Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of long fermentation time banana peel (Musa x paradiciaca ABB (cv. "Pisang Siem”) to the amount of alcohol. This research was conducted at Greenhouse FKIP UHAMKA in August-September 2015. The method used is experimental methods with completely randomized design (CRD). In this research there were 5 treatment each 6 replications. The treatment are P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5 with long fermentation time for 1 day, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days and 9 days. The results showed the level of alcohol in the treatment are 14,85% P1,19,33% P2,24,08% P3,28,23% P4 and17,21% P5.Statistical analysis showed that the treatment effect on parameters of alcohol. The high alcohol measure indicated in the treatment P4 is 28.23%. It can be concluded that the long fermentation time banana peel effect on alcohol measure. The results of the study of the effect of fermentation time on alcohol content showed a difference in the treatment. This may be because the microbes are in the exponential phase. The exponential phase is a phase when microbes experience rapid growth in which the number of cells increases exponentially with time. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur besar koefisien korelasi antara pengetahuan mikrobiologi dengan sikap peduli terhadap kesehatan Mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi UHAMKA. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA pada bulan April 2016. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 6. Pendidikan Biologi UHAMKA yang telah mengikuti matakuliah mikrobiologi, dengan total populasi sebanyak 108 mahasiswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan random sampling dengan jumlah 75 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan studi korelasional. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi sederhana. Kedua variabel memiliki hubungan linier dengan Ftc < Fkk (2,33 < 2,40) sedangkan persamaan regresi y = 77,25 + 0,429x. Hasil perhitungan koefisien korelasi diperoleh rhit > rtab (0,960 > 0,227) yang berarti hipotesis berada di daerah penolakan Ho. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pengetahuan mikrobiologi dengan sikap peduli terhadap kesehatan pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi UHAMKA. Pengetahuan dalam mikrobiologi yang dimiliki mahasiswa berkontribusi sebesar 92,16% terhadap kepedulian pada kesehatan.

Abstract

Saat ini banyak hasil penelitian terkait penyebaran makroalga di Indonesia. Namun informasi terkait penyebaran makroalga di Pulau Tidung di kawasan Kepulauan Seribu cukup sulit ditemui. Diketahui bahwa makroalga cukup melimpah di Kepulauan ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengindetifikasi keberadaan makroalga di Pulau Tidung. Penelitian dilakukan secara metode jelajah dengan menyusuri perairan yang diketahui terdapat makroalga. Ditemukan 9 spesies makroalga yang terdiri dari 4 spesies dari alga coklat (Phaeophyta), 1 spesies dari alga merah (Rhodophyta), dan 4 spesies dari alga hijau (Chlorophyta). Alga coklat yang ditemukan berasal dari genus Sargassum dan Padina, alga merah dari genus Eucheuma, dan alga hijau dari genus Caulerpa dan Halimeda. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keberadaan makroalga ini adalah kualitas perairan, pH air laut, arus laut, dan kecerahan perairan. Adanya makroalga ini menjadi indikator penting bahwa masih terjaganya kelestarian alam Pulau Tidung dalam menjaga keanekaragaman hayatinya.

Abstract

Oyster mushroom cultivation (Pleurotus sp.) is relatively easy, because it has a fairly good adaptability to the environment and is very suitable to be developed in tropical regions such as Indonesia. One of the factors that play a major role is the planting medium which is generally in the form of wood powder. The supply of sawdust is decreasing, so that alternative media is needed which contains lots of organic matter and cellulose. Straw is an alternative substitute for wood powder media because it is abundant. The purpose of this activity was to provide skills in mushroom cultivation by utilizing straw waste to PKK women in Cigaragol village, Ciulengsi, Bogor. The skills about cultivating oyster mushrooms need to be disseminated to the wider community to overcome the shortage of supply of oyster mushrooms on the market. The method used in this activity is by lecturing, discussing and practicing. The results of training activities on the cultivation of white oyster mushrooms have increased community knowledge and skills by 71.9% which includes the introduction of 31.6% white oyster mushroom service, the benefits of white oyster mushrooms 52.6%, 100% white oyster mushroom habitat, 57.9% white wood powder media for cultivation of oyster mushrooms, straw media as an alternative to 100% white oyster mushroom cultivation and 89.5% white oyster mushroom cultivation technique. Training activities greatly help improve the knowledge and skills of cultivating white oyster mushrooms and potentially increase community income.

Abstract

Medicinal plants are an important component of local health practices and biodiversity-based knowledge systems. This study aims to identify medicinal plant species used by the people of Gekbrong Village, Cianjur, West Java, and to describe their plant parts, sources, preparation methods, and perceived benefits. A descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach was applied from January to March 2022 through field exploration, documentation, and interviews with community respondents selected purposively. 30 respondents were selected using purposive sampling by considering the interview results, which showed that they used medicinal plants in their daily lives. The study identified 42 medicinal plant species from 30 families, with Lamiaceae as the most represented family. Leaves were the most frequently used plant part, while boiling was the dominant preparation method. Most plants were obtained from home gardens, indicating the importance of household-level conservation of medicinal plant knowledge. These findings support the need to document local ethnobotanical knowledge and develop educational or conservation materials for younger generations.
