Abstract

The demand of science learning in the global era according to the National Science Teachers Association (2006) is to prepare learners with a variety of skills and skills, one of which is critical thinking skills. In learning Biology in SMP Negeri 3 Kragan critical thinking skills have not been empowered by teachers. Efforts to improve the skills of critical thinking is with the model of learning Problem Based Learning. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of learning model Problem Based Learning on students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted on the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Kragan. The material in this research is global warming. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design design. The sample in this research is VII A class (experimental class) and VII B class (control class), each class is 30 students. Data analysis using t test. The results showed that the average value of all aspects and indicators of critical thinking experimental class is higher than the control class. Percentage in experimental class 83,60% while in control class 76,40%. Data analysis with t test obtained sig value 0.000, so it is concluded that model of learning of Problem Based Learning influence to critical thinking skill of SMP Negeri 3 Kragan student on global warming material

Abstract

Students’ critical thinking skills are very important in the 21st century. Learning strategies can play a role in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in the Nutrition and Health lecture. The results of a survey in 2013 showed that the implementation of learning strategies had not given students the opportunity to practice their critical thinking skills optimally. The new strategy, a combination of PDEODE and STAD, can be used to overcome the occurring problems. The purpose of this research was to determine the increase in students’ critical thinking skills in the nutrition and health lecture after they were taught using a combination of PDEODE and STAD. This was a pre-experimental research using a one group pretest-posttest research design. The samples of this research were one class consisting of 41 university students. The results of the test were analyzed with quantitative methods, by using statistical analysis, paired samples T-test, and to know the effectiveness using gain scores. The results showed that the significance was 0.000 (p <0.05) and the gain score was 0.58. Thus, it can be concluded that the strategy of combining PDEODE and STAD can effectively improve the students’ critical thinking skills in the nutrition and health lecture.

Abstract

Sampah adalah bahan yang tidak digunakan lagi yang berbentuk padat maupun cair.Sampah akan menimbulkan berbagai masalah jika tidak ditangani secara baik Sampah-sampah di laut merupakan salah satu sumber pencemaran laut dan sebagai penyebab global berbagai dampak ekologis. sampah anorganik merupakan sampah yang sulit membusuk,seperti botol dan gelas plastik minuman,kertas,kayu dan sebagainya Sampah organik ,sampah yang cepat membusuk,seperti kulit buah-buahan,sayuran,sisa makanan,buah-buahan,daun -daun kering.Sampah organik ini dapat diolah menjadi kompos.Pengomposan dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan biourine.Tujuan dari pelatihan ini mengetahui bahaya sampah organik dan memanfaatkan sampah organik menjadi kompos dengan bamtuan biourine.Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi bahaya sampah organik,pelatihan dan worshop.Kesipulan dari pelatihan ini dari tanggapan peserta pelatihan mengenai bahan yang digunakan dalam pelatihan banyak tersedia di lingkungan tempat tinggal mereka,terutama bahan EM4,tetapi mereka tidak tahu penggunaannya.Keunggulan pelatihan ini,kompos dari sampah organik dengan bantuan biourine dapat mempercepat pertumbuhan tanaman dan juga pupuk ini ramah lingkungan.Namun pupuk ini memiliki kekurangan yaitu proses pembuatanya membutuhkan waktu yang lama.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all sectors including the education. The government applies online learning to stop the spread of Covid-19 virus. So that, motivation, results, and Student’s Well-being have decreased. Teachers are required to be more creative in choosing learning methods that can create Student’s Well-being. The purpose of this study was to create Student’s Well-being in undergraduate Biology Education by practical activities on insects’s material. The practicum is carried out at home using a Pitfall Trap. This research is a quantitative descriptive study which was conducted using the One-case Study method. The research subjects were 9 student’s class 2020 of undergraduated Biology Education. The data collection was carried out by observation using a student response questionnaire sheet. The results showed that Pitfall Trap-based practicum carried out at home could create Student’s Well-being in undergraduate Biologi Education

Abstract

The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 resulted in learning being carried out on-line. However, critical thinking skills are still honed in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of the critical thinking skills of students of Mathematics Education 2019, PGRI Ronggolawe Tuban University in the Environmental Knowledge course using the PDEODE strategy on the Reflective cognitive style and Impulsive cognitive style. This type of research is descriptive exploratory research, Data collection techniques used MFFf (Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) and critical thinking ability tests. The research subjects were 12 students. The results showed that: 1) There were 5 students with a reflective cognitive style and 7 students with an 9pulsive cognitive style. 2) The average results of critical thinking skills for all aspects of critical thinking components in the reflective cognitive style group are: 40% for high category 20% for moderate category 40% for low category while in the impulsive cognitive style group: 28.6% for high fJ.tegory 28.6% for medium category, and 42.8% for low category. The conclusion is that the PDEODE strategy can be applied in online learning to empower critical thinking ski! ls in terms of reflective and impulsive cognitive styles.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kelayakan e-modul berbasis TPACK (Technological Pedagogical And Content Knowledge) untuk melatih kemampuan literasi sains calon guru Biologi. Artikel ini merupakan bagian dari penelitian dan pengembangan yang telah dilakukan, yaitu mengembangkan e-modul berbasis TPACK, di mana mahasiswa S-1 Pendidikan Biologi, FKIP, Universitas PGRI Ronggolawe Tuban sebagai subjek penelitian. Penelitian dan pengembangan yang dilakukan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Pada tahap Development, peneliti melakukan validasi kepada tiga orang ahli, yaitu ahli materi, bahasa, dan media. Instrumen yang digunakan pada tahap tersebut adalah lembar validasi yang memuat beberapa indikator penilaian dan pertanyaan pendukung. Lembar validasi yang diberikan pada ahli materi dan media memiliki 16 butir indikator penilaian dan 3 pertanyaan pendukung, sedangkan lembar validasi yang diberikan pada ahli bahasa memuat 10 indikator penilaian dan 3 pertanyaan pendukung. Berdasarkan hasil validasi diketahui bahwa ahli materi, bahasa, dan media masing-masing memberikan penilaian 91,25%; 94%; dan 93,7% sehingga penilaian dari ketiga ahli berkategori sangat baik. Ahli materi menyarankan agar e-modul dilengkapi link untuk materi pengayaan. Ahli bahasa memberikan saran agar kalimat-kalimat yang digunakan lebih komunikatif. Saran dari ahli media adalah adanya pengurangan warna merah pada e-modul berbasis TPACK. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari hasil penilaian validator adalah e-modul berbasis TPACK layak digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan literasi sains calon guru Biologi.

