This quasi-experimental study aims to determine the impact of realistic mathematics education (RME) on increasing Mathematical Problem-Solving Abilities (MPSA). The research design used was the non-equivalent control group with the subject population of all junior high school students in the city of Yogyakarta originating from low (C), moderate (B), and high (A) levels. From each school level, one school was taken then from each school taken an experimental class that received RME and one class of control who received regular learning (PB). The instrument used is in the form of two sets of equivalent MPSA tests. Data analysis uses the t-test and Anava. The results of the research were: (1) an increase in the MPSA of RME students was higher than the increase in the MPSA of PB students for all students and all levels of the school; (2) the highest increase in MPSA for RME students occurs at level A schools; and (3) there is no interaction between learning at school level in increasing MPSA.

One of skills which must be achieved by mathematics pre-service teachers is the basic skills of teaching mathematics. By having these skills, the pre-service teachers are expected to be able to become qualified teachers of the field they are going to have. However, there are still many mathematics pre-service teachers and mathematics teachers who haven’t achieved good basic skills of teaching mathematics. This was one of many factors that cause students’ low achievement in math. This study aims at solving the problem by developing learning materials with Search-Solve-Create-Share strategy to enhance the pre-service teachers’ basic skills of teaching mathematics. The research method used in this study is modified research and development method. In a nutshell, this study provides a significant contribution towards research in the mathematics education field particularly in producing suitable learning materials to enhance the pre-service teachers’ basic skills of teaching mathematics. The current era has arrived at the presence of a young generation called digital native so that interactive learning based on Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in mathematics is considered very suitable for this situation. This study aims to find out: 1) how is the development and use of ICT tools in interactive mathematics learning in the last decade?, and 2) what are the opinions of users of ICT tools in learning mathematics?. The method used in this research is a literature study method, by reviewing literature or scientific papers relevant to the research problem by using scientific sources. The results of this study are: 1) the development and use of ICT equipment in interactive mathematics learning within the last decade to the use of high technology including teachers using videos, general ICT software, and mathematics ICT software: Computer Algebra System, Dynamic Geometric Software, Dynamic Mathematics Software and Augmented Reality (AR) as part of Virtual Reality (VR); and 2) ICT users in learning (teachers and students), especially mathematical software, have a positive response in the use of ICT in learning.

Several facts about learning mathematics in high school, show that students' mathematical thinking skills are still low. Therefore, there needs to be an effort to increase these variables, considering that these variables are very important in supporting students' academic achievement. This study discusses the application of a comprehensive mathematics instruction (CMI) model in mathematics learning as an effort to improve students' mathematical thinking. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The sample was taken purposively from the population of high school students in Subang Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The instruments used in the research consisted of a mathematical thinking ability test and an observation sheet. Mathematical thinking ability is built by four important aspects, namely specializing, generalizing, conjecturing and convincing. The CMI model is a learning model that accommodates three stages, namely develop, solidify and practice. Each of these stages provides the opportunity for students to develop specializing, generalizing, conjecturing and convincing aspects. The results showed that the CMI model can improve students' mathematical thinking abilities. Thus, the CMI model deserves to be used as an innovation in mathematics learning.

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah menelaah perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional, serta sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. Kelompok eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan kelompok kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Untuk mendapatkan data hasil penelitian digunakan instrumen antara lain; tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan skala sikap siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sekolah Menengah Atas dengan level tinggi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 1 Rengat Propinsi Riau dengan responden penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas X sebanyak dua kelas yang dipilih secara acak kelas dari delapan yang ada. Dari hasil pengolahan data dengan menggunakan SPSS 16 uji normalitas dan uji beda dua rerata (uji-t') menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model kooperatif tipe Jigsaw secara signifikan dapat lebih meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa SMA dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is examining differences in mathematical problem-solving skills among students who get the Jigsaw cooperative learning and the types of students who received conventional teaching and students' attitudes toward cooperative learning Jigsaw type. The design study is a pretest-posttest control group design. The experimental group gained Jigsaw type of cooperative learning and conventional learning gain control group. To obtain research data used instruments among others; tests of mathematical problem solving ability and scale of attitudes. The research was carried out in high school with a high level. The population of this study were students of SMAN 1 Rengat Riau province with research respondents are students of class X as much as two randomly selected classes from eighth grade there. From the results of processing the data using SPSS 16 normality test and two different test mean (t-test ') indicates that there are differences in mathematical problem-solving skills enhancement students getting Jigsaw type of cooperative learning and students who received conventional learning. It can be concluded that the type of cooperative learning jigsaw model could significantly further enhance mathematical problem solving ability of high school students as compared to conventional learning.

