Abstract

The research was moticated by the difficulty of students to solve mathematical problems, especially in the material derivative. Based on preliminary data obtained from research experience in teaching, students confusion in understanding the intent of the question whether the proposed teacher and from textbooks.  One alternative could be done to help students by rewriting the problem with his own words or write about in other forms. Hence the need for prospective teachers’ knowledge about the strategy. The purpose of this study to describe the profile of the submission of profpective teachers about students assessed based on mathematically ability. The resultsare expented to be utilized by the student teacher candidates to be applied in teaching and learning activities in schools. This study uses tests and interviews. Tests of the information given to prospective teachers and students the information is processed into a problem. Information given to the students of mathematics teacher candidat capable low as a research subject. Interviews were conducted to students of mathematics

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sulitnya siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah integral khusunya luas daerah. Banyak siswa hanya menyelesaikan masalah integral hanya berdasarkan rumus yang sudah disediakan. Siswa jarang mengaitkan konsep-konsep yang saling terkait, dalam hal ini konsep integral subpokokbahasan luas daerah.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan Profil antisipasi siswa SMA dalam memecahkan masalah integral. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dimanfaatkan oleh guru untuk membantu siswa mengaitkan konsep-konsep yang belum terkait.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode tes dan wawancara. Tes berupa  tes kemampuan matematika yang diberikan kepada siswa, sehingga diperoleh siswa berkemampuan tinggi dan wawancara diberikan kepada siswa yang bersangkutan untuk menggali dan melihat jaringan konsep yang dimiliki siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah integral. Subjek dalam penelitian ini termasuk dalam antisipasi terinternasilsasi dikarenakan siswa secara spontan menerapkan rumus integral tanpa menganalisis soal yang diberikan.This research is motivated by the difficulty of students in solving integral problems especially the area. Many students just completed the integral problems just based on a formula that has been provided. Students rarely associate the concepts are interrelated, in this case the integral concept of the area. The purpose of this study was to describe the profile anticipation of high school students in problem solving integrals. The results could be used by teachers to help students link the concepts are not related. This study uses tests and interviews. The tests such as math skills test given to students, in order to obtain a high ability students and interviews given to the student to explore and see the network concept of the students in problem solving integrals. Subjects in this study are included in anticipation terinternasilsasi because students spontaneously apply the integral formula without analyzing the questions that were given

Abstract

Kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah integral kemungkinan besar dikarenakan kesalahan siswa dalam memahami soal. Tidak sampai disana saja, kesalahan memahami soal dimungkinkan karena antisipasi yang dilakukan siswa salah. Jika ada siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi, maka sebaiknya guru memperhatikan antisipasi yang dilakukannya sehingga siswa lain dapat belajar dari antisipasi yang dilakukan siswa kemampuan tinggi itu. Tes yang dilakukan kepada siswa NV ini merupakan tes integral dan hasil yang diperoleh yaitu karakteristik dari antisipasi ekploratif NV. Karakteristik antisipasi eksploratif yaitu (1) membaca soal lebih dari satu kali, (2) menemukan hal yang ditanyakan dan hal yang diketahui, (3) menguraikan soal secara rinci, (4) menggabungkan kriteria-kriteria yang diketahui, dan (5) memecahkan soal dengan mempertimbangkan alternatif penyelesaian Kata Kunci:Antisipasi, antisipasi eksploratif, integral

