Abstract

Strawberry (Fragaria sp cv Holibert) is a non-climakteric fruit which have high value with high  consumer demand. Tropical environment conditions can deteriorate and decrease quality of their fruit. Objective of the research were to identify quality characteristics of fresh strawberry that storages in tropical environment with and without temperature controlled.Strawberry fruit were sampled from mountain area in Ketep, Magelang, Central Java. Several quality parameter were measured include physical parameter (fresh weight, weight loss, skin texture and color) and chemical parameter (water content, soluble solid content, vitamin C and titratable acidity). Then, fresh weight of strawberry were  compared with IQS 8026-2014 using control chart. Storage conditions were tropical condition without controlled temperature and controlled temperature at 4 oC and 10 oC. Result shown that chemical parameters of fresh strawberry were optimum at 4 oC storage condition for water content and soluble solid content. Physical parameter of fresh starwberry were better conditions at controlled environment. The standard quality  was confirmed with class 1 for weight averages >15-20 g/fruit for best fruit . Tropical conditions were deteriorate quality and shortage shelf life of the strawberry.

Abstract

This study was aimed to provide suggestions for improvement of the value stream, which was illustrated using Value Stream Mapping through the reduction of wastes. The measure of improvement was focused on the process cycle efficiency (PCE) of the Callaway Diablo golf glove production systems at Adi Satria Abadi limited company. At the initial condition of Value Stream Mapping, the identified wastes were inventories, delays, transports, and defects. Those four wastes were then mapped using Value Stream Analysis Tool (VALSAT). The process cycle efficiency (PCE) value of the initial condition was equal to 5.06 %. The improvement formulations for the proposed Value Stream Mapping were made by determining optimal crew size, work-cell design, Kanban design, and idea of autonomation. The improvement formulations of the proposed Value Stream Mapping could reduce work in process (inventories) of 57.81 %, delays amounting to 55.52 %, and transportations between work stations at 52.54 %. The company’s PCE increased by 12.06 %.

Abstract

Shallot is one of the food commodities that determine or influence the political policy inIndonesia. Shallot (Allium Ascalonicum L) is a horticultural commodity, the price of which oftenexperiences significant fluctuations in Yogyakarta Special Region. Shallot prices can increase ordecrease significantly in monthly or even weekly periode due to fluctuation of its availability. Theobjective of this research was to analyze the fluctuation of shallot availability in the specialregion of Yogyakarta. It was conducted through field survey and by collecting secondary data onshallot commodity in Special Region of Yogyakarta in 2017. To support data about shallotdeterioration rate during storing period, the research on how to store shallot was conducted in awarehouse owned by farmer group “Ngudi Makmur” in Samiran, Parangtritis Village, KretekDistrict, Bantul Regency. The results showed that the fluctuation of shallot availability inYogyakarta Special Region was caused by the decrease of shallot production in the mainproduction center of Bantul district which contributed about 70% from local production, thefluctuation of supply from the surrounding area that had the planting season and harvest seasonssimilar to those in Yogyakarta Special Region, the deterioration rate that was still high duringstoring period and the lack of significant role of BULOG in controlling the availability of shallotdue to limitations of its storage technology

Abstract

Purwobinangun Farmer Women's Group (KWT) is an association that accommodates the activities of women farmers in Purwobinangun, Pakem District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The Covid-19 pandemic caused KWT Purwobinangun's harder efforts to sell processed snake fruit products due to large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). The selling difficulties of their product in this situation have resulted in a decrease in income so that members of the association need to innovate their marketing activity to reach consumers easily. The objective of this study was to evaluate the online marketing of processed snake fruit by KWT Purwobinangun using Instagram. The application of Instagram in processed snake fruit marketing began with information gathering, observations, questionnaires distribution, e-mail accounts creation, Instagram accounts creation, as well as online marketing activities. The result showed that Instagram account @pasar_springmerapi as online marketing for KWT Purwobinangun took 4 months to be recognized by the public. KWT Purwobinangun member stated that online marketing using the @pasar_springmerapi (Instagram account) resulted in consumer convenience of various product types finding and product descriptions offered so that the marketing distribution is more effective. However, the activities of product ordering were considered inefficient due to KWT Purwobinangun did not have a centralized admin to organize various products order. Thus, to improve the marketing effort of processed snake fruit, it is necessary to do information updates continuously.

Abstract

Lestari Mulya (LM) Agro-Edutourism is one of the Agro-Edutourisms included in the Aerotropolis Area, which is a tourist area supporting Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulon Progo Regency. This Agro-Edutourism is a tourist destination designed for educational purposes for children who have received early childhood education and kindergarten students. The community services aim to support members of the Lestari Mulya Women Farmer Group as managers of the Agro-Edutourism to discover their potential, identify development alternatives and assist them to become a sustainable agroindustry. Rapid Rural Appraisal (RRA), Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) methods were used by the Universitas Gadjah Mada community services team to gather the information needed for further development planning. The results of the in-depth interviews showed that there is potential for the land and that some ideas can be developed to improve the quality of Agro-Edutourism products. The Lestari Mulya Women Farmers Group was able to use the FGD method to design a safer and more comfortable layout for the area. The community services team has developed a master plan proposal to apply for funding to improve infrastructure to support faster development of the Agro-Edutourism