A large class can be a problem source in learning Calculus. Peer-Assisted Reflection learning,as the solution, is a learning that combines peer analysis and self-reflection. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of Peer-Assisted Reflection learning based on Students’ opinions in Multivariable Calculus lecture. The research design used was pre-experimental with a one-shot case study design. The data obtained from questionnaire responses were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The result of this study shows that thePeer-Assisted Reflection learning help Students’s carry out activities: reflecting the result of their own work, commenting on the friend’s work, and increasing understanding of the material after revising their work. On contrary, the Peer-Assisted Reflection learning has not been able to carry out the following activities: determining concepts, understanding problems in a short time, understanding the work of colleagues, and finding doubts about the correctness of the answers.

Abstrak. Kemampuan pemahaman matematis dan kebiasaan berpikir (Habits of Mind) merupakankemampuan matematis yang harus dimiliki siswa dalam setiap pembelajaran matematika. Namun beberapa penelitian dan kenyataan di lapangan menggambarkan bahwa kemampuan ini masih belum dikuasai oleh siswa sepenuhnya. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah masih monotonnya guru dalam mengajar dan banyak guru yang belum menggunakan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan matematis ini.Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat dijadikan acuan bagi guru dalam mengajar adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Macth.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis dan kebiasaan berpikir (Habits of Mind) siswa SMP yang belajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Match dibandingkan siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan disain eksperimen disain kelompok kontrol tidak ekuivalen (the nonequivalent control group design). Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX SMPNegeri 1 Jambe di KabupatenTangerang Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas IXEsebagai kelas eksperimendan IXF sebagai kelas kontrol.Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman matematis dan angket kebiasaan berpikir.Pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan bantuan SPSS 16 dan Microsoft office Exceldengan uji statistik yaitu uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji perbedaan rata-rata.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis dan kebiasaan berpikir (Habits of Mind) siswa SMP yang belajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Make a Matchlebih baik daripada siswa yang belajar dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Abstract. Mathematical understanding ability and habits of mind are the abilities students should have in every mathematical teaching and learning. However, some research and facts in the field show that the abilitiy have not been fully mastered by students. Some of the causes are the monotonous teaching style of teachers and that many teachers have not used a learning model that can improve the mathematical ability. One of the instructional models that teachers can refer to is cooperative learning model of Make a Match type. The research aimed to find the improvement of mathematical understanding ability and habits of mind of junior secondary school students who used cooperative learning model of Make a Match type compared to those who used conventional learning. The research is quasi-experimental, employing the nonequivalent control group design. The population was the ninth graders of State Junior School 1 Jambe in Tangerang Regency of the 2013/2014 school year. The sample consisted of IXEstudentsas the experimental class and IXF students as the control class. The instruments used comprised of tests on mathematical understanding ability and questionnaires of habits of mind. The data were processed by the aid of SPSS 16 and Microsoft Office Excel. The research results demonstrated that: The improvement of mathematical understanding ability and habits of mind of the junior secondary school students who were treated with cooperative learning model of Make a Match type was better than the improvement of those treated with conventional learning model.

