Abstract

In natural resources management, a strategy is significant important, especially in lake management. The management strategy should be analyzed prior in regard to conservation aspect before it is implemented. Nowadays, Tondano Lake needs a great concern for its sustainable water resources and it needs actions in a management context. Aspects should be focused in the strategic management are water uses, biodiversity, run-off pollution, and water surface level. All aspects should be analyzed in order to establish a strategic management plan for Tondano Lake.

Abstract

Environmental issues is a very complex problem that must be overcome, one of them is, water pollution, air, social conflict, and many other things that happened in Jakarta, it takes a conscious effort from the community, and students who cared to be able to help solve the problem. This study aims to: (i) to determine the extent to which knowledge, attitudes and environmental science student concern for the environment in Jakarta; (ii) to test / analyze whether there is a relationship between gender, age of the knowledge, attitudes and awareness of environmental science students environment in Jakarta. From the research results obtained that knowledge, attitudes and environmental science student concern for the environment in Jakarta, as follows: (i) the majority of respondents or 50% -58% of respondents have a good score on knowledge about the environment; (ii) there 53% -65% of the respondents realized that his wrong in maintaining environmental quality in Jakarta; (iii) environmental awareness is still low, is evident from respondents' answers caring instruments, where the answer is rarely involved (JT) is the best answer a lot of responsibility (40% -53%). From the results of testing the relationship between the variables gender, age environmental science graduate students with the knowledge, attitude and concern for the environment in Jakarta obtained the conclusion that: (i) sex was not associated with attitudes, sex-related knowledge about the environment and gender not associated with concern for environmental quality in Jakarta; (ii) age has nothing to do with student attitudes toward environmental science, age was not associated with knowledge about environmental quality in Jakarta, but age-related concerns environmental science graduate students; (iii) knowledge related to environmental science student attitudes, knowledge is also associated with concern for environmental quality in Jakarta; (iv) the attitude is not related to concern for environmental quality in Jakarta

Abstract

Urban development not only generate economic growth and environmental degradation, such as air pollution, pollution of river water and ground water. Both of these constitute a social gap for the city of Jakarta. Where these gaps become a heavy burden for the poor city of Jakarta. Heaviness of the same was not felt by the poor men and poor women of Jakarta. Women who have experienced poverty in the city of Jakarta, received a heavier burden than men. These burdens perceived internally and externally. Internal burden is the burden that is felt in the lives of female domestic shutter and external load is felt in the public shutter poor women. This burden is also due to women living in poverty will try to keep life in many ways. Poor women must work to maintain family life and himself, though the choice is very limited work. Poor women are important actors in sustainable urban development through make community sustain. As a result of job choices, poor women are behind the effect and become input (input) for the balance of the ecosystem of Jakarta. If the input quality of the ecosystem conditions will lead to a balanced process that ultimately sustainable. This sustainability, will be transmitted to the sustainability of ecosystems nationally, regionally and globally.
