Abstract

The demand of science learning in the global era according to the National Science Teachers Association (2006) is to prepare learners with a variety of skills and skills, one of which is critical thinking skills. In learning Biology in SMP Negeri 3 Kragan critical thinking skills have not been empowered by teachers. Efforts to improve the skills of critical thinking is with the model of learning Problem Based Learning. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of learning model Problem Based Learning on students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted on the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Kragan. The material in this research is global warming. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design design. The sample in this research is VII A class (experimental class) and VII B class (control class), each class is 30 students. Data analysis using t test. The results showed that the average value of all aspects and indicators of critical thinking experimental class is higher than the control class. Percentage in experimental class 83,60% while in control class 76,40%. Data analysis with t test obtained sig value 0.000, so it is concluded that model of learning of Problem Based Learning influence to critical thinking skill of SMP Negeri 3 Kragan student on global warming material

Abstract

This Study Aims To Determine The Effect Of Cooperative Type Group Investigation (GI) Model With Flash Card Media On Critical Thinking Skills To Student Of Grade VII Students Of SMP Negeri 1 Kerek. Based On The Observations In SMP Negeri 1 Kerek Tuban About The Learning Process Has Not Been Maximized According To The Demands Of The 2013 Curriculum That Enable Students To Learn. The Biology Learning Process Still Uses Conventional Learning Methods, Ranging From Lecturing And Recording, And Using Unattractive Media To Student Learning, Resulting In Passive And Un-Creative Students. Learning Is Teacher-Centered, So Students' Critical Thinking Skills Are Not Developed Optimally. Efforts To Cope With The Learning Model That Enables Students In The Form Of Cooperative Type Group Investigation (GI) Model With Flash Card Media. This Research Is An Experimental Research With Pretest-Postest Control Group Design Design. The Population Of All Students Of Class VII SMP Negeri 1 Kerek Academic Year 2017/2018, Which Amounted To 8 Classes, With Random Sampling Technique, Obtained Class C As Many As 30 Students As Experiment Class, And Class D As 30 Students As Control Class. The Result Of Research Shows Significant 0.000, So It Can Be Concluded That There Is Influence Of Cooperative Type Group Investigation (GI) Model With Flash Card Media To Critical Thinking Ability Of Junior High School Students.

Abstract

Students’ critical thinking skills are very important in the 21st century. Learning strategies can play a role in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in the Nutrition and Health lecture. The results of a survey in 2013 showed that the implementation of learning strategies had not given students the opportunity to practice their critical thinking skills optimally. The new strategy, a combination of PDEODE and STAD, can be used to overcome the occurring problems. The purpose of this research was to determine the increase in students’ critical thinking skills in the nutrition and health lecture after they were taught using a combination of PDEODE and STAD. This was a pre-experimental research using a one group pretest-posttest research design. The samples of this research were one class consisting of 41 university students. The results of the test were analyzed with quantitative methods, by using statistical analysis, paired samples T-test, and to know the effectiveness using gain scores. The results showed that the significance was 0.000 (p <0.05) and the gain score was 0.58. Thus, it can be concluded that the strategy of combining PDEODE and STAD can effectively improve the students’ critical thinking skills in the nutrition and health lecture.

Abstract

The learning process conducted in MTS Al-Musthofawiyah is still conventional and still uses the lecturemethod, thus affecting the students' learning outcomes, which is currently sufficiently high score of 60% withKKM score (70). The currently used Student Worksheet is still simple in terms of materials, drawings andlanguage used, so it needs the development of Student Worksheet (LKS) based on probing prompting onenvironmental pollution material to improve student learning outcomes. The method used is the developmentof ADDIE (Analyze, Desing, Defelopment, Implementation, Evaluation). But in this development only to thestage of Defelopment. The purpose of this research is to know the result of validity test of Student Worksheetwith probing prompting on environmental pollution material to improve student learning result of MTs Al-Musthofawiyah Palang. The instruments used for this study were questionnaires. The result of the validity testfrom the media expert obtained an average value of 82.2%, and the average value obtained from the materialexperts 81% with criteria is very valid, thus it can be concluded that from the test results of the validity of theproduct development of Student Worksheet (LKS) biology-based probing prompting feasible used to improvestudent learning outcomes MTs Al-Musthofawiyah Palang.

