Abstract

This research aims to explore families' experiences as caregivers regarding how to care for stroke patients at home and to design a concept assessment model for caregivers in caring for patients at home. The method used is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The results of the study on the experiences of 16 family members as caregivers were summarized into four research themes, namely: control of risk factors that cause stroke by caregivers, changes in behavior and emotions of stroke patients and caregiver responses, strategies to improve self-care for stroke patients at home by caregivers, and strategies to increase muscle strength. The patient is at home with a caregiver. The draft instrument for the Cageur Stroke Score assessment is still a draft concept that needs to be developed in subsequent research. The images are risk factors for stroke, control of risk factors for stroke, amok, caregiver response, personal hygiene, skin integrity, and muscle strength. In conclusion, the family's experience as caregivers regarding how to care for stroke patients at home is the result of observing what nurses do while the patient is in hospital, and they are not ready to continue post-stroke care at home. The conceptual design of the assessment model for caregivers in caring for patients at home will be developed from research concept themes. Abstract

This study aims to find meaning from the experience of chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis regarding their diet and fluid regimen so that a design for education is formed. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. The results of the study identified seven themes, namely; 1) Changes in the patient's physiological condition; 2) Expression of feelings about changes in health conditions; 3) Needs for support; 4) Changes in fulfilling dietary needs; 5) Changes in fulfilling fluid needs; 6) Needs to obtain information about treatment; 7) Barriers in following diet and fluids. In conclusion, this study recommends that patients increase their knowledge and information regarding adherence to diet and fluids. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of wellness coaching with the smiling model on adherence to fluid intake restrictions and kidney function in CRF patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Hemodialysis Installation at Puri Asih Karawang General Hospital. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a pre-test and post-test design with a control group design. The results showed that before the intervention, the abnormal kidney function (urea) group had a higher pre-test, namely 20 respondents (87%), and in the urea control group, there were 18 respondents (78.3%). The creatinine values for the intervention group and the control group were almost comparable to typical values, namely, 17 respondents (73.9) in the intervention group and 18 respondents (82.6%) in the control group. As for after the intervention, it can be seen that after the intervention in the intervention group, most of the kidney function of urea was higher, namely 18 respondents (78.3%), and in the urea control group, there were 13 respondents (56.5%). The creatinine value for the intervention and control groups was dominated by average values, namely 16 respondents (69.6%) and 19 respondents (82.6%). In conclusion, there is an effect of wellness coaching on compliance with fluid intake restrictions and no impact on kidney function. Still, there is no difference in adherence and kidney function between the intervention and control groups. Keywords: Coaching Wellness, Kidney Function, Compliance, Smile Model

Abstract

This study systematically reviews the effectiveness of Prone Positioning on the oxygenation status of COVID-19 patients from the existing literature. The research method uses a systematic literature review and meta-analysis obtained from the google scholar database. Proquest, Pubmed, Science Direct, and Semantic Scholar. The results showed that based on oxygenation parameters, Prone Positioning had an effect on changes in the ROX index value (Mean Difference 3.89, 95% CI 0.08 to 7.70, P = 0.05), P/F Ratio (Mean Difference 17.88, 95% CI 5.44 to 30.33 , P=0.05), SPO2 (Mean Difference 1.98, 95% CI 1.29 to 2.68, P<0.00001), and S/F Ratio (Mean Difference 23.04, 95% CI 15.89 to 30.19, P <0.00001), while the respiratory rate parameters (Mean Difference -0.79, 95% CI -1.76 to -0.18, P=0.11) and PaO2 (Mean Difference 7.75, 95% CI -22.80 to -38.31, P= 0.62) did not show a significant difference. In conclusion, Prone Positioning is considered to significantly affect changes in the oxygenation of COVID-19 patients. It is expected to be a reference in implementing nursing interventions for oxygenation disorders in patients. Keywords: COVID-19, Oxygenation, Positioning, Prone

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of pharmacological therapy with pharmacological therapy accompanied by spiritual mindfulness based on breathing exercises on anxiety levels and blood glucose levels in type 2 DM patients. This study is a quasi-experimental study using a pretest-posttest design with a control group design. The results showed that there were differences in the level of anxiety of patients in the control group and the experimental group with a P-Value of 0.035 <0.05, and there were differences in the blood sugar levels of patients in the control group and the experimental group with a P-Value of 0.002 <0.05. In conclusion, pharmacological therapy interventions accompanied by spiritual mindfulness based on breathing exercises were proven effective in reducing anxiety and blood sugar levels in type 2 DM patients.
