Abstract

In this digital era, it is essential for individuals to be literate and to be able to communicate effectively in English as the international language. Foreign language proficiency certainly requires training which the process itself cannot be achieved instantly. Since the beginning of college, students should begin to know and be trained to understand and utilize English. Therefore, it is crucial to employ English as a second language in the classroom so that students can meet the challenges of the globalization era in the future. This research aims to analyze the level of digital literacy and the distribution of students' English skills in the City of Banjarmasin in supporting the readiness of independent campuses to learn in the technology era 4.0. This research effort employs exploratory questionnaires as its methodological technique (exploratory research). The analysis was performed using simple regression. According to the finding of the research, it illustrates that the distribution of digital literacy levels and the distribution of students' English skills in Banjarmasin is almost evenly distributed. In this digital era, it is essential for individuals to be literate and to be able to communicate effectively in English as the international language. Abstract

Floating market is not only a place where many products from rural areas can be traded, but it also provides a one-of-a-kind view of life on the water in the form of many small boats. This community's well-known adherence to a particular exotic tradition has proven quite successful in drawing tourists not only from within but also from outside the country. The majority of people in the floating market speak English, despite the fact that many of the locals continue to communicate with one another in Banjar, which has, of course, some degree of impact on the creative economy actors there. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether or not there is an impact of travelers from other countries on the language patterns of creative economic actors. In this study, we make use of qualitative research methods. The descriptive method is used to carry out analysis. According to the findings of the research, it is common knowledge that fluency in multiple languages is an essential component of the persona of economically creative actors. This research was successful in revealing, among other things, that the manner of language demonstrated was capable of recognizing the behavior and personality of the speaker.

Abstract

This observational research focused on the teaching methods to investigate the techniques and strategies employed by the English instructors in their teaching-learning in the classroom. The present study analyzed the findings and figured out the useful model of instruction, which can cover both accuracy and fluency practices. A descriptive qualitative approach was the design of the research by utilizing observation and interviews as data collection methods. The observation was conducted to record the practice of teaching for ten meetings. During the observation, field notes and observation checklist were used to carefully collect all the data needed during the teaching and learning process. Eight English instructors at the course were invited for interviews so more comprehensive data related to their method and teaching strategies can be gathered. The findings of the research showed that ELITE English Course Banjarmasin applied the combination of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Presentation Practice Production (PPP) as a model of their instructions, so the students got opportunities to practice both accuracy and Fluency in the classroom. During the observation, field notes and observation checklist were used to carefully collect all the data needed during the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Plastic waste is a significant environmental challenge, but its management is still not fully effective. Common methods such as garbage disposal, combustion, and recycling have their limitations, especially the release of harmful compounds during low-temperature plastic burning. Therefore, research continues to look for better solutions. One promising approach is pyrolysis, a process in which plastic molecules break down at high temperatures in an inert gas environment. Pyrolysis produces solid, liquid, and gas products, with liquids potentially functioning as biofuels after further repairs. The study discussed the influence of temperature and time on the pyrolysis of HDPE and PET plastics. The results showed that temperature is a critical factor, with a limited reaction temperature between 500 °C and 700 °C. Results of the pyrolyse process include tar/liquid and char/ solid residues. Strangely, 3 kg HDPE produce the highest amount of tar, about 973 ml, while 3 kg PET produce the least, about 89 ml. Overall, achieving a uniform heat distribution and optimal temperature is crucial to improving the efficiency and quality of the pirolysis product.
