Abstract

Local content is content that is owned by a library with a particular subject, for example the local content of a city or regional public library is a collection of books and non-book libraries that talk about the city or area of the library. But for the Public Library of Malang City, local content is divided into two types, namely collections of authors from Malang and collections that talk about Malang. The local content of Malang City Public Library must be highlighted, one of them is by doing a promotion, to become a differentiator of the public library with other public libraries. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. Data retrieval is done by observing and interviewing the librarians of Malang City Public Library and Malang Community.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan masyarakat merupakan kegiatan yang membuat masyarakat terampil dan terdidik dalam berkegiatan. Keberadaan perpustakaan umum suatu daerah berperan dalam memberdayakan masyarakatnya mengetahui perpustakaan umum sebagai sarana belajar sepanjang hayat bagi seluruh lapisan masyarakat. Saat ini, Perpustakan Umum Kabupaten Magelang memiliki banyak kegiatan pelibatan seluruh lapisan masyarakat demi tercapainya layanan perpustakaan berbasis inklusi sosial yang berarti mengangkat harkat dan martabat masyarakat yang berpotensi termarjinalkan seperti ekonomi rendah dan penyandang disabilitas. Namun inklusi sosial itu sendiri memiliki arti tak hanya seputar masyarakat yang perekonomiannya rendah dan penyandang disabilitas, tetapi masyarakat yang berpotensi termarjinal karena etnis atau bahkan penderita HIV/ODHA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Berdasarkan data yang ditemukan Perpustakaan Umum Kabupaten Magelang sudah banyak melakukan kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat bagi seluruh lapisan masyarakat namun belum terhadap masyarakat HIV/ODHA. Penelitian ini memiiliki rekomendasi yaitu hal terkait pemberdayaan HIV/ODHA oleh perpustakaan umum bisa dikaji lebih lanjut.

Abstract

If we look at the definition of a public library itself, namely a library that is used as a means of lifelong learning regardless of gender, physical condition, race, ethnicity, religion, social and economic status. That means the concept of social inclusion is very suitable to be implemented in the library. The latest public library paradigm is as a vehicle for people to develop their potential so that it leads to an increase in living standards. Regarding the concept of social inclusion, of course, it has a relationship with public libraries because they both talk about equality. Social inclusion means efforts to make society open to one another, especially to vulnerable or potentially marginalized communities, one of which is through community empowerment activities. This research is a qualitative study using the literature study method, namely collecting and analyzing the literature as a data source. To check the validity of the data, data source triangulation was carried out by looking for other data to strengthen the previous data. In this study, it was found that a public library based on social inclusion means a public library that always guarantees its facilities and services in order to encourage people to be open to one another. Several things that need to be considered in building a public library based on social inclusion, namely (1) the existence of community empowerment activities, and (2) the right to get library services, and (3) the accessibility of library information. Therefore it can be concluded that public libraries are closely related to the concept of social inclusion so that they can apply the concept. Of course, this can be seen from the public library itself which has the character of protecting all levels of society without a reed perspective.

Abstract

Abstrak: Implementasi DRCP pada Arsip di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Malang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan konsep penanggulangan bencana dan pemulihan kembali arsip yang disimpan atau dikelola oleh Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Malang. Konsep tersebut dikenal dengan konsep Disaster Recovery and Contingency Plan (DRCP). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh yakni Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Malang mengelola arsip aktif dan inaktif, yang berusia 10 tahun. Penerapan konsep Disaster Recovery and Contingency pada dinas tersebut kurang maksimal. Pada tahap prabencana, manajemen risiko sangat baik dengan mengidentifikasi kersusakan dan cara menanggulanginya. Namun, pada tahap saat bencana dan pascabencana tidak berjalan karena Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Malang tidak memiliki standar operasional prosedur dan belum pernah mengalami kerusakan yang parah akibat bencana natural disaster atau Man-made Disaster. Abstract: Implementation of DRCP in Archives at Department of Library and Archives. This study aims to determine the application of the concept of disaster management and recovery of archives that stored or manage by Department of Library and Archives Malang. The concept is known as Disaster Recovery and Contingency Plan (DRCP). This research method used qualitative research methods. The results are showing that Department of Library and Archives Malang is managing both of active and 10 years old inactive records. The implementation of Disaster Recovery and Contingency Plan is not optimal. At the predisaster stage, risk management considered good by identifying the damage and how to overcome it. However, risk management doesn’t work at disaster and post disaster stage. It is because Department of Library and Archives Malang doesn’t have Standard Operating Procedures and they have never experienced serious damage due to natural disaster and man-made disaster.

