Abstract

Abstract.Snowball throwing is one of the cooperative learning methods. Snowball throwing is packed in the game with simple rules that are easy to apply in learning mathematics.This research is a classroom action research which is purposed to reduce errors in solving quadratic equations with cooperative learning type snowball throwing. The subject of the research is the students of X AP 3 grade SMK Negeri 1 Jember in the academic year 2012/2013. The data which is collected by using observation, interview, and test method. The results of the research showed an increasing in student activity, namely 74.67% in the first cycle and 80.63% in the second cycle. The total percentage of errors decreased, namely 70.18% in the preliminary test, 45.28% in the first cycle test, and 11.83% in second cycle test. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that cooperative learning type snowball throwing can increase the learning activity, reduce errors in solving quadratic equations, and decrease percentage of errors. Abstract

Abstract.The aimof this research is to develop an audio based math media.It will help blind stunentd to understand thecircumferenceandtriangle area concepts. The methodis obtained from modifyng Four D modeland data collecting proccessin this research usequestionnaires andobservation. The validation results done by computerexpert, education expert and math teacherof SMPLBclass VII-A shows that 87.91% of the criteria have been fullfiled the validityand no revision required. The next stepis implementation test forblind studentsof class VII. The media test results shows that 92.85% have been fulfilledthevalidity. It means that the media has a very valid category and no revision required. The development result ofaudio based math media is an executable software. The product of this research are 6 units audio based math media and the manual book. Key Words:development research, audio, blind students

Abstract

Abstract. Numbered Heads Together is a cooperative learning strategy that holds each student accountable for learning the material. The advantage of NHT (Numbered Heads Together) is that it has numbering system. Type of research was Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research subjects of was grade VII A students of SMP Negeri 1 Kedungjajang and material the chosen was one variabel linear inequality. The data collection methods used in this research were observation, interview, test, and documentation. In the first cycle, the completeness of the students learning classical outcomes was 73,33% . And the second cycle, the completeness of the students learning classical outcomes was 86,67%. The first cycle to the second cycle was 13,34%.   Key Words : NHT, Cooperative Learning. Abstract

Abstract.The objectives of this action research are to know how the implementation of learning Quick on the Draw, the students activities in learning process, and the student’s outcomes after using the implementationof learning Quick on the Draw of Social Arithmetic at VII grade material. This implementation was conducted in two cycles, and each cycle was ending with a test. This research using Hopkins scheme model that consist of 4 phases include planning, action, observation and reflection. The object of this research was students of class VII F of SMP Negeri 10 Jember. The data collection methods of this research were observation, interview, test and documentation. In Cycle I, the research shows that student’s activities were 85,55% and the students learning outcome were 82,85%. In Cycle II the student’s activities were 91,42% and the students learning outcome were 97,14%. It conclude that this research can improve the student’s learning outcome. Abstract

Abstract. Developing CTL approach of learning materials focused on learning community need to developt this time, due to the fact that students are not only abble to understand realisticly but also they should be able to work in a group. The purpose of the research is to discrible the process and result of develompent of CTL mathematics learning material focused on learning community for triangle topic seventh grade student of Junior High School. The development model refers to Plomp model, namely investigation, design, realisation, test, evaluation, revition, and implementation. The products of this research are lesson plan, worksheet, and evaluation test. Based on validation process and learning materials tryout, it can be concluded that the learning materials have fulfilled approprite with validaty, practicy, and effectivy criteria. Abstract

Abstract. The purposes of ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assesment, Satisfaction) learning model are improving motivation, achievement and result of student learning. Guided discovery method has characteristics to improve the student’s abstract minds. The research aims to know process and result of development of mathematics learning materials based on ARIAS learning model with guided discovery method at sub topic of circle at grade eight of Junior High School. Learning materials development model refers to 4D Thiagarajan models. The products of this research are lesson plan, student book, worksheet, and evaluation test. Based on validation process and tryout the learning materials can be concluded that the learning materials had been appropriate with validate, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Abstract.In recent years, it has published manybilingualmathematicstextbooksas the needsofschools withbilingualclasses. The qualityof bilingualmathematicstextbookscan be evaluated usingfourcriteriaaccording toBell. Book thatwere analyzedin this studytitledMathematicsForJuniorHighSchoolGradeVIII 1stSemester(Bilingual).The result of data analysis method shown the suitability ofthe mathematical content is very well withthe percentage of88.33%, the suitability ofthe teaching methods is enough withthe percentage of54,29%, the suitability ofthe physical characteristics is very well withthe percentage of 90,91%, and the suitability of teacher aids is enough withthe percentage 47,37% . Abstract

Abstract. PBI (Problem Based Instrustion) is a Learning Model that focused on the students mind set and activity in the learn process. The purpose of the study are to describe the process and result in the Development of Mathematics Learning Materials PBI nuanced of Pythagoras Theorem topic for Eight Grade Junior High School. The development model refers to 4D Thiagarajan models which has 4 steps are define, design, developt, and disseminate.The result of thisresearchare lesson plan, worksheet, student book, evaluation test. From the validationsource and the trial of the learning sets can be concluded that the learning sets had been appropriate with validate, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

The problem-solving profile is a general description of the activities of solving mathematical problems carried out by students using the five stages of IDEAL model problem solving namely identifying problems, defining problems, finding solutions, implementing strategies, and reviewing and evaluating their effects. This becomes interesting when it is associated with mathematical abilities. This study aims to describe the profile of students with high mathematical ability in solving questions about the subject of Social Arithmetic. This type of research is qualitative research. Students with high mathematical ability were given two problem-solving test questions, then interviews were conducted to find out more in the process of solving them. The results obtained are students with high mathematical ability able to meet all the indicators of each stage of solving the IDEAL model. This can be seen from the results of the work provided and interviews conducted by researchers against these students.
