Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is the influence of the use of props the opportunity to turn on the material opportunities for learning outcomes of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Pagaralam..?. the porpuse of this research is to find the influence of the matter opportunities in matter opportunities of the result of student learning. The method research used is the experimentel method with Pretes-postest control group desain. sampel in class experiment VIII.C class of the students the 30 and 70,56 while the sampel in class VIII.E control of the cclassroom and the number of students 30 and include 64,83. The teachnique of the collection of the data used as documentation and tests. T test data using analysis technique to that class of his experiments wit value s namely 12,06 while to that class of control with new value s namely 12,31 in a cantcount 1,88 > ttable 1,69, then  H0 rejected dan Ha the study received reseived that hypothesis. So in conclusion any impact the use of props opportunities round on the subject matter of the results off student learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know how the student activity during the applied method of guided discovery and student learning outcomes after applied guided discovery method on the material surface area and volumeof sphere in class IX. The method used in this study is the method of quasi-experimental category one short case study, in which the sample taken one class of 37 people conducted in SMP Negeri 3 Pagaralam. Technique of collecting data with observation and test method. To find out student activity used observation sheet, then look for percentage of overall activity. Meanwhile, to find the average value used the average calculation formula (mean). From the data analysis, obtained the average percentage of total student activity during applied guided discovery method is good. Likewise with student learning outcomes after applied guided discovery methods are also categorized well. Thus, guided discovery methods are very well used especially in mathematics learning. Abstract

Matematika lazim di semua mata pelajaran di semua tingkat pendidikan, maka pemahaman matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sangatlah penting. Kebanyakan siswa menganggap matematika adalah mata pelajaran yang menantang. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan pengajaran baru diperlukan jika kita ingin membantu anak mengapresiasi matematika, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan materi balok yang dibahas pada subbab bangun datar. Siswa sering kali mengalami kesulitan karena daya ingat mereka sangat rendah ketika mempelajari matematika, terutama ketika mempelajari konten blok. Berdasarkan temuan wawancara santai yang dilakukan terhadap sejumlah siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Kota Pagaralam, mayoritas dari mereka menyatakan bahwa matematika itu sulit untuk dibayangkan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan baru dalam pengajaran untuk membantu anak-anak menyukai matematika, khususnya balok. Karena bentuk fotonya tiga dimensi, peneliti dapat menggarap teknologi yang mendukung kemampuan koneksi matematis dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi SketchUp yang berbasis virtual reality. Hal ini memungkinkan para peneliti untuk melakukan penelitiannya dengan menggunakan bahan balok. Desain pra-eksperimental dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest, atau desain pretest-before-treatment, merupakan desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Dengan membandingkan hasil dengan keadaan sebelum pengobatan, hasil pengobatan dapat dipastikan dengan lebih akurat. Hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai rata-rata 80 termasuk dalam kategori baik setelah penerapan media pembelajaran melalui penggunaan program Sketchup berbasis virtual reality pada materi balok.

Abstract

General Background: Mathematics education plays a critical role in shaping logical and spatial reasoning, yet many students struggle with abstract topics like three-dimensional geometry. Specific Background: In SMP Muhammadiyah Pagar Alam, learning about cuboids is hindered by teacher-centered methods and the absence of visual learning media. Knowledge Gap: Despite the growing adoption of video-based instruction, limited studies assess the classroom application of low-cost tools like the InShot app for spatial topics at the junior high level. Aims: This study aims to examine how educational videos using the InShot application contribute to student achievement in understanding cuboid material. Results: Using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, the study found that students taught with educational videos achieved significantly higher posttest scores than those taught conventionally, with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.24). Novelty: The research highlights a replicable, cost-effective digital approach tailored for under-resourced classrooms, showing strong cognitive and participatory benefits. Implications: Findings support the integration of short, targeted videos in mathematics instruction and align with Indonesia’s “Merdeka Belajar” initiative, offering practical strategies for enhancing classroom engagement and comprehension.ZHighlight : Posttest scores in the experimental group were significantly higher than the control. Educational video helped students grasp abstract cuboid concepts visually. Large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.24) reflects strong learning improvements.
