The aim of this study was to determine the main effects and the interaction effect of treatment and moderator variables on Civics Education learning outcomes. This quasi-experimental study used a factorial design with posttest non-equivalent control group design. Subjects of this study were the second semester students, Economic department, 2012-2013 academic year. The subjects were 74 students, consisting of 36 students from class A for the experimental class and 38 students from class B as a control class. The results of this study indicates that 1) there is significant differences of argument ability of the students in Civics between the groups of students studying with the pair group VCT learning strategy and those with VCT small groups of 4-7 students, 2) the argument ability of Civics Education learning students in Civics course, between groups of students with internal locus of control and those with external locus of control, significantly different, and 3) instructional strategies and locus of control shows the interaction effect on arguing ability in Civics.

Abstract

Natural Sciences is the study of natural phenomena. In science learning, students are expected to have scientific knowledge, high-level thinking, critical and creative thinking, so that they become independent learners. The purpose of this study was to describe students' critical thinking skills through environmental-based TPACK learning on the human motion system material. This research method is done by lesson study with 3 learning cycles. The results showed that TPACK learning can improve students' critical thinking, especially in identifying, linking, analyzing and concluding in this study the application of TPACK learning to improve thinking skills in categories can be very good.

Abstract

Handling the problem of household waste is getting more complicated by the day. Some people do not have a new perspective on dealing with waste. For this reason, serious handling is needed when utilizing household waste as a resource. Household waste is the largest contributor to creating organic waste, so to turn organic waste into resources, it is necessary to work on piles of organic waste from household waste by utilizing waste in compost. The benefits of compost are many in terms of fertilizing plants, so through community service, training activities for making compost with EM 4 were carried out for Baturetno PKK members, where 35 participants attended the training. The aim is to train PKK members skills in handling household organic waste by giving them EM4. In this activity, the methods used were socialization, training, and monitoring. In the training, a questionnaire was distributed to determine the participants' insight and response to the activity. The results of the questionnaire show that there is an increase in understanding and skills as seen from the average answer "YES" before the training of 58.53% with a sufficient category, and after the training to 93% with a very good category, thus indicating that the knowledge and skills of PKK members in Baturetno, Tuban district after training in processing waste from household organic waste into compost with EM 4, has increased.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the understanding of meaning and communication processes within the field of language. As AI usage continues to grow across various platforms—such as chatbots and virtual assistants—it becomes increasingly important to explore how this technology affects patterns of human interaction. Data were collected from 45 participants through questionnaires and in-depth interviews designed to uncover users' experiences with AI and the challenges they encountered. The findings reveal that although the majority of respondents are satisfied with AI’s ability to deliver information, there are significant shortcomings in its understanding of context and linguistic nuances. Only about 30% of respondents believe that AI can truly grasp deeper meanings. The study also incorporates philosophical implications concerning the authority of meaning, authenticity in communication, and identity in digital interactions. These results offer valuable insights for technology developers to enhance AI's capacity to comprehend social and emotional contexts, while also helping the public to better understand the limitations and potential of AI in communication. Consequently, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness between language, technology, and philosophy in the digital age.
