Abstract

Jagung manis merupakan tanaman penting bagi Indonesia, umumnya ditanam secara monokultur dengan jarak tanam lebar yang menyebabkan banyak gulma. Pengendalian gulma kebanyakan dilakukan secara manual atau kimiawi yang efektivitas dan efisiensinya rendah. Salah satu metode yang potensial untuk mengendalikan gulma adalah tumpangsari. Tanaman yang sesuai untuk ditumpangsarikan dengan jagung manis adalah kacangan, yang mempunyai karakter berbeda dengan jagung manis. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh jenis kacangan terhadap mikroklimat, keanekaragaman dan kelimpahan gulma, serta mendapatkan jenis kacangan yang efektif untuk menekan gulma. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan rancangan percobaan faktor tunggal yang disusun dalam rancangan acak kelompok lengkap dengan 3 blok sebagai ulangan. Perlakuan yang diujikan adalah jenis kacangan yang terdiri atas 5 jenis yaitu kacang tanah, kedelai, kacang tunggak, kacang merah dan kacang hijau, serta penanaman jagung manis monokultur sebagai pembanding. Pengamatan gulma dilakukan dengan analisis vegetasi dengan 5 petak sampel setiap petak perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gulma yang tumbuh pada tumpangsari jagung manis+kacangan sebanyak 33 jenis, didominasi oleh gulma tekian dan daun lebar, yaitu Cyperus rotundus, Cynodon dactylon, Physallis angulata dan Phyllantus niruri; semua jenis kacang pada tumpangsari mampu menekan pertumbuhan gulma, dengan kemampuan menekan gulma yang paling tinggi yaitu kacang tunggak; dan keberadaan kacangan sebagai tanaman sela di antara jagung manis pada tumpangsari tidak menurunkan hasil jagung manis.

Abstract

Shallots are mostly developed with tubers as planting material, even though they have many disadventages. An alternative that can be done is to use seeds in the form of botanical seeds (True Shallot Seed/TSS), but there is still a long nursery time. This study aims to obtain the concentration and soaking time of the gibberellin on the germination and growth of shallot seedlings. The research was conducted using a single factor experimental method that arranged in a completely randomized design. The treatments were 4 gibberellins concentrations i.e. 2, 4, 6 and 8 ppm which were immersed for 12 and 24 hours, with 3 replications and each replication consisted of 5 sample. The observed variables were germination, vigor index, height of plant, number of leaves, leaf area, fresh weight and dry weight of seedling. The results of the research showed that a gibberellin with a concentration of 2 ppm with soaking time of 24 hours was able to increase the germination and vigor index of shallot seeds, and as well as increase the growth of shallot seedlings.

Abstract

One of the areas affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is Kasihan District, Bantul, DIY. Covid-19 in Kasihan has not only impacted the health sector but has also caused massive economic disruption. This research aims to determine food consumption patterns and utilization of yards during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted from March to April 2022 with an observation location in Kasihan Bantul, using survey techniques, distributing questionnaires, and interviewing the community. Data were obtained from 152 respondents from 4 sub-districts and 53 hamlets, which were then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the food consumption pattern of the people in Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul during the Covid-19 pandemic experienced slight changes, with a decrease in the level of food fulfillment by 1.32% and an increase in the frequency of consuming fruit and vegetables. The yard in Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul has been used by the community for plant cultivation, livestock, and fish farming for a long time and has not changed during the Covid-19 pandemic. The yard in Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul has not been effective in meeting food needs and increasing family income during the Covid-19 pandemic.
