung Kopi Camp (KKC) and Yeh Nu Garden (YNG), two interesting tourist attractions at Batungsel village, Pupuan subdistrict, Tabanan regency, Bali province. Designing storynomics agritourism at Batungsel Village, Tabanan Regency, Bali was realized through several stages, namely (1) compiling tour packages connecting one place to another with the close routes, (2) telling the stories about Robusta coffee roasting and its local wisdom, and (3) developing agritourism high quality fruits at Batungsel village. All of these steps were applied in accordance with the main focus of the Community Empowerment Program designed to develop agritourism at the rural area of Bali.

Abstract

Desa Biaung adalah desa di Kecamatan Penebel, Kabupaten Tabanan, Provinsi Bali yang telah ditetapkan sebagai Desa Wisata. Pengelolaan sampah di Desa Biaung masih terbatas pada pengumpulan tanpa adanya kegiatan daur ulang atau pengelolaan oleh kelompok pemuda. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah melakukan peningkatan peran pemuda dalam kegiatan akselerasi pengelolaan sampah, yaitu dengan mengolah sampah menjadi produk bernilai jual dan bermanfaat. Komponen kegiatan pengabdian meliputi 1) sosialisasi pengelolaan sampah pura berbasis ekonomi sirkular, 2) pelatihan daur ulang sampah pura, dan 3) monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan. Berdasarkan hasil monitoring diketahui kemampuan kelompok pemuda (74 orang) dalam mengolah sampah pura mengalami peningkatan pada pemahaman sampah organik dan non organik dari 75% menjadi 85%, pemahaman pengolahan sampah pura dari 60% menjadi 85%, pemahaman desa sirkular dari 60% menjadi 75%, pemahaman promosi produk daur ulang dari 55% menjadi 75%, dan keterampilan pengolahan sampah pura dari 20% menjadi 85%. Tindak lanjut yang perlu dilakukan untuk Desa Biaung adalah melatih pengolahan sampah dengan jenis produk lain yang memiliki manfaat lebih baik seperti bahan bakar alternatif
