Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik pertumbuhan vegetatif, kandungan sterol dan klorofil dari beberapa aksesi tanaman bangun-bangun. Penelitian dilaksanakan di rumah kasa Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan, dimulai Desember 2015 sampai  Februari 2016 menggunakan tanaman bangun-bangun asal Medan (Krakatau), Medan (Tuntungan), Sibolangit, Simalungun dan Brastagi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter-karakter morfologi pada aksesi tanaman asal Medan (Tuntungan), Sibolangit, Simalungun dan Brastagi tidak berbeda nyata, tetapi berbeda nyata dengan aksesi tanaman asal Medan (Krakatau) pada karakter warna batang dan warna permukaan daun bagian atas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakter morfologis dan hubungan kekerabatan tanaman asam gelugur yang ada di beberapa Kabupaten Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Kabupaten Langkat dan Kabupaten Serdang Berdagai pada bulan Mei-September 2016 dengan metode survei menggunakan panduan deskriptor asam gelugur IPGRI. Teknik pengambilan sampel secara accidental sampling. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, panjang batang, lingkaran batang, permukaan batang, bentuk tajuk, warna daun muda, warna daun tua, ukuran daun (panjang dan lebar), bentuk daun, bentuk pangkal daun, bentuk ujung daun, tepi daun, tulang daun, ukuran bunga, kedudukan bunga, warna kelopak bunga, warna mahkota bunga, bentuk buah, jumlah segmen pada buah, diameter buah, berat buah, ukuran buah, ketebalan kulit buah, warna buah masak, panjang biji, lebar biji, jumlah biji per buah, bentuk biji, warna biji. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di tiga Kabupaten Sumatera Utara terdapat 21 aksesi asam gelugur yang diidentifikasi. Hasil karakterisasi morfologis untuk bentuk tajuk (piramida dan  bulat panjang), permukaan batang (licin, kasar, sangat kasar), daun (jorong, memanjang, lanset), bunga (bunga betina dan bunga hermaprodit), buah (bulat, merata, bujur telur).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola pita DNA pada klon kelapa sawit PT.Socfindo berdasarkan marka Simple Sequence Repeats dengan menggunakan primer FR 0783, FR 0779,  FR 3663, dan FR 3745. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara dan Laboratorium Bio Molekuler SSPL (Socfindo Seed Production and Laboratories) Bangun Bandar, Dolok Masihul, Serdang Bedagai Sumatera Utara pada bulan Maret - Juni 2016.  Bahan tanaman yang digunakan pada penelitian berasal dari klon BTC 60 plasma nutfah PT.Socfindo. Individu yang diamati meliputi 30 aksesi klon kelapa sawit.  Perhitungan dan analisis deskriptif pada penelitian ini menggunakan software DARwin 6.0 dan Microsoft Excel 2007. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 4 primer SSR tersebut menghasilkan 9 pola pita DNA. Ukuran pita DNA yang dihasilkan bervariasi dan persentasi pita yang polimorfik juga bervariasi antara 0% dan 100% dimana FR 0779 pada 320 bp dan 243 bp serta FR 3663 pada 242 bp sedangkan primer polimorfis ditunjukkan oleh FR 0783 pada 335 bp, 272 bp, 351 bp dan 300 bp serta FR 3745 pada 317 bp dan 264 bp. Primer FR 3745 dapat menunjukkan perbedaan  pola pita DNA pada sampel No. 18 serta primer FR 0783 yaitu pada sampel No. 29.

Abstract

Inventory and identification of kana (Canna spp.) in Deli Serdang and Serdang Bedagai regency. Supervised by Ir. E. Harso Kardhinata, M.Sc., and Ir. Eva Sartini Bayu, MP., The purpose of the research is to inventory and identify of kana (Canna sp.) in Deli Serdang and Serdang Bedagai regency. The research was conducted in Deli Serdang and Serdang Bedagai regency from February to March 2017, The research was dessigned by descriptive methode and the samples were collected based on accidental sampling technique. Morfological characteristic of kana were identified based on Tanaka (2001). The result showed that there were 11 genotip of kana are genotip genotip A, genotip B, genotip C, genotip D, genotip E, genotip F, genotip G, genotip H, genotip I, genotip J, gnotip K, based on identified by Tanaka (2001) is that genotip A as C. flaccid, genotip B as C. ‘King Humbert’, genotip C as C. edulis, genotip D as C. pedunculata, genotip E as C. cleopatra, genotip F as C. glauca, genotip G as C. jacobiniflora, genotip H as C. ‘Bengal Tiger’, genotip I as C. liliiflora, genotip J as C. discolour, genotip K as C. indica.. Some specieses of kana grow wild and have not been cultivated by community except C. indica and C. edulis. Keywords : identification, inventory, kana, morphological characteristics

Abstract

The objective of the research was to know growth respons of Pak Coy varieties with applied NAA on floating hydroponics medium. This research was conducted at experimental fields on Compost Centre, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, from February-April 2017 with factor such as varieties (Green and Red) and applied NAA (0, 10, 20 ppm) using two way randomized design then analyzed using Duncan Multiple Range Test on 5%. The parameters observed were plants length, number of leaf, chlrorophyll values, stems diameters, roots length, fresh weight per sample,fresh weight per plot and fresh apical weight. The results showed that varieties was significantly different on number of leaf 3, 4, and 5 weeks after planted, chlrorophyll values on morning, noon and afternoon, stems diameters, fresh weight per sample,fresh weight per plot and fresh apical weight. Abstract

This research aims to identify morphological character and relation plant of acid gelugur (Garcinia atroviridis Griff. Ex T. Anders) that exist in Regency of Asahan and Regency of Batubara in North Sumatera. This research was conducted in Asahan and Batubara regency in February-April 2017 with survey method using IPGRI gelmatic descriptors guide. Sampling technique is accidental sampling. The results showed that in three regencies of Sumatera Utara there were 20 accessions of gelugur acid that identified Asahan Regency there were 9 accessions and there were 11 accessions of Batubara Regency. Result of morphological characterization for crown shape (pyramid, round, longitudinal and pattern-shaped), stem surface (slippery, coarse, very coarse), leaf (jorong, elongated, lanceolate), flower (female flowers and hermaphrodite flowers) , Evenly, longitude, longitude). The lowest dissimilarity value or the closest kinship relationship in Asahan and Batubara regency is 1,390 with 4 differences from 19 qualitative characters and the highest dissimilarity value or the furthest kinship relationship in Asahan and Batubara regency is 63,636 with 7 differences from 19 qualitative characters   Keywords : garcinia atroviridis, identification, kinship relationship, morphologycal characteristics

Abstract

The maize in indonesia mostly use land that is not fertile. The objective of the research was identified the selection character based on root morphology of hybrid maize (F1) in peat soil medium applicated with legume organic manure in rhizotron. The research was conducted at the greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara, from February until July 2017. The Randomized Block Design was used with two factors, the first factor is the population (V1, V2, V3, V4, V5) and the second factor is the planting medium (peat soil, peat soil + leucena, peat soil + mucuna). The parameters observed were: the number of root, the length of root, the diameter of root dispersed, the fresh weight of the canopy, the fresh weight of root and the dry weight of root. The result showed that the population F1 significantly affected the number of root, the volume of root, the fresh weight of root and the dry weight of root. The planting medium significantly affected the number of root, the length of root, the diameter of root dispersed, the volume of root, the fresh weight of the canopy, the fresh weight of root, the dry weight of root. Interaction between the population F1 NEI9008 x CLA46 (V5) and the planting medium peat soil + mucuna significantly affected the fresh weight of root.
