Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has increased the improvement of air quality in various countries in the world, such as China, Italy, New York, India, Spain and Korea. This study aims to compare ambient air quality during the Covid-19 pandemic with new normal and normal periods, assess the effect of meteorological factors on ambient air quality, and map the spatial distribution of ambient air quality during the normal, Covid-19 pandemic and new normal in the ITDC Nusa Dua area. Air concentration parameter data and meteorological factors were collected using the midget impinger and direct reading method in 2019 (normal period), March and May 2020 (Covid-19 pandemic period) and July, September, and November 2020 (new normal period). Furthermore, comparing air quality using the Anova test, assessing the effect of meteorological factors on air quality using a linear regression test, and mapping the distribution of ambient air using the ArcGis 10.8 application. The analysis showed that the air quality during the Covid-19 pandemic and the new normal was significantly different from the normal period. The concentrations of SO2, NO2, NH3, CO, TSP and H2S during the Covid-19 pandemic and normal just decreased while the O3 concentration increased compared to the normal period. The meteorological factor that affects air quality is the wind speed, the higher the wind speed the lower the O3 concentration. Map of the distribution of spatial concentrations of SO2, NO2, NH3, CO, O3 and H2S in the normal, Covid-19 pandemic and new normal, lowest at the coast point of the peninsula and the highest distribution at the ITDC roundabout, bima statue or influence TSP is the highest spatial concentration of normal distribution at the ITDC roundabout and the bima statue, while the Covid-19 pandemic and normal are only at the coast point of the peninsula beach. Keywords: ambient air quality; Covid-19; pandemic; tourism.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted various business sectors including the tourism sector. Hotel industry in Denpasar City has closed its business operations, laid off its employees and terminated their employees. This study was conducted to map the distribution of employees layoff at star hotels in Denpasar City and formulate strategies for star hotels to reduce employee layoff rate due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Eight (8) star hotels in Denpasar City were used as samples based on the data released by Bali Province Manpower and Energy Office in 2020. Questionnaires were distributed to collect data from October to December 2020. This study employed a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods in the forms of qualitative descriptive analysis approach, SWOT analysis and QSPM. The results showed that the largest number of layoffs occurred in the 3-star hotel cluster with an average layoff of 32 percent. Market penetration through optimization of information technology-based promotion tools (IT) is proposed as the main strategy to overcome the problem. The results of this study are expected to provide overviews and recommendations for hotel management in applying this strategy more effectively through professional communication and resource management in order to avoid employee layoffs.

Abstract

Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) have been established in each and every village in the Kerambitan District as part of the government's ongoing effort to promote village tourism. The economic potential of the village's natural resources is underutilized because the Pokdarwis party does a poor job of managing and capitalizing on tourism opportunities to tap into these resources. Each of the Kerambitan District's villages features a Tourist Destination of Interest (DTW), which represents a golden opportunity to earn from tourism by creating and selling a customized tour package. Kerambitan District's DTW is mostly made up of natural tourism possibilities, such as rice fields and beaches. Kerambitan District's attractions rely only on entrance fees from tourists for revenue, hence there are no tour packages available at this time. The objective is that this package would encourage more people to visit Kerambitan District and enjoy its many attractions. SIGADis, a web-based tool, is used to aid partners in the Kerambitan District with promotions, reservations, and ticket sales. To develop an integrated system in the Kerambitan District, this SIGADis app provides details on DTW in the form of narratives and visuals, as well as tour packages, ancillary services, lodging options, and geographic coordinates. Partners receive support and training as they learn to use the SIGADis application. The effectiveness of the SIGADis application training was evaluated by administering surveys to course participants, with scores averaging between 80% and 90%. These results indicate that individuals now comprehend how to utilize the SIGADis application better than previously

Abstract

Abstract

Shallow coastal bathymetric data has an important role in various applications, especially in maritime and coastal management fields. Various survey techniques to produce such data have been carried out by several researchers, one technique that is cheap, covers the wide area, flexible, and produces high-resolution bathymetric data is UAV-photogrammetry. However, this technique is affected by refraction effects that cause the estimated depth of underwater objects to be shallower than fact, thus reducing the accuracy of the bathymetric model. Therefore, the objective of this study is to present a simple refraction correction method based on the Least-Square method. To test the reliability of the method, the accuracy of the model is compared with two other methods (without correction and using a correction factor = 1.34). In addition, the effectiveness of the method was also tested through its application in various survey conditions. Overall, the proposed method outperforms the two existing methods. It is also very effective in reducing the error value during high tide conditions by up to 70%. The height of the UAV does not significantly affect the accuracy of the correction model, so in this case it is recommended to use an altitude of 100 m for survey efficiency.
