Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons pertumbuhan beberapa varietas sorgum pada tanah salin dengan pemberian giberelin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Lahan Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan pada bulan Juli sampai Oktober 2015, menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan dua faktor perlakuan yaitu varietas (Kawali, Numbu, Super 2) dan konsentrasi giberelin (0, 100 dan 200 ppm). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah daun, umur berbunga, kehijauan daun dan berat malai per sampel. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perlakuan varietas berbeda nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, umur berbunga, bobot malai per sampel. Perlakuan pemberian giberelin dan interaksinya tidak berbeda nyata.

Abstract

Performance of banana cultivars (Musa acuminata L. and Musa balbisiana L.) through in vitro propagation. Supervised by . Ir. Hot Setiado MSc and Ir. Revandy I.M Damanik Msi., Msc., PhD. The objective of the research was to determine the effect of the addition of growth regulator substances NAA and BAP on MS medium on the appearance of banana cultivar morphology and the number of shoots through multiplication in vitro. The research was conducted at  Tissue Culture Laboratory. Horticultural Seeds Centre, Medan, North Sumatera, Indonesia, from July 2017 to August 2017. The completely randomized design was used  with two factors : the first factor was cultivar (K1: banana barangan; K2: banana kepok) and the second factor was the medium (M0: control; M1: MS + NAA 0.4 ppm + BAP 2 ppm; M2: MS + NAA 0.8 ppm + BAP 5 ppm). The results showed that the cultivar and medium significantly affected the number of roots and plant height. The cultivar and medium showed the highest number of roots and the highest plant height (K1M0).

Abstract

The objective of this research is to get the best progeny based on potential of latex yieldcharacteristic, timber yield characteristic and latex-timber yield resulted from 2006 hand pollinationThe research wasconducted in ± 54 m above sea level at Balai Penelitian Sungei Putih PusatPenelitian Karet Galang Deli Serdang Sumatera Utara Medan from February2014 - July 2014. Theresearch is done by measuring coefisien varians, correlation, regression, path analysis, 10 % and 1% selection intensity, and two line pattern.The research showed based on selection latex yield are 115/06 and 136/06 (intensity 10% and 1%),based on selection timber yield with intensity 10 %  are 100/06, 4/06, 25/06, 41/06, 150/06, 29/06and intensity 1 % is 100/06, progeny 136/06 and 29/06 are potential progenies as latex and timberyield for cross 2006 with girth and diameter of latex vessels had directeffect for latex yield andcomponent girth and height of primary branches had direct  effect for timberyield. Abstract

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaan fenotipe berdasarkan karakter agronomi dan pewarisan maternal dari tetua betina pada persilangan resiprokal generasi F2 beberapa varietas kedelai. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan percobaan Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara Medan, dimulai Juni 2015 sampai September 2015 menggunakan hasil persilangan kombinasi antara varietas V1 : Anjasmoro, V2 : Detam II, V3 : Grobogan sebagai tetua dengan empat kombinasi persilangan G1 : Anjasmoro x Detam II, G2 : Detam II x Anjasmoro, G3 : Detam II x Grobogan, G4 : Grobogan x Detam II dengan uji t. Data dianalisis dengan Uji Sebaran Normalitas dan Heritabilitas. Parameter diamati adalah umur berbunga, tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang primer, umur panen, jumlah polong berbiji 1, jumlah polong berbiji 2, jumlah polong berbiji 3, jumlah polong berisi per tanaman, jumlah polong hampa per tanaman, jumlah biji polong berbiji 1, jumlah biji polong berbiji 2, jumlah biji polong berbiji 3, jumlah biji per tanaman, bobot biji per tanaman dan bobot 100 biji. Hasil uji t F2 dan tetua betina menunjukkan genotipe persilangan G1, G2, G3, dan G4 berbeda nyata terhadap jumlah cabang primer, umur panen, jumlah polong berbiji 1, jumlah polong berbiji 3, jumlah polong berisi per tanaman, jumlah biji polong berisi 1, jumlah biji polong berisi 3, jumlah biji per tanaman, dan bobot biji per tanaman.. Uji t F1 dan F2 menunjukkan berbeda nyata terhadap umur berbunga, jumlah cabang primer, umur panen, jumlah polong berbiji 2, jumlah polong berbiji 3, jumlah polong berisi per tanaman, jumlah biji polong berisi 2, jumlah biji polong berisi 3, jumlah biji per tanaman, bobot biji per tanaman, dan bobot 100 biji. Sebaran frekuensi karakter agronomis menunjukkan kurva tidak berdistribusi normal karena segregasi tertinggi terjadi pada F2.