Abstract

The term literacy continues to evolve from time to time according to the conditions of a society. At first, UNESCO in 1997 concluded that literacy is the ability to identify, understand, interpret, communicate, and count using printed or other materials, but the meaning of literacy is much more than that, which in the end a literate community can produce something that is beneficial to individuals or society. Therefore, the prosperity of a society can be seen from the number of literate people. National Library of Indonesia has recorded it in the concept of literacy for prosperity in the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation program. One of the programs carried out is for the prosperity of the literacy-based economic community that also aims to support SDGs. Until now, the National Library of Indonesia has succeeded in bringing about a positive impact on the community's economy with the concept of as well as support for SDGs. In the future, there are still many things that must be researched by the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia regarding literacy for inclusive prosperity.

Abstract

Public libraries always provide benefits to the surrounding community beyond just providing books to read. How public libraries ensure that the information collections they have can be useful for the community for their survival is a problem that must be resolved. Therefore, community development is an activity that supports the role of public libraries in creating a skilled and knowledgeable community. Public libraries do not need to do it alone, but can collaborate with the community in its implementation. This study focuses on how important and the implementation of the collaboration between public library and community in community development activity. The importance of collaboration can be seen by the benefits, there are 1) accelerating changes in society; 2) generating social cohesion; 3) creating a good climate for the flow of knowledge in society, and 4) increasing community participation in public libraries. For its application it varies from the problems and potential of the existing culture. Therefore, the collaboration of public libraries with the community can grow the social capital of the public library itself.

Abstract

Istilah librarianpreneur merupakan gabungan dari dua kata yaitu librarian dan entrepreneur. Kegiatan wirausaha itu sendiri berarti menghasilkan suatu produk atau jasa dengan inovasi yang dilakukan oleh seseorang guna melayani masyarakat. Wirausaha tidak hanya berarti membuat perusahaan atau bisnis sendiri, namun juga bisa dilakukan oleh profesi lain seperti pustakawan.  Kemampuan untuk berwirausaha bagi seorang pustakawan diperlukan untuk menambah profesionalisme mengingat informasi dan ilmu pengetahuan merupakan aset yang penting bagi masyarakat. Sekarang kita sudah ada di era industri 4.0, di mana teknologi informasi berkembang sehingga terdapat peluang inovasi yang dapat dilakukan oleh pustakawan (librarianpreneur). Artikel ini mendeskripsikan librarianpreneur dan bagaimana praktiknya. Dari hasil studi pustaka, penulis menemukan bahwa penggunaan media sosial sebagai pembuatan produk berupa konten perpustakaan merupakan salah satu kegiatan wirausaha yang dapat dilakukan oleh pustakawan dengan mudah dan murah. Masyarakat dapat ikut berkomunikasi dengan pustakawan dengan mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan media sosialnya serta memberikan feedback terhadap konten perpustakaan yang dibuat. Selain media sosial, penulis bahas mengenai teknologi terkini seperti Artificial Intelligent dan pengolahan data dalam berkreasi di era industri 4.0 Sebenarnya, masih perlu adanya pengkajian terhadap kewirausahaan di bidang perpustakaan oleh akademisi maupun praktisi, sehingga diharapkan pustakawan kedepannya bisa berinovasi dan berkreasi dalam bidangnya.

Abstract

Library is a place to store book or non-books collections that can be used to research, read, and learn. At Bina Nusantara University, Anggrek campus, the library is also a space for discussion and sharing knowledge to each other. The spaces are large and includes large collection of books, causing considerable obstacles in the library of Bina Nusantara University Kampus Anggrek. This is because the important information for visitors has not been processed maximally. An open space at the library can be put with design information about the system of borrowing and returning books, also the other main services. We always see many signs in the street such as road sign, the rules in somewhere, or infographics of some directions. They are some example of information design. The library ofcourse can use that too to help the visitor in the library. For this research, we use the qualitative approach and the descriptive method by doing some observation in the library and some interview to students who visit the library, and also the Visual Communication Design lecture. So this research will discuss what are the information designs in the Library of Bina Nusantara University, Anggrek Campus and why the design of information is important.
