Abstract

Science has implemented the cell cultures as the primary for research such as a model system, toxicity tests, cancer, viruses, cell-based industries, genetic counseling, genetic engineering, gene therapy, drug screening and the latest is invitro meat. The purpose of this study was to determine the resistance of chicken embryo eksplan cells in invitro media. The research design was in the form of laboratory experiments. Explants taken 4 day old chick embryos, which were cultured in MEM media + serum. The results showed fibroblast cell cultures which survive 2 days. The most influential factor is the environment that is less supportive of the growth of explant chicken embryo cell

Abstract

Keinginan hidup sehat dengan mengonsumsi makanan dan minuman alami menjadi bagian gaya hidup masyarakat. Jeruk menjadi salah satu buah yang menjadi makanan fungsional untuk menjaga dan memelihara kesehatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perbedaan aktivitas antioksidan dan antimikroba pada buah Jeruk Lemon(Citrus limon) dan Jeruk Nipis(Citrus aurantiifolia). Metode penelitian adalah penelitian eksperimen laboratorium dengan analisis deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari-April 2017 di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi dan Kultur Jaringan Tumbuhan Jurusan Biologi Universitas Negeri Malang. Screening fitokimia dengan metode reaksi warna, total fenol dengan metode Folin Ciocalteu, aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH dan aktivitas antimikroba dengan metode Cakram. Hasil uji screening menunjukkan adanya saponin dan alkaloid tetapi tidak terdapat flavonoid, terpenoid dan tanin. Uji total fenol didapatkan kandungan total fenol pada Jeruk Lemon(Citrus limon) 110,25 mg GAE/ 100ml sedangkan pada Jeruk Nipis(Citrus aurantiifolia) 116,5 mg GAE/ 100ml. Aktivitas antioksidan Jeruk Lemon(Citrus limon)49.593g/ml dan Jeruk Nipis(Citrus aurantiifolia)49.589g/ml. Uji aktivitas antimikroba diperoleh luas zona hambatan yang tertinggi pada konsentrasi 100% dari masing-masing buah jeruk. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada perbedaanaktivitas antioksidan dan antimikroba pada kedua jeruk, dimana buah jeruk lemon (C.limon) aktivitas antioksidannya lebih tinggi daripada dan Jeruk Nipis(C. aurantiifolia), sedangkan aktivitas antimikroba jeruk Nipis(C. aurantiifolia)lebih tinggi daripada jeruk lemon (C.limon).

Abstract

Healthy and nutritious food should be free from biological contaminants. The presence of Escherichia coli in food is an indicator contamination and also presence of other pathogenic bacteria. This study aims to determine the value of MPN E. coli in food samples using the MPN-PCR combination technique. Descriptive research method. Samples were taken from 5 traders in Malang City. The results showed that 3 out of 5 food samples were contaminated with E. coli, indicated by the presence of a specific band amplified and produced a DNA band measuring 584 base pairs in agarose gel electrophoresis. Conclusion: MPN value of E. coli in the three food samples code II 34 MPN / gram, code III 75 MPN / gram and V code 290 MPN / gram. The MPN-PCR combination can be used as an alternative method for the conventional MPN test because it can detect the presence of E. coli bacteria in food quickly and reliably

Abstract

Hiperlipidemaemia didalam tubuh ditandai dengan meningkatnya kadar kolesterol didalam darah. Dibutuhkan hambatan kompetitif terhadap HMG-CoA reduktase.Senyawa dari tanaman herbal bunga telang (Clitorea ternatea L.) berpotensi sebagai agen antihiperlipidaemia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi biji bunga telang (C. ternatea L.) sebagai agen antihiperlipidemia melalui studi in silico. Persiapan ligand dengan reseptor menggunakan software YASARA. Moleculer docking menggunakan software PLANTS. Visualisasi menggunakan LigPlus dan PyMol. Reseptor yang digunakan adalah struktur kristal HMG-CoA reduktase dengan kode PDB 1HW9 dan ligand kontrol simvastatin.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan senyawa phloretin, trifolin dan trigonelline yang diprediksi memberikan efek antihiperlidemia berdasarkan studi in silico karena memiliki interaksi masing-masing secara berurutan yaitu phloretin (-64,05), trifolin (-59,24) dan trigonelline (-52,76). Residu asam amino yang berperan dalam ikatan ligand dengan reseptor adalah Asp 767, Tyr 761, Ala 768, Asn 771, Glu 801, Gln 770, Ser 774, Met 655, Ile 802, Gln 766.

Abstract

Avocado (Persea americana) is a popular tropical fruit due to its health benefits and its diverse applications in culinary and cosmetic industries. The avocado fruit is not only consumed for its flesh, but its utilization has now expanded with the production of avocado oil. As interest in avocado oil increases, different extraction methods have been developed to obtain oil of the highest quality. This study aimed to analyze the chemical profile of avocado oil from two varieties, as well as evaluate its health potential. The research method used is descriptive, focusing on the composition of fatty acids analyzed using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The results of the study showed that the butter variety avocado oil contains fatty acids such as tetracosanoic acid, octadecenoic acid, undecylenic acid, palmitic acid, nonanoic acid, and heptacosanoic acid. Meanwhile, the alligator variety avocado oil contains fatty acids such as oleic acid and linoleic acid. The study concluded that variations in avocado fruit influence the fatty acid composition of avocado oil extracted by the autoclave method, where alligator variety avocado oil provides health benefits as a source of vegetable oil rich in oleic and linoleic acids, while the butter variety avocado oil offers benefits for nerve health. Recommendations for further research include clinical studies evaluating the health benefits of avocado oil, with a focus on the effects of fatty acids such as tetracosanoic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid, to provide stronger scientific evidence regarding their effects on nerve, heart, and skin health.