Abstract

The research was conducted at experimental field of Tanjung Jati estate Binjai PTPN II (± 50 m asl) in August 2014 - January 2015 using a randomized block design with two factors, the first factor was plant spacing (33 cm, 40 cm, 47 cm) with center to center distance (CCD) was 135 cm and the second factor was dose of nitrogen fertilizer (45, 90, 135, 180 kg N / ha). The observation variables measured were plant height, stem diameter, number of leave, number of tilles, number of segment, leaf area, shoot dry weight, root dry weight.The results showed that the treatment plant spacing gave significant effec to  stem diameter, the number of tiller, number of segments, and leaf area. the treatment of dose of nitrogen fertilizer gave significant effect to the stem diameter, number of tiller and leaf area. Interaction treatment only significantly effected for steam diameter 1  MAP and the number of section 5 MAP. The research shows that the best plant spacing was 47 cm x 135 cm and dose of nitrogen fertilizer was 90 kgN/ha increase growth bud chip sugarcane.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan beberapa varietas kedelai pada keadaan tergenang terhadap pemberian GA3. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Rumah Kaca Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, pada bulan Juli - Desember 2015 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan tiga faktor perlakuan yaitu varietas (Grobogan, Willis dan Gepak Kuning), genangan (kontrol dan tergenang), dan konsentrasi GA3 (0 ppm dan 150 ppm). Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, persentase daun menguning, dan analisis enzim peroksidase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 2 - 5 MST, jumlah daun 3 - 5 MST, dan persentase daun menguning. Perlakuan GA3 berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 3 - 5 MST, dan jumlah daun 5 MST. Interaksi varietas dan GA3 berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 3 MST. Interaksi antara varietas, genangan dan GA3 berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun 5 MST. Hasil analisis enzim peroksidase menunjukkan bahwa Willis mampu beradaptasi pada keadaan tergenang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keragaman genetik DNA kelapa dengan menggunakan primer spesifik untuk beta karoten. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara dan Laboratorium Bio Molekuler SSPL (Socfindo Seed Production and Laboratories) Bangun Bandar, Dolok Masihul, Serdang Bedagai-Sumatera Utara, dimulai dari bulan Februari hingga Agustus 2016. Sebanyak 38 sampel stok DNA dari tanaman kelapa sawit yang dikeluarkan oleh PT. Socfin Indonesia diidentifikasi menggunakan marka molekuler primer spesifik Beta untuk karakter beta karoten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan analisis filogenik dendogram menggunakan DARwin 6.0.13 membagi 38 sampel menjadi tiga kelompok utama.

Abstract

The aims of the research was to determine the growth response and to identify the potential embriogenic callus of the hypoxia condition tolerant of soybean varieties in vitro. The research was conducted at the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory and the Laboratory of Food Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, North Sumatera University, Medan, Indonesia, from March 2016 to September 2016. The result were analyzed with t-test with the combination between soybean varieties (Baluran, Gepak kuning, Willis) and the plant growth regulators (2,4-D, NAA, IAA) 10 mg/l. The parameters observed were: the percentage of plants forming callus, the callus colour, the callus texture, the callus histological, the fresh weight of callus, the total chlorophyll content, the protein concentration, the SOD activity and the POD activity. The result showed that the combination between varieties Gepak Kuning and Willlis with 10 mg/l 2,4-D significantly affected the growth of embriogenic callus, the fresh weight of callus, the total chlorophyll content, the protein concentration, the SOD and POD activities.

Abstract

The ojective of the research was to determine the effect of plant growth regulators on the activity of enzyme superoxide dismutase and the physiology of partially Tapping Panel Drynessin (TPD) the clones quick starter (PB260) and a slow starter (RRIM 921) of rubber plant. This research was conducted at the Research Estate and Laboratory of Physiological Research Center, Rubber Research Centre, Sungei Putih, Galang, Deli Serdang - North Sumatra, from March until June 2016. The completely randomized design was used with three factors: the first factor was the clones of rubber plants (PB260 and RRIM 921), the second factor was the plant condition (Healthy and TPD or conditions), and the third factor was the formula. The Parameters observed were superoxide dismutase (SOD), Thiol, Sucrose, and Inorganic Phosphate. The result showed that the clone of rubber plants was significantly affected the thiol’s, sucrose’s and inorganic phospate in rubber. condition plant and  the formula significantly affected the sucrose’s. Interaction between clone and formula significantly affected the sucrose’s. The Interaction between clone, plant variety, and formula significantly affected the sucrose’s and the enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD).
