Abstract

The Infuence of landuse change causes change of the condition of flow discharge. However, the impact of this landuse change is that the rainfall has more potential to be overland flow than infiltration. The aims of this research are: (1) to assess the patterns of rainfall of 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2014; (2) to assess the land use changes of 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2014; (3) to analyze the design discharge under land use predictions of 2028; and (4) to arrange land use planning that the peak discharge less than peak discharge of Karian Dam. Data were analysed by grid interpolation, Rational, CA-Markov. The results showed that land use of 2000–2014 change from forest to agriculture dry land area about 18.89 km2, from dry land farming to rice field area about 12.84 km2, from dry land agriculture to plantation area about 10.27 km2 and forests to plantations about 6.24 km2. The total area of land uses change of 85.39 km2 (30.2%), but the land use type which remain as existing land uses are 197.48 km2 (69.8%). Flood discharge predictions is not eligible for the best land use pattern because it exceeded the design of flood discharge of Karian Dam. The actual flood discharge is still qualify, flood discharge based on Spatial Pattern and scenarios four to synchronize the flood discharge based on Spatial Pattern is qualify for the best land use pattern. scenarios four for spatial pattern is the best land use planning to be applied that are regarded as the reference of land use in Ciberang watershed Lebak Regency of 2014-2034.

Abstract

Fallout radio nuclides method has been being applied and developed to study and measure soil erosion for long time. This research aims to predict soil erosion/deposition in Ciesek subwatershed, Upper Ciliwung watershed using natural fallout radionuclides of 137Cs and 210Pb excess. Soil samples were taken using soil core along four transects of different land use types. Soil samples were analyzed using Multi Channel Analyzer (MCA) to obtain inventory value of the radioisotopes. The research shows different distribution pattern of soil erosion/deposition of 137Cs and 210Pb excess isotopes. Application of 137Cs isotope shows soil erosion process under home mix garden and dryland farm, but soil deposition process occurs on bareland. In the contrary, 210Pb excess indicates soil erosion on bare land while soil deposition is under home mix garden and dryland farm. Application of 210Pb excess is more reliable than 137Cs in predicting soil erosion.

Abstract

The application of USLE model to several watersheds in Indonesia shows the diversity of processes that affect soil erosion. The integration of USLE model into Geography Information System (GIS) is able to provide a spatial distribution of soil erosion classes. This study aims to predict the soil erosion rate in various land cover in Ciesek sub watershed by integrating the USLE model into GIS. Undisturbed and disturbed soil sampling was carried out based on soil map unit, accompanied by observations of soil physic characteristics. Soil erosion prediction was done using the raster calculator with input raster-based data that has a certain spatial resolution. Analysis of the erosion class distribution on various land cover and slope classes was carried out by using the cross tabulation method. The results showed that the very low soil erosion class was dominant in the study location, namely in areas with forest land cover. The highest predicted of soil erosion rate resulted from bare land, followed by moorland and mix garden.

Abstract

Perubahan penggunaan lahan akibat peningkatan jumlah penduduk dari 114.973 pada tahun 2007 menjadi 134.792 pada tahun 2012 (meningkat 14,70%) berpengaruh terhadap karakteristik hidrologi DAS Way Betung. Model hidrologi SWAT (Soil and Water Assesment Tools) dapat memprediksi karakteristik hidrologi DAS yang dipengaruhi oleh perubahan penggunaan lahan. Tujuan penelitian adalah: 1) mengkaji pengaruh perubahan penggunaan lahan terhadap karakteristik hidrologi DAS Way Betung; 2) menyusun rekomendasi penggunaan lahan terbaik di DAS Way Betung. Aplikasi model SWAT digunakan untuk mensimulasi perubahan penggunaan lahan DAS Way Betung. Pengaruh perubahan penggunaan lahan terhadap karakteristik hidrologi berupa total air sungai pada tahun 2001, 2006, dan 2010 masing-masing sebesar 874,66 mm, 1.047,70 mm, dan 774,04 mm. Nilai koefisien aliran permukaan (C) di tiga tahun masing-masing sebesar 0,16, 0,31, dan 0,23, sedangkan nilai koefisien regim sungai (KRS) berturut-turut sebesar 30,65, 66,25, dan 53,57. Penerapan agroteknologi pada lahan pertanian dan pengembalian fungsi kawasan hutan (skenario 4) memberikan respons terbaik terhadap karakteristik hidrologi berupa total air sungai sebesar 709,69 mm dengan C sebesar 0,14, sedangkan nilai koefisien regim sungai (KRS) sebesar 34,66.
