Abstract

Abstract; Institutional repositories development has drawn the attention of many scholars throughout the world. Using the keywords ‘institutional repositories’, there are over 300 peer-reviewed articles related on the topic has been indexed in Library, Information Science, & Technology Abstracts (LISTA) and SCOPUS. There are also hundreds of theses, dissertations, and websites dedicated on this blooming trends. These are proofs that the importance of IR in higher education has been acknowledged by many professionals in the field. This paper aims at clarifying the role of repositories in strengthening scholarly communication in higher education and research institution and explaining some basic repositories concepts (types of repositories and their characteristics), as well as exploring its relations with open access movement, the development ideas, and resources that could be kept in repositories and deposit policies.Abstrak; Pengembangan institutional repositories telah banyak menyita perhatian dari kalangan ilmiah di seluruh dunia. Melalui kata kunci ‘institutional repositories’, ada lebih dari 300 artikel terulas mitra bestari yang berhubungan dengan topik ini, yang telah terindeks di Library, Information Science, & Technology Abstracts (LISTA), dan SCOPUS. Terdapat juga ratusan tesis, disertasi, dan website yang mengulas trend ini. Inilah bukti bahwa pentingnya institutional repositories (IR) telah dipahami oleh para profesional di bidangnya. Tulisan ini akan menjelaskan aturan-aturan repository dalam memperkuat komunikasi ilmiah di perguruan tinggi dan lembaga riset, menjelaskan konsep-konsep dasar repositories, termasuk tipe-tipe repository dan karakteristiknya. Tulisan ini juga akan memperdalam konsep repositories dalam hubungannya dengan gerakan open access, pengembangan ide-ide, sumber-sumber ilmiah yang dapat disimpan di repositories, serta kebijakan penyimpanan di dalamnya.

Abstract

Artikel ini bersifat konseptual (conceptual paper) dan bertujuan untuk mempromosikan Open Educational Resources (OER) yang telah dikembangkan oleh berbagai perguruan tinggi dan organisasi dari seluruh dunia sebagai sumber pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Dengan promosi seperti ini, pihak-pihak yang terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi di Indonesia akan semakin familiar dengan OER sehingga pada gilirannya akan terdorong untuk mengadopsi atau menggunakannya. Sesuai dengan tujuan tulisan ini, maka pada bagian awal, tulisan ini membahas konsep dasar inisiatif OER, dan definisi OER. Pengertian kata “Open” dieksplorasi dan dielaborasi dari berbagai pandangan pakar OER. Di bagian selanjutnya, tulisan ini menguraikan kategorisasi dan jenis-jenis OER, terutama yang relevan dengan pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Jenis-jenis OER yang dibahas di sini meliputi individual OER, Open Textbook, Open CourseWare (OCW), dan Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). Di bagian akhir, tulisan ini mengulas berbagai manfaat pengadopsian atau penggunaan OER dalam kontek perguruan tinggi, baik dari sisi mahasiswa, dosen, maupun lembaga perguruan tinggi, berdasarkan hasil penelitian dari berbagai negara).

Abstract

This paper discusses the elements, sub-elements and some activity items covered in the Permen-pan 9/2014, accompanied by Regulation of the Head of National Library of Indonesia Number 11 of 2015 on technical guidance on librarian functional and its credit. This reading aims to identify the opportunities and challenges of the implementation of such a rule focusing on the academic li-braries. This study is focused on several items that are considered new and important to extending roles of college libraries in this digital era. The two items discussed are information literacy and pathfinder. Information literacy and scholarly communication are discussed in specific sub-chap-ters to show the breadth of information literacy within the context of today’s university libraries, the digital age.

Abstract

This article discusses information literacy curriculum (IL) in college. The concept of information literacy translated from researchers IL among others from the American Library Association, ACRL, CILIP, and SCONUL. IL standard model widely adopted by universities around the world, the Seven pillars of information literacy and Information literacy competency standards for higher education. Information literacy framework is a grand strategy for the implementation of the IL program at a university, institution or country. Libraries need to organize IL workshops and training IL that is both classical and also develop material IL that can be accessed online. To develop an IL model / standard appropriate to the Indonesian context, we can start from scratch or adopt the mode /standard that already exists.

Abstract

In order to formulate the vision, mission and objectives of repository development, the university's repository development team should comprehensively comprehend, among others: [1] the sense of institutional repository; [2] types of repositories other than institutional repository and their respective characteristics; [3] the relationship between scholarly communication, open access, and the idea of institutional repository development. The development of a repository is a new challenge and a very important role for college libraries. This role has been largely done by university libraries in developed countries. To embody this new role, the college library must provide some knowledge and technical skills related.

Abstract

This paper presents an explanation of the understanding, the scope of scholarly communication and its relationship with the publishing business related to serial crises, open access, and the potential extension of the role (extended role) of academic libraries. Currently the role of the library only focuses on user education programs (library instruction) which aims to disseminate the collection/resources library and its search strategy, especially those that are online or electronic. This role is only alluding with a small area of scholarly communication, namely discovery and dissemination. A wider role is information literacy programs, whose materials are packaged, expanded and aligned with the dynamics and scores of scholarly communication. This role is expected to spur engagement and contribution in developing a scholarly communication environment that is conducive to the development of science.

Abstract

Dalam karya atau publikasi ilmiah, plagiarism bukan hanya berbentuk kesamaan kata-kata atau kalimat, tetapi juga dapat mewujud dalam beragam situasi. Artikel ini menguraikan beragam bentuk plagiarism dalam karya atau publikasi ilmiah, yang terentang mulai dari tingkat yang paling ringan sampai tingkat yang paling parah (seriousness) dan mulai dari yang paling jarang terjadi sampai sering terjadi (commonness). Selanjutnya, artikel ini juga mengemukakan beberapa langkah strategis untuk yang perlu dilakukan dalam rangka upaya pencegahan plagiarism.
