Abstract

Adherence to taking medication was so important to suppress HIV suppression. Maintaining compliance can be done using a peer support intervention approach. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of peer leader support on medication adherence of people living with HIV/AIDS. The research method used is one group pre-test post-test. The sample in this study was determined using a consecutive technique, with a total sample of 25 respondents. The Antiretroviral Adherence Scale was used to measure the adherence level. The peer leader support treatment procedure was based on empowerment, self-management, experience exploration, motivation, and problem-solving in a systematic way and administered for 14 weeks. The data analysis used paired t-test. The results showed that there was an increase in the average value of adherence before being given the intervention (3.04) and after being given the intervention (4.40). The bivariate analysis result obtained p-value < 0.000 (α = 0.05). Based on the value of p<α, the peer leader support was affected adherence to taking medication in PLWHA. It is necessary to conduct a peer intervention model to explore changes in viral load and CD4 cell values associated with ARV adherence

Pekerjaan partisipan sebagian besar ibu rumah tangga (40%). Abstract: People with HIV and AIDS have complex health problems, such as decreased psychological resources. Social support is needed to maintain good psychological resources. Social support can conduct through peer support group training. The purpose of this community service is to empower the community through peer support groups to increase psychological resources. The result of this community service implementation is that the average age of the participants is 41.24 years, and most of them are 60% female. The education level of the participants has dominated by SMA/SMK (44%). Most of the participant's occupations are housewives (40%). After health education, the knowledge level of participants has dominated by a good level of knowledge (64%). The evaluation of participants' psychological resources was moderate (68%). The conclusion was the implementation of community empowerment through peer support groups has a positive effect on the psychological resources of people living with HIV and AIDS. The formation of peer support group members is supposed to be heterogeneous, so they gain more varied experiences of living with HIV.

Abstract

Introduction: Gout arthritis is a condition where there is an increase in uric acid levels in the blood, leading to various effects, one of which is pain. Managing pain in gout arthritis patients can be addressed through complementary therapy, one of which is acupressure on the KI 3 point. This study aims to determine the effect of acupressure on the KI 3 point on pain scale in gout arthritis patients at UPTD Puskesmas I Health Office of Denpasar Selatan Subdistrict. Method: The study was conducted using a pre-test and post-test one-group design from February to March 2025, with a sample size of 20 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Pre-test and post-test data were collected using a numerical rating scale. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test with p<0.05. Results: The results showed that the pain scale before acupuncture at point KI 3 had a median pain score of 5, and there was a change in the pain scale after acupuncture at point KI 3, with a median of 3. The analysis results indicate an effect of acupressure at the KI 3 point on the pain scale of gout arthritis patients at the UPTD Puskesmas I Health Center in Denpasar Selatan District, with a p-value <0.001. The recommendations from this study are expected to serve as input for nurses to always provide acupressure as a supportive therapy for gout arthritis patients to alleviate acute pain. Conclusion: It can be said that there was an effect of acupressure at the KI 3 point on the pain scale of gout arthritis patients at the UPTD Puskesmas I of the South Denpasar District Health Office with a value of p=0.001.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Pasien hemodialisis sering mengalami ketidaknyamanan multidimensi selama prosedur yang berlangsung 3–5 jam. Intervensi non-farmakologis berbasis teknologi seperti relaxation-based immersive virtual reality (RIVR) menawarkan solusi inovatif untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan. Background: Patients undergoing hemodialysis frequently experience multidimensional discomfort during prolonged 3–5-hour sessions. Technology-based non-pharmacological interventions such as relaxation-based immersive virtual reality (RIVR) offer a promising approach to enhance patient comfort. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of RIVR on physical, psychospiritual, sociocultural, and environmental comfort among hemodialysis patients at Tabanan General Hospital, Bali. Methods: A quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test control group design was employed with 42 patients randomly assigned to an intervention group (n = 21; 10-minute nature-based RIVR) or a control group (n = 21; standard care with a relaxation leaflet). Comfort was measured using the validated Indonesian Shortened General Comfort Questionnaire (SGCQ) and analyzed using Wilcoxon signed-rank and Mann–Whitney U tests (α = 0.05). Results: The RIVR group showed a significant improvement in total comfort scores (Z = −5.0, p < 0.001), particularly in physical (p < 0.001), psychospiritual (p < 0.001), and environmental domains (p = 0.003). No significant change was observed in sociocultural comfort (p = 0.64). Conclusion: RIVR is an effective, non-invasive intervention to enhance multidimensional comfort in hemodialysis patients and should be integrated into holistic nephrology care protocols.
