Abstract

Background: Nurses are one of the health workers from hospital services andbecome a benchmark in determining the quality of hospital health services. Incarrying out nursing duties, nurses must have a professional attitude startingfrom the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects. Watson's theory ofhuman care reveals that caring is a form of relationship that is needed betweenthe giver and recipient of nursing care, to improve and protect patients, whichwill affect the patient's ability to recover. Caring behavior that is not good willhave an impact on decreasing service quality and client satisfaction, especially inhospitals, besides that it can reduce the number of client visits to health facilitiesand can later cause financial losses to health facilities, where the image of theinstitution is determined by the quality of service which will later be able toincrease client satisfaction and service quality. Objective: to determine therelationship between nurse work stress and caring behavior in MuntilanHospital. Methods: this type of research is descriptive correlation, with a crosssectional approach which data collection uses simple random sampling techniqueand the data is processed using the Spearman test with a sample of nurses in theinpatient room of Muntilan Hospital, totaling 47 nurses. Results: Spearman ranktest results show that there is a significant relationship between nurse workstress and caring behavior with a value (p=0.001 and r=-0.450). Conclusion:There is a relationship between nurse work stress and caring behavior withsufficient correlation strength.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic condition caused by long-term malnutrition. Stunting is based on the index of body length for age (PB/U) or height for age (TB/U) with a calculation limit (z-score) less than -2 SD. This community service aimed to provide information to the public about stunting, its impact, how to handle, and how to make complementary foods. The method used was survey, permission from partner, problem discussion, and problem solving by providing counselling and preparing complementary foods. The results indicated that people with insufficient understanding of stunting information were finally more aware of stunting, prevention methods, causes of stunting, and the impact of stunting on infants. By providing information about complementary foods, selecting nutritious foods, and environmental hygiene sanitation, stunting rates can be reduced in Madukoro Village.

Abstract

Patient safety incidents are increasing and can result in death. Hospitals are required to provide quality and safe service. Thus, making policies to improve the quality of patient safety based on evidence is very important. This study aimed to determine the relationship between work design and the implementation of patient safety by the nurses. The design of this research was a descriptive correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a total sample of 56 nurses in the Inpatient Room of a hospital in Temanggung Regency. The data was collected through a work design questionnaire instrument and digital instrument/ calculators obtained through observation. Then, the data were analyzed by the chi-square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between work design and the implementation of patient safety by the nurses (p = 0.000). Nurses who had a good perception of work design were found to carry out patient safety well. It is suggested that the hospital management needs to support the implementation of patient safety through the work design of the head of the room by compiling standard operational procedures. The head of the room needs to improve the implementation of work design so that all nurses can perform patient safety according to standards.
