Abstract

One of the potential regions in South Sulawesi Province is Tempe Lake region. The socio-cultural conditions of the local community can be an interesting matter to become a foundation in the regional development. The purpose of this study was to identify and to describe the form of community local wisdom in Tempe Lake region that can be considered in the regional development, to analyze the agricultural commodity that become the leading commodity, to identify the development level of rural, to analyze the contents of spatial plan policies that support the local wisdom aspects and to arrange Tempe Lake region’s development referrals with regard to local wisdom. The results showed that 7 local communities has a potential regarding local wisdom aspects. Commodities of fisheries and animal husbandry as leading commodities. Most of the rural areas in Tempe Lake region was at a low level of development. In the RTRW of Sidrap, Soppeng and Wajo Regency had found that assimilation element was the most heavily contented element in the three documents. The referrals of Tempe Lake region development with regard to local wisdom could be based on the local knowledge in regional development planning, natural resource management, local economic development, traditional settlements development, cultural village development, and protection of cultural sites.

Abstract

Agrotourism is a form of tourism activities that utilize agro business as a tourist attraction with the aim to expand knowledge, travel, recreation, and business relationships in the field of agriculture. Development of agro-tourism management especially in urban areas requires close cooperation between various sectors, namely transportation sector, tourism sector, agriculture sector, trade sector, regional development sector and so on. The presence of Taman Maccini Sombala in Makassar City becomes a place to fulfill the needs of green open space (public open space). In line with the development of this potential has not been fully utilized both for the fulfillment of food needs of society and the main function as a public space and tourist space. This role then developed into an agro-tourism area of ​​the city. Assessment in measuring MoI Park development program as one of agro-tourism in Makassar by looking at the existing condition, analyzing the suitability and feasibility of agrowisatanya and how the carrying capacity both physically and with the consideration of the manager and also the development concept that can be applied in Taman Maccini Sombala of Indonesia as object of agro tourism city.

Abstract

Irrigation plays a crucial role in agriculture, particularly in Indonesia, by ensuring a stable water supply for rice fields, thereby enhancing crop productivity and optimizing water use. The efficiency of an irrigation network directly impacts water distribution, making it essential to assess system performance regularly. This study evaluates the performance of the tertiary irrigation system in the Bulutimorang Irrigation Area, Sidrap Regency, and maps the condition of its existing physical infrastructure. The research was conducted from May to July 2023 and involved field surveys, network tracing, and interviews with farmers, sluice gate officers, and irrigation personnel (juru/mantri). Data were analyzed to validate key performance indicators based on the Regulation of the Minister of PUPR No. 12/PRT/M/2015. The results indicate that the tertiary irrigation network in the Bulutimorang Irrigation Area is functioning well, with an overall performance score of 72.06%. These findings highlight the need for continued maintenance and improvement strategies to sustain efficient irrigation management in the region.
