Abstract

Introduction: The number of new HIV case is increasing significantly in Indonesia as compared toother countries in South East Asia region. Unsafe sexual behaviors become the critical risk factors for HIV transmission and adolescent is one of the high-risk group of risky sexual behavior and using drug injection. However, few studies have been conducted to find out the effective intervention to reduce the risk of HIV transmission among adolescents in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of SASH program (Skills for adolescents with healthy sexuality in reducing the risk of HIV transmission among adolescents in Bandung. Methods: A quasi-experimental design was conducted at one of private high school in Bandung. The sample in this study were thirty students. Every participant completed a self-measure questionnaire of the Bahasa version, which consists of HIV-related knowledge, attitude, and behavior with 52 items. The analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis using a paired t-test. Results: Majority of them were female (76.7). We found that SAHS program significantly effective on increased the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of HIV transmission among adolescents  (p< 0.005) with mean different between pre-and post-test was 3.2, 2.19, and 1.98, respectively. Conclusions: SASH program is effective to improve knowledge, attitude, and behaviors towards HIV prevention among adolescents. Future researches are needed to improve the sustainability of the program, such as through the development of integrated peer-educator and to use technology as the delivery and promotion media.Key Words: Adolescents, HIV, Prevention, Sexual Behavior.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews the effectiveness of Prone Positioning on the oxygenation status of COVID-19 patients from the existing literature. The research method uses a systematic literature review and meta-analysis obtained from the google scholar database. Proquest, Pubmed, Science Direct, and Semantic Scholar. The results showed that based on oxygenation parameters, Prone Positioning had an effect on changes in the ROX index value (Mean Difference 3.89, 95% CI 0.08 to 7.70, P = 0.05), P/F Ratio (Mean Difference 17.88, 95% CI 5.44 to 30.33 , P=0.05), SPO2 (Mean Difference 1.98, 95% CI 1.29 to 2.68, P<0.00001), and S/F Ratio (Mean Difference 23.04, 95% CI 15.89 to 30.19, P <0.00001), while the respiratory rate parameters (Mean Difference -0.79, 95% CI -1.76 to -0.18, P=0.11) and PaO2 (Mean Difference 7.75, 95% CI -22.80 to -38.31, P= 0.62) did not show a significant difference. In conclusion, Prone Positioning is considered to significantly affect changes in the oxygenation of COVID-19 patients. It is expected to be a reference in implementing nursing interventions for oxygenation disorders in patients. Keywords: COVID-19, Oxygenation, Positioning, Prone

Abstract

A novel coronavirus outbreak (2019-nCoV) caused all universities to work online and all students study from home to control the transmission of 2019-nCoV. This study investigated self-directed online learning among university student during the corona virus-2019 pandemic in Indonesia. A web-based survey was conducted to collect data using the Self-Directed Learning Instrument (SDLI). A total of 793 respondent (response rate: 98.5%) joined in this study. Over 70% of students experienced difficulty using a learning management systems. The mean total of self-directed learning was significantly higher in nursing students than non-nursing students (78.75±9.66 vs. 77.35±8.06, p-value=0.008, respectively). Both groups showed the highest percentage of perception of successes and failures inspire me to continue learning (90%) and having strong hope to constantly improve and excel in their learning (86%).  It’s very important for the university to develop a better e-learning system and design intervention to improve students’ self-directed learning.