Abstract

Teaching materials that support practicum activities are practical guides. The result of observation at SMPN 1 Brondong shows that the practicum guide used has deficiencies in terms of component completeness. This study aims to: 1) produce qualified practical intructions water pollution based on guided inquiry (valid, practical and effective); 2) to describe the validity, practicality and effectiveness of guided inquiry guide. This research is a development research using Four-D development model, however, in this research and development, activities are carried out only until the development stage. The results of research and development show: 1) produce qualified practical intructions water pollution based on guided inquiry developed based on guided inquiry activity; 2) the validity test results from the categorized experts of the category "very valid (81%)", the results of practicality test result 93% showed practical instructions used practical, the results of the effectiveness test to get 0.65 results on Gain score, students' learning completeness classic obtained percentage 90% indicate effective practice manual and student responses to categorical guidance is very good with a percentage of 98%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity of Student Worksheet (LKS) Biology Based Learning Model Double LOOP Problem Solving (DLPS) on the material Ecosystem for high school. This research is a development research, using Borg & Gall model. This model consists of 10 development stages: Research and data collection, Planning, Product draft development, Initial field trials, Revising test results, Field trials, Completion of field test results, Completion of final product, Dissemination and implementation. Implementation of development steps tailored to the needs of researchers. Given the limited time and funds owned by researchers, these steps are simplified into four development steps: Data collection phase, Planning phase, Product development stage, Stage validity. This research was conducted in July 2018. This research was conducted in MA Syiar Islam. The data collected in this research is the data of LKS validity test by matri and media experts. This research data is analyzed by using descriptive statistic in the form of percentage. The results of the validity of the material experts 82.5% and the media experts 82.58% withcriteria is very valid. It is concluded that the results of LKS product validation test developed can be used to improve concept understanding.

Abstract

In the global era, the use of LKS is needed as teaching materials, because LKS can accelerate the growth of students' learning interest, but the use of LKS has not used the proper method of learning. The result of observation shows that learning still uses conventional method, so that the students' learning interest is less which result in mastery of concept is still below 75%. Efforts to overcome these problems by developing LKS with Mind Mapping method. This development research using R & D method with ADDIE model, with the aim to produce LKS with Mind Mapping method that can improve the mastery of learning concept by looking validas, practicality, and effectiveness. The results of the validation of 84.78% showed the valid category, the practical value of 72.5% with the good category, the effectiveness of LKS obtained from the classical learning achievement of 90% with very high category and student response of 100% with very strong category. The conclusion that the development result of LKS is declared eligible to be used as teaching material.

Abstract

Era globalisasi abad 21 ini menuntut sumber daya manusia berkualitas yang  mampu menguasai konsep-konsep dasar sains, matematika, rekayasa, dan teknologi agar dapat berpikir kritis  tentang dunia ini dan membuat keputusan cerdas dalam isu-isu pribadi dan kemasyarakatan. Untuk menerima tantangan tersebut pemahaman konsep yang benar dan berpikir kritis  terhadap suatu materi ajar sangat dibutuhkan, namun dalam mata kuliah botani tumbuhan rendah masih terdapat miskonsepsi  (kesalahan konsep), dan berakibat rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Abstract

Media in learning, one of them is LKS. The LKS should contain a summary of material contains to improve students understanding, but in reality LKS of IPA materials currently used is not sufficient to improve students understanding. The result observation at SMP Muhammadiyah 13 Kalen Lamongan indicates that LKS used has many deficiencies, that is not presented in contextual, difficult language to understand, unattractive images and lack of explantion of difficult word meaning especially climate change material. This resulted in low students learningmotivation and impact of decreased learning outcomes. Efforts to cope with the development of LKS. This research is aimed to develop LKS based contextual with glossary of climate change material to improve students to be valid, practical, and effective. This research is a research development with R & D method (Research and Development), and use model development of ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The result of LKS development showed valid 79,89%, practicality 70% with practical criteria, 93,3% completeness of study result with very high criteria, student response result gets percentage average 98,5% with criterion very effective, and N-gain analysis result is 0.5 with medium criterion. In conclusion, the development of LKS is considerad feasible to be used as a learning media for students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity of student workbooks based on problem based learning on environmental change materials to improve the ability to think critically in high school. This research is research development (Research and The develop-ment) is a 4-D model. This model consists of 4 development stages including Defining, Designing, Development, and Spreading. But in this study only until the development stage is up to the stage of validity. The research was conducted in August 2018. This research was conducted in MA Syiar Islam Maibit Rengel. The data collected in this study is the data of LKS validity test results. The instrument used to collect data in this study is a questionnaire. The data in this study were analyzed by using descriptive statistics in the form of percentage. The result of the validity of the media expert is 81.5 and the material expertity validity is 82.5 with very valid criteria. Thus it is concluded that the developed LKS can be used to improve critical thinking.