Abstrak: Kemampuan pemahaman dan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa PGSD tergolong rendah. Di antaranya disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemanfaatan konteks budaya dalam pembelajaran. Potensi budaya menjadi menarik untuk dijadikan sebagai masalah kontekstual dalam perkuliahan matematika karena budaya lebih dikenal, dilakukan dan terkait dengan kehidupan sehari-hari mahasiswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa PGSD melalui penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berbasis etnomatematisa (PKSBE). Penelitian ini melibatkan mahasiswa PGSD STKIP St. Paulus Ruteng semester II tahun akademik 2011/2012 yang terdiri dari dua kelas, satu kelas ekperimen dan satu kelas kontrol. Pemilihan kelas tersebut dilakukan secara acak kelas dari 10 kelas yang ada. Mahasiswa kelas eksperimen mendapat pendekatan PKSBE dan mahasiswa kelas kontrol mendapat pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD (PKS). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah wawancara tidak tertruktur, pretes dan postes, lembar observasi, dan angket respon mahasiswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif, uji-t dan uji Mann-Whitney U. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, kemampuan pemahaman dan komunikasi matematis mahasiswa yang mendapat pembelajaran menggunakan PKSBE memperoleh peningkatan yang secara signifikan lebih tinggi daripada mahasiswa yang menggunakan PKS. Peningkatan tersebut masuk dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil analisis terhadap data observasi dan respon mahasiswa menunjukkan bahwa PKSBE dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar mahasiswa dan menumbuhkan sikap positif mereka terhadap mata kuliah Konsep Dasar Matematisa dan terhadap dosen. Abstract: The conceptual understanding and mathematics communication of the primary teacher training students can be classified as in the low level. This phenomenon is highly affected by insufficient utility of culture perspective in teaching and learning process; however, cultural value becomes interesting issues in mathematics instruction because culture has been well-known, practiced, and been strongly associated to the students’ daily life. The aim of this study is to develop students’ understanding of competence and mathematical communication through the implementation of cooperative learning of STAD techniques on the ethnomathematic basis.There were two classes of primary teacher training college students at St. Paul college of education at second semester in the academic year 2011/2012 as the sample. One class was as the experiment group and another one class was as the control group using proportional random sampling from 10 classes. The experiment group was taught by using cooperative learning STAD techniques on the ethnomathematic basis, whereas control group was taught by using cooperative learning STAD techniques without ethnomathematic basis. Instruments used in this study were unstructured interview, test, observation sheet, and questionnaire. Qualitative data analysis were t-test and Mann-Whitney U test. Based on research result can be concluded that almost the students’ understanding of mathematics and mathematical communication of the experiment group was significantly higher than those of the control group. This significant development categorized as high level. Data analysis of observation sheet and questionnaire indicated that cooperative learning STAD technique on ethnomathemtic basis could develop students’ mathematics learning activities and their positive attitudes toward the course of basic concept of mathematics and toward their lecturer.

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dan menelaah peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan juga self confidence siswa SMP setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PMR secara Berkelompok. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol non ekuivalen. Kelompok eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan PMR secara Berkelompok dan kelompok kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Ngamprah. Adapun yang di jadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini di pilih sebanyak 2 kelas dari delapan kelas yang ada. Kedua kelas diberikan pretes, kemudian pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan PMR secara Berkelompok diberikan pada kelas eksperimen dan pembelajaran konvensional pada kelas kontrol serta postes. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui pemberian tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, angket self confidence dan pedoman observasi. Pengolahan data peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis menggunakan uji-t, data skala angket self confidence menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney, dan data hubungan antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan self confidence menggunakan korelasi Product Moment Pearson. Data self confidence ditransformasi dengan menggunakan MSI (Method of Successive Interval). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self confidence siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan PMR secara Berkelompok lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, serta terdapat hubungan yang signifikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self confidence siswa dalam matematika. Abstract: The purpose of this research is analyze of increase problem solving of mathematics and self confidence a pupil of secondary school which used realistic mathematics education. The kind of this research is quasi experiment with non equivalent control group design. Population of this research is all student at VIII level of SMPN 3 Ngamprah, and the sample is two class from eight class there. Both of class, given pretest, and than one class used realistic mathematics education in cooperative learning, once more used conventional teaching, and the last, both of class given posttest. Instrument of this research are test of problem solving, questionnaire of self confidence and observation instruction. Data processing of problem solving used t-test and self confidence used Mann-Whitney test, and correlation both of them used Product Moment Pearson. The result of this research is increase of problem solving of mathematics and self confidence pupil at experiment class is better than conventional class, and correlation of them are positive and sifnificant.

Desain penelitian ini adalah desain kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Kelompok eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan diskursif dan kelompok kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Cibadak. Adapun yang di jadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini di pilih sebanyak 2 kelas dari delapan kelas yang ada dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Untuk mendapatkan data hasil penelitian digunakan instrumen berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan skala self-concept berupa angket. Pengolahan data peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan skala angket self-concept menggunakan uji-t, data hubungan antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-concept siswa menggunakan korelasi Spearman. Data self-concept ditransformasi dengan menggunakan MSI (Method of Successive Interval). Berdasarkan analisis data, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan diskursif lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, peningkatan yang terjadi ada pada kategori sedang. Hasil skala self-concept menunjukkan bahwa self-concept siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan diskursif lebih baik daripada self-concept siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan, antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-concept siswa dengan kualifikasi sedang. Abstract: To the effect this research is subject to be describe and study learning influence with diskursif's approaching to mathematical problem solving ability and self concept Junior High School student. This research design is pretest-psttest control group design. Experiment group get learning with diskursif's approaching and conventional learning gaining control group.
