Abstract

This research discusses the library strategy of applying literacy to increase imagination, creativity and innovation. Various libraries carry out various literacy programs, including GLN and GLS. However, the results have not looked encouraging. UNESCO in 2017 stated that out of a total of 61 countries, Indonesia ranked 60th at a low literacy level. Literacy activities, namely activities that empower the movement of reading and writing, can make someone create imagination, creativity, and innovation. Libraries must have effective and efficient literacy implementation strategies, based on 6 types of literacy, namely literacy, numeracy literacy, scientific literacy, ICT literacy, financial literacy, and cultural and citizenship literacy. Librarians need to pay attention to the process of developing literacy, namely: text and facilities; literacy type and purpose, learning context, and learner character. Librarians determine the competencies to be achieved, then determine the quality of character and type of literacy. In the application process, librarians introduce methods of reading books and storytelling, creating a safe and pleasant atmosphere, letting users experiment, and playing roles.

Abstract

Leadership is a significant factor in shaping team performance. Employees will follow the leader's behavior and ultimately this will become the organization's behavior. The research objective in this study is to answer how leadership and knowledge sharing are applied at Badan Informasi Geospasial in order to implement archival policies. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. The selection of informants and objects observed was carried out through the purposive sampling method. Meanwhile, the purpose of writing this research is to answer the research question and provide recommendations on what dimensions should be improved for the Agency: 1) Social Interaction; 2) Experience Sharing; 3) Informal Relationship; 4) Observation; and 5) Mutual Trust. The results of this research indicate the need to intensify the involvement of leaders, both as regulators, facilitators, executors and evaluators. Sharing knowledge is expected to be carried out in a friendly and empathetic manner, gradually. Reward and punishment are also considered to be a driving force for increasing the implementation of archival policies within Badan Informasi Geospasial.  The conclusion of this research is that the majority of entities in Badan Informasi Geospasial have both implemented the Social Interaction, Experience Sharing and Informal Relationship dimensions. However, the Informal Relationship dimension in several work units still needs to be encouraged to be improved. Meanwhile, the Observation & Mutual Trust dimension still needs attention and supervision because most employees still feel that there is a lack of treatment for this dimension.

Abstract

Introduction. This paper investigate information behavior of NCT Dream fans (The South Korean Boy Band) on Twitter. Previously, from research perspectives, fan behavior and their information behavior studies have not been discussed deeply. Fans have unique ways to use information by collaboratively creating, organizing, disseminating, and sharing information. Research Methods. The paper used a virtual ethnographic research method with a qualitative approach. Observations were conducted to explore the exchange of information and interaction between fans with text, images, video and audio among fellow fans. Data was collected by observations, researchers played a role as participants. Data Analysis. The paper followed the three stages of coding: open coding, axial coding, selective coding. Results and Discussion. Fans are able to create their own information, which later it is considered as community knowledge, although the source of information is not official. The fans demonstrate collaborative, creative, sharing, and performative activities that engage further with information. Conclusion. Fan information behavior involves information creation, information organization, information production, and production. Information behavior of fans on Twitter is informal, diverse, and evolving from the model of fan information behavior offered by Price. Furthermore, because fan behavior has shifted to textual productivity, this information behavior model is very helpful in identifying fans on social media. However, crowdfunding appear as one additional behavior inPrice's information behavior model.

Abstract

The presence of libraries is a familiar and common phenomenon in society, categorized into four types: public, special, school, and university libraries. However, in Indonesia, libraries face challenges, including financial resources, human resource issues, bureaucratic hurdles, physical resource problems, and information resource issues. These challenges have resulted in many libraries not meeting standards, despite guidelines set by the National Library of Indonesia. Libraries, integral to their management processes, often overlook a crucial function—control. This article delves into control as a key management function, addressing the problems encountered by Indonesian libraries. The focus is on control's role in overcoming issues, employing literature study methods and data analysis through observational literature techniques. The results indicate that all four types of libraries need to implement various techniques and analyses, including cost-benefit and return on investment analysis, benchmarking, leadership support, effective collaboration with librarians and technical staff, based on up-to-date information and corrective actions. Additionally, investments in infrastructure, facilities, information technology, digital resources, and information literacy training are essential.
