Abstract

Population Abundance and Level of Leaf Flea Attack (Mysuz perscae SULZER) (Homoptera: Aphididae) on Red Chili (Capsicum annuum L.) Red Chili is one of the mainstay commodities in Bali Province which become the source of income of farmers and foreign exchange of state in agriculture sector of this plant lot cultivated in indonesian both in lowland and in plateau, one of goal in cultivation business is pest aphid (Myzus persicae Sulzer). This research was conducted to find out the invasion pattern, population abundance, percentage of attack and population relation with production. The study was conducted from December 2016 to February 2017, the study was conducted in the Sedang Village( 120 m dpl), Kerta Village (573 m dpl), Sukawati Village (90 m dpl) and Keramas Village (81 m dpl) of the Bali Provinces. The results showed that for aphid invasion had started while colonization had started at week 3 after planting. The lowest population abundance of M. persicae is found in Keramas village and the highest is found in Sukawati. As for the lowest percentage of attacks occurred in the village of Keramas and highest in Sukawati Village. So production has a negative relationship with the population of M. persicae with M.persicae populations, the higher the M. persicae population the lower the chili production.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Population Abundance and Rice Stem Borer Attack on Rice in Tabanan Regency Tabanan Regency is rice production center in Bali Province. In terms of rice production in 2009 Tabanan Regency can produce 242.000 tons of grain per year, still rice production in the field has many obstacles, one of which is the rice stem borer can attack plants in the vegetative phase and the generative phase. It is necessary for the proper control measures, through an ecological approach and monitoring system to control rice stem borer in the field. The pattern of population growth which include diversity and population dynamics of the rice stem borer in the field, it is helpful for decision-making in determining control strategies appropriate to the circumstances on the ground pests. Found four species of rice stem winches in Tabanan Regency. The fourth species is Scirpophaga incertulas Walker, Sesamia inferens Walker, Chilo suppressalis Walker, and Chilo polychrysus Meyrick. S. incertulas is the dominant species found at each altitude. Rice stem borer species diversity is low <1.5, The value of the index of similarity between the study site reached a value of 86 % and 100 % . The structure of the rice stem borer populations between egg , larva , pupa and imago fluctuate every stage of plant development and reached its peak at the age of  rice 2 Weeks after planting egg stage , 4 Weeks after planting on larval and imago , 5 Weeks after planting at the pupa stage. The highest population abundance indicated S. incertulas at an altitude <250 (0-250) masl (meters above sea level), with the highest attack percentage at a height <250 (0-250) masl.   Keywords: Rice stem borer, species diversity, abundance, percentage.

Abstract

The Fruit Flies Species (Bactrocera spp.) attacking Citrus Orchard in Gianyar and Bangli Regency of Bali Field research on species composition and attacks of fruit flies was done on citrus orchard located in Gianyar and Bangli Regency of Bali from May up to August 2016. The research aimed to identify and analyze of species composition and attacks of fruit flies attacking the fruit in the field. The research using survey method by collecting of attacked-fruits, purposively on citrus orchard in the field. Adults of fruit flies were identified by identification key of Drew and Hancock (1994). The results indicated that there were two species found on the citrus orchard namely Bactrocera carambolae and Bactrocera papayae The composition of both species were 61 % for B. carambolae and 39 % for B. papayae. B. carambolae was dominant at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level (61.29 % ; 19 adults), 1100 meters above sea level (62.22 % ; 84 adults) and 1200 meters above sea level (68.67%; 57 adults), while B. papayae was dominant at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level (59.32 % ; 35 adults). B. carambolae was also dominant on the variety of Siam, Keprok Selayar and Keprok Batu 55. The affecting factors on the population abundance of fruit fly were affected by the length of cultivation and the number of citrus plant population in each elevation. The average number of adults emerged from an orange fruit was 3 adults while the highest appearance was 11 adults. The highest percentage of fruit flies attacked was at the five months and two week ages of the fruit as much as 7.18 %.

Abstract

Efficacy of 18 g / l Abamectin Insecticide Against Species Diversity, Population Abundance of leafhoppers and Harvesting on Paddy Paddy Crops (Oryza sativa L.) This research was carried out in Buwit Village, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency, starting in September to November 2017. The research objective was to determine the effect of Abamectin insecticide 18 g/l on species diversity, population abundance and yield. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with 5 replications and 5 treatments (control, 0.50g / l; 1.00g / l; 1.50g / l; 2.00g / l). The results showed that leaf leafhopper species diversity was low, as evidenced by the Shanon diversity index value was <1.5. The low value of species diversity index is caused by the low number of species in each treatment. Relatively higher variation in control compared to treatment. Abundance The highest population of nymphs and leaf leafhoppers was seen at 49 days after planting as much as 8.57. Components of harvest also show a significant difference between control and treatment.

Abstract

Field experiment to determine the effectiveness of demihipo and Decamon® to induce the egg extrusion and reduce L. huidobrensis population larvae on potato was conducted in Pancasari, Buleleng (Bali) from February to August 1999. The results indicated that application of Decamon to the plant was significantly able to increase egg-extrusion of L. huidobrensis from the leaf compared with the other treatments. While, weekly application of insecticide (demihipo) was also significantly able to reduce the Larvae population on the plant. The application of the combination of both control measure (plant growth regulator or PGR) and insecticide (demihipo) was the most effective control to reduce the feeding or ovipositional-punctures of adult on the leaves. Therefore, the application of PGR and insecticide was the best to prevent and reduce the population development of L. huidobrensis in the field. In general, all control measures were able to increase the yield and advantage-added of the farmer. However, the highest increased of the yield and advantage-added in wet season were given by the plant treated with PGR (Decamon®), while in dry season given by the plant treated with the combination of PGR and demihipo.