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan indikator 4C’s yang selaras dengan kurikulum SMA/MA yang digunakan di Indonesia yaitu kurikulum 2013 pada mata pelajaran matematika SMA kelas X semester 1 yang terdiri dari 3 bab yaitu: sistem persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linier satu variabel yang memuat nilai mutlak, SPLTV, dan fungsi. Kegiatan penelitian dimulai dari analisis masalah kurikulum di Indonesia dan menganalisis literatur kemampuan 4C’s menurut Partnership 21th Century Learning (P21). Kegiatan selanjutnya adalah merancang Indikator 4C,s yang selaras dengan kurikulum 2013 pada mata pelajaran matematika SMA/MA kelas X semester 1. Produk yang dihasilkan yaitu Indikator 4C’s yang selaras dengan kurikulum 2013 disajikan dalam vorum diskusi (kolokium). Kemudian produk tersebut direvisi berdasarkan saran dari peserta kolokium. Kegiatan terakhir yaitu membagikan produk yang valid kepada peserta kolokium sebagai panduan penyusunan rencana pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menghasilkan indikator 4C’s yang selaras dengan kurikulum di Indonesia yaitu kurikulum 2013.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is the relationship between culture and mathematics found in society's habits, where people have unconsciously applied mathematical concepts in their culture or habits. The custom referred to in this study is what is done by batik in making one batik sheet every time. The purpose of this study was to describe ethnomathematics on cassava leaves in the production house Daweea Batik Bondowoso East Java. This research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The subject of this study was the craftsmen in the Daweea Bondowoso Batik production house. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The observation was carried out by the researcher himself and assisted by two observers who were provided with observation guidelines. Interviews were conducted to artisans in Daweea Bondowoso batik production house, while the documentation was carried out by the researcher himself using a camera recorder. The results of this study indicate the existence of ethnomathematics in cassava leaves batik painting. Geometry concepts or elements found include points, lines, angles, flat shapes (rectangles, squares), congruence, concordance, equations, and geometric transformations (dilation).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir geometri siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah luas permukaan limas dan prisma melalui tahapan Polya. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua siswa yang berada pada level deduksi informal di SMPN 3 Jember. Siswa diberikan tes tentang luas permukaan limas dan prisma, dilanjutkan dengan wawancara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses berpikir siswa mengalami kondisi disequilbrium dan equilbrium dengan melalui asimilasi dan akomodasi dalam setiap tahap pemecahan masalah luas permukaan limas dan prisma, serta siswa juga memenuhi indikator kemampuan berpikir geometri Van Hiele pada level deduksi informal. Siswa memahami kondisi dan fakta masalah, mengidentifikasi himpunan sifat-sifat bangun yang berbeda-beda untuk mengkarakterisasi kelas dan mengaitkan antar karakteristik pembentuk konsep, menentukan rumus yang tepat dalam pemecahan masalah, dan memecahkan masalah dengan menekankan pada pentingnya sifat gambar dan relasinya.

Abstract

AbstractEthnomatematics is the connection between mathematics and culture. This research aimss to describe the ethnomathematics of Batik Bondowoso. This study used qualitative research  with an ethnographic approach. The subjects are 3 craftsmen at Batik Kironggo house production. Data were collected by using observation, interview, and documentation. The result of this study indicates the existence of ethnomathematics at Bondowoso batik that is concepts or elements found, such as: points, lines, angles, 2D shapes (square, rhombus and circles), similarities and geometric transformations (translation, reflection, rotation and dilatation). Keywords: Batik of Bondowoso, Ethnomathematics; Geometry.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the high-level thinking. Mathematics learning in globalization era usually uses critical thinking in solving problems. Mathematics is always thought as the difficult one to be learnt. This research will describe students critical thinking profile in solving the function of compositions through collaborative learning. This reseach can be used as the reference for teachers to recognize students critical thinking profile in their class, and also it can be used to motivate students to enhance their critical thinking ability. The critical thinking criterias are focus, reason, inference, situation, and overview. That criterias include eleven indicators. The type of collaborative learning in this research is Learning Together (LT). This research is descriptive with qualitative approach. The data were collected by documentation, observation, test, and interview. The subjects of this research are six students who are two high-achiever students, two medium-achiever students, and two low-achiever students from one of senior high school at Jember. High-achiever students can achieve all criterias of critical thinking and they dominate the role in learning and teaching activity. The medium-achiever students only fulfill focus in the first and second indicator, reason in the second, and inference, situation, clarity, and overview in the second indicator and also can join in the collaborative learning. While, the low-achiever students can only look to other students without get engaged actively in collaborative learning and only achieve focus in the first and second indicators of situation.