Abstract

Handling the problem of household waste is getting more complicated by the day. Some people do not have a new perspective on dealing with waste. For this reason, serious handling is needed when utilizing household waste as a resource. Household waste is the largest contributor to creating organic waste, so to turn organic waste into resources, it is necessary to work on piles of organic waste from household waste by utilizing waste in compost. The benefits of compost are many in terms of fertilizing plants, so through community service, training activities for making compost with EM 4 were carried out for Baturetno PKK members, where 35 participants attended the training. The aim is to train PKK members skills in handling household organic waste by giving them EM4. In this activity, the methods used were socialization, training, and monitoring. In the training, a questionnaire was distributed to determine the participants' insight and response to the activity. The results of the questionnaire show that there is an increase in understanding and skills as seen from the average answer "YES" before the training of 58.53% with a sufficient category, and after the training to 93% with a very good category, thus indicating that the knowledge and skills of PKK members in Baturetno, Tuban district after training in processing waste from household organic waste into compost with EM 4, has increased.

Abstract

Kualitas pembelajaran di SDN 3 Woro Rembang masih belum maksimal. Penyampaian materi pembelajaran belum dilakukan dengan menggunakan media berbasis teknologi. Guru di SD tersebut hanya menggunakan buku yang telah disediakan oleh pemerintah, sehingga media pembelajaran yang digunakan kurang beragam. Melalui adaptasi teknologi, tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat berharap media pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru di SDN 3 Woro Rembang lebih beragam dan literasi digital guru dapat meningkat. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan ini adalah observasi lapangan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Observasi lapangan dilaksanakan untuk menganalisis media pembelajaran yang digunakan, serta sarana dan prasarana yang dimiliki oleh sekolah. Pelatihan dilakukan untuk penyusunan media pembelajaran berbasis IT dengan menggunakan book creator dan game wordwall. Pada pelatihan diberikan materi terkait media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Pendampingan dilaksanakan ketika pelatihan dan setelah pelatihan, hingga dihasilkan produk berupa media pembelajaran berbasis IT. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa peserta sangat antusias dan memberikan respon positif terhadap pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis IT. Selain itu, literasi digital mengalami peningkatan yang ditunjukkan dari pemahaman peserta pada book creator dan game wordwall. Pemahaman peserta tentang book creator meningkat dari 0% menjadi 97,8% sedangkan pada game wordwall meningkat dari 1,1% menjadi 95,6%. Berdasarkan hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat maka dapat diketahui bahwa pelatihan dan pendampingan terkait adaptasi teknologi sangat diperlukan oleh guru khususnya SD untuk meningkatkan literasi digital yang dimiliki.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the diversity of macrofungi in the Paciran limestone mining area. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, identifying and describing the macrofungi diversity level in the Paciran limestone mining area. The method used is observation with data collection using a 1x1 meter plot technique and then continued to count the macrofungal species in the plot and analyze it using the Shannon & Wienner (1963) diversity index equation. In addition, the morphological characteristics of each macrofungi were noted and entered into the observation table. The research results showed that 10 species of macrofungi belonging to two divisions, namely Ascomycota and Basidmycota, were identified, totaling 377 individuals. The Ascomycota division has a low level of diversity with a value of 0.6, while the Basidiomycota division has a medium level of diversity with a value of 1.40. The diversity of macrofungi in the Paciran limestone mining area can be used as a contextual learning resource for lower plant botany to provide insight and increase contextual knowledge related to macrofungi diversity for biology education students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the perception and attitude of teachers on curriculum changes in Indonesia in view of high school Biology learning in Lamongan Regency. The research applied descriptive quantitative research design. Research subjects’ number 40 high school biology teachers in Lamongan. Data was collected by online questionnaire with Google Form. Data were analyzed by percentage statistics. The results of this study showed that the perception and attitude of the teachers on curriculum changes related to the planning of learning implementation was 55% in high category. Meanwhile, the teachers’perception on curriculum changes related to the learning process of Biology was 100% in moderate category. The perception of the teachers on curriculum changes related to the assessment of Biology learning was 87,5% in very high category. It can be concluded that the perception and attitude of teachers on curriculum changes were considered positive. However, it is suggested that the policy makers and the practitioners of education to improve the quality of Biology learning process in accordance with the applicable curriculum. For other researchers to focus more on the perceptions and attitudes of teachers on curriculum changes in terms of the implementation of the biology learning process.
